Madagascar, Ethiopie, Congo ... et Maroc (oui certains diront que ce n'est pas vraiment l'Afrique, je serais assez d'accord après y avoir vécu 5 ans mais bon ...) Notre prochaine destination ... le Cameroun. Bon c'est pour décembre 2010 mais on ne perd rien à se renseigner à l'avance ...
Comme on est toutes les deux instit on a plein de vacances .. mais on n'a pas le choix des dates ... Alors l'idée c'est de passer 10 jours sur place pour les prochaines fêtes de fin d'année ... La seconde idée c'est de louer des motos sur place, type 250 trail ....
Première question : est ce que c'est possible ? Si oui est ce que quelqu'un aurait une adresse pour ça ? Et aussi ..; quels sont les papiers nécessaires (permis international ?).
Seconde question ... Qui aurait des conseil d'itinéraire, de choses à voir et ou à ne pas rater ??? Nous ce qu'on aimerait c'est ... voir du pays, des gens, aller de villages en villages ... et si il peut y avoir quelques animaux sur la route ... On pratique beaucoup la chasse photo (oui bon là je parle un peu pour moi ... encore que ... Je pars avec un deux objectifs : un 18 - 135 DX, et un 300)
Juste apporter quelques renseignements en rapport avec tes préoccupations.
Tout d'abord, faire de la moto durant tout votre itinéraire serait un peu difficile, voire pas très prudent à cause des circulatins sur certains axes. Par exemple, vous pouvez faire de la moto sur des routes telles que Douala - limbé, Edéa - Kribi, Maroua - Waza; mais ce serait très imprudent de s'engager sur des axes tel Yaoundé - Douala ou Douala - Bamenda.
Ainsi, moi je vous conseillerai plutot de prendre un chauffeur-guide avec qui vous pourez faire tout le circuit. Enfin!! ça n'est qu'une proposition.
Votre voyage pourra vous conduire au nord visiter la ville de maroua et son marché d'objets d'art, la tannerie, les forgerons... Vous pourrez également aller dans les villages Rhumsiki, Oudjilla, Pouss, Maga et visiter les marchés de tourou et pitoa.
Pour le safari photo, votre voyage pourra vous contruire dans les parcs nationaux de waza, bénoué et(ou) bouba-djida tous situés dans le grand nord.
Plus au sud, vous pourrez aller à kribi et organiser des excursions à ebodje, grand batanga et des ballades en pirogue sur la lobé.
L'ouest du pays vous ouvrira ses chefferies traditionnelles et leurs musées. Ainsi vous visiterez peut-etre la chefferie de bandjoun, le sultanat de foumban, la chefferie bafut, pour ne citer que celles-là.
En chemin, vous aurez l'opportunité de découvrir les chutes d'ékom-kam et peut-etre faire une randonnées sur les monts manengouba et voir les lacs jumeaux de l'homme et de la femme.
Votre circuit à l'ouest s'achevera peut-etre avec une relaxation sur la plage de sable fin noir d'origine volcanique à limbé, au pieds du mont cameroun.

Bon, moi j'ai un avis un peu différent que notre ami qui déconseille certains trajets type douala - yaoundé etc; ses conseils sont très judicieux pour les endroits a visiter, par contre a mon avis on peut faire de la moto partout. je possède ici a kribi ou je vis 2 motos : 1 Triumph Rocket 3 ( 2300 cc quand meme ) et 1 harley fat boy; l année dernière nous avons visité un peu l'ouest kribi , douala limbé, tchang, foumbam en revenant par yaoundé : moi avec ma R3 et ma famille en voiture : aucun souci; je dois aller lundi a douala pour le dédouanement d'un conteneur: je prend toujours ma R3 pour mes long voyages : question de sécurité : quand une voiture double en face de moi dans un virage je peux me mettre sur le coté ( ca passe a quelques centimètres). Il n'y a pas par contre de motos a louer au cameroun; et les routes sont hyper dangereuses. quand a louer une moto type moto taxi chinoise, c'est bien sur pas la peine

tu risque de dépasser 10 jour parce qu'en décembre il fait vraiment beau au Cameroun (Yaoundé Douala) et les camerounais ne sont ni agressifs ni intéresses par vous cela est un atout, j'aimerai vous servir de guide touristique si vous le voulez bien je connais très bien mon pays.

