Hi there,

A bit overwhelmed by all the accommodation options in Marrakech, especially with such conflicting reviews (super quiet, super noisy, comfy, horrible, etc.), do you have a guaranteed QUIET place to recommend (good insulation from the rest of the building and street noise) in the city?

Thanks in advance,

Olivier.

Hi there,

In Marrakech, you can stay either in the medina, in Gueliz, or in the palm grove. It all depends on what you want to do, what you like... and your budget. In the medina—the old town—you’ll find riads. The layout isn’t always the quietest (rooms overlook an inner courtyard where everyone passes through). Some are quieter than others. In Gueliz—the new town—hotels are more like what we’re used to, with Western standards. The vibe is completely different. In the palm grove, you’ll find big tourist hotels with pools and all the amenities.

Hi there

If you want to visit, the Palmeraie isn’t the best option. Either there’s a free shuttle from the hotel, but you’ll have to deal with time constraints. Or you take a taxi, but it’s 10/15 € per trip, and you have to wait for the hotel to call one.

I recommend reading guest reviews carefully. Opt for a small riad to minimize noise from neighbors. In that case, riads are often peaceful havens as soon as you step through the door.