Hello Rocket, J'ai eu la chance de visiter Kribi très récemment et d'y faire une belle virée en 4L, j'ai eu à cette occasion le plaisir de voir tes 2 belles motos. La prochaine fois je compte y revenir avec ma femme pour nous offrir un road trip Kribi/Edéa/Kribi avec l'un de tes bolides si cela est toujours possible. Je confirme ce que tu dis concernant la conduite moto au Cameroun, en Afrique ou ailleurs. Le principe reste le même pour tous et partout, prudence et responsabilisation. J'encourage les copines à vivre leur passion de la moto au Cameroun, surtout à cette période de l'année quand il fait si beau et chaud, la moto est un vrai régal. Les filles, il se pourrait qu'en décembre 2010, notre association puisse mettre une ou deux motos à votre disposition. D'ici là, préparez bien votre séjour et réjouissez vous d'avance de cette belle aventure en perspective que malheureusement beaucoup de personnes ne savent pas s'offrir.

Merci de tes appréciations et pour la moto, une virée Kribi - Ede& c'est bien sur l'idéal ; 2 ou 3 voitures sur le route ( ce qui n empeche pas de voir 2 ou 3 panneaux " ici 2 morts, ici 3 morts " et encore ils n'ont pas mis le dernier accident de car 10 ou 20 morts il y a pas si logntemps. les fabrquants de panneaux doivent pas pouvoir suivre tellement il y a d'accident.
Donc on vous attend avec plaisir !

Je dirais qu'en étant prudent, vous pouvez faire quelques trajets sur les routes bitumées car c'est nécessaire, mais c'est pas le plus fun.
Le vrai plaisir, c'est en prenant les pistes... Que du bonheur - quand on se protège un peu de la poussière. Et pour ça, pas besoin de super moto. Une chinoise fait bien l'affaire.
Je conseille le sud-ouest : plein de paysages et de gens sympas !
Un petit clin d'oeil à Rocket : si c'est toi le propriétaire des 4L, merci beaucoup ! c'est une super idée ! On revient d'un super week-end à campo en 4L trophy grâce à toi !
Quel plaisir de doubler les gros 4x4 aux suspensions trop raides avec une petite 4L :) Et ça attire beaucoup plus la sympathie des gens !!
ah c'est toi le client dont m'a parlé Clément ! le monde est trop petit ! ben oui je les ai importé de France et quand avec ma femme on les ramenai d'ou on les avaient acheté ( Paris, Sud de la France etc , c'est vrai que meme quand on est allé a Monaco avec les mecs en Rolls nous regardaint avec le sourire, d'autant qu il y a des klaxons " fun" avec sirène police ou aboiement de chien etc dedans, je sais pas si elles marchent encore. j'ai des clients de belgique qui doivent arriver en février et ils me demandent si je connais un guide qui peuvent les accompagner a Campo et aussi si ils peuvent trouver a dormir la bas et ou ; donc si tu sais dis moi; je leur ai dis hier qu un client avait loué une 4L et qu' aparemment ca c'était bien passé.

En effet, votre mail est d'actualité.
Français marié à une Camerounaise et installé depuis quelques mois au Cameroun, je suis entrain de créer une société de location de moto.
Je ne connais pas actuellement de société de location de moto, et le besoin existe réellement. On rencontre des touristes en moto mais ce sont leur propres motos soit venues par bateaux mais beaucoup d'entre eux partent d'Europe faire un très long circuit de plusieurs semaines. La découverte de ce beau pays en moto est quelque chose d'exceptionnelle dit on. J'ai moi même l'intention de monter visiter le Nord que je ne connais encore pas à moto.
Certain vous dirons que le permis international n'est pas nécessaire (tout s'achète ici en cas de problème, ) mais pour ma part, j'exigerai le permis international (qui est facile à obtenir rapidement en France en sous préfecture ou préfecture), j'avais moi même fait ma demande avant de partir.

Je ne voudrais pas jouer les rabat-joie mais vous allez quand même avoir pas mal de difficultés à concrétiser votre projet.
1 - vous allez avoir du mal à trouver des motos à louer.😠
2 - les routes sont dangereuses en voiture, alors en moto je vous dis pas.🏴☠️
3 - à part les grands axes (Douala-Edéa-Yaoundé, Edéa-Kribi ou Douala-Bafoussam), les pistes sont nombreuses mais mal renseignées. On peut s'y perdre ou se retrouver dans un cul-de-sac après avoir roulé des kilomètres. Il n'y a pas vraiment de cartes ou celles que l'on trouvent ne sont pas assez détaillées ou pas à jour.😕
4 - je déconseillerais à deux petites jeunes femmes de se lancer seules dans la brousse camerounaise en moto.🙁
Je pratique la moto (ou plus exactement le quad maintenant) et nous roulons régulièrement le weekend autour de Yaoundé ou d'Edéa. Nous ne faisons que de la piste (le weekend dernier samedi : 231 kms d'Edéa à Yoyo dont seulement 10 kms de goudron et encore parce qu'il nous fallait de l'essence et dimanche 145 kms dont 20 kms de bitume pour rentrer sur Edéa). Mais nous étions 6 (trois motos et 3 quads).

sinon Fildfer a quand meme un peu raison : 2 "frèles jeunes filles" a moto sur les routes du cameroun, ca va en fait pas etre si curieux qu'une Rocket3 mais pas très sécurisant

I just realized I’ve been registered on VoyageForum since... March 28, 2012 😊. Yet, I’ve barely participated until now.
August 1, 2026, will mark a somewhat special milestone: 5 years on the road.
We left Switzerland on August 1, 2021 with a simple idea: let chance decide our direction. We placed a bottle of wine on a world map, spun it... and it chose our first destination.
A year later, when we arrived in Morocco, we faced a new choice: continue toward Africa or head to Asia. This time, a tarot card game made the decision. Since then, we’ve tried to keep this journey as open to the unexpected as possible.
Today, that adds up to about 120,000 km, 46 countries, and over 1,800 days on the road—mostly by motorcycle, but also by sailboat, train, bus, hitchhiking, or on foot when adventure calls.
Our guiding thread isn’t just the motorcycle, but service exchanges. Instead of simply passing through countries, we try to stop regularly to lend a hand to the people we meet. So far, that’s about 600 days of volunteering.
Over the years, we’ve:
renovated a house in Croatia
made earth bricks in the Moroccan desert
helped sail a boat through the Greek islands
looked after houses, dogs, horses, a camel... and lots of other animals
worked at a street art festival in Morocco
created videos for local associations and projects
worked the grape harvest on the Tibetan plateau
been accredited as "media" for the World Nomad Games in Central Asia
Some of the moments that have stuck with us the most include six months in China, a night spent on the Great Wall, the Pamir Highway, the Silk Road, three months in Taiwan, and the incredible encounters in the mountains of Central Asia.
We travel on Falkor, our lucky dragon—a 2014 BMW F800GS that’s been with us since the start and is starting to have some great stories of its own.
While we share our adventure on Instagram, Polarsteps, and YouTube, that’s not why we’re here. The forum’s rules about promotion are clear, and I totally get them. I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.
I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?
Beyond the official recommendations, I’m really looking for your firsthand experiences.

Why not explore the Peloponnese!
I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.
Do a loop.
What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.

We’ve rented two Royal Enfield 450s.
This is our first motorcycle trip in Morocco. I got my license two years ago with the dream of taking this kind of trip, and here we are! ✌️😍
In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.
Here’s the idea:
Day 1 (departure at noon): Marrakech - Tizi n Test - Tafingoult (165 km - 4h15)
Day 2: Tafingoult - Amzarkou - Telouet (200 km - 4h34)
