Nous partons à deux adultes (25 ans) pour 19 jours du 3 au 21 septembre 2011, en camping car.

Alors pour Montreal, eventuellement je pense que tu peux retirer une journee. Avec les transports en communs tu peux facilement decouvrir la ville en 2 jours. Apres si tu veux approfondir ....c'est vrai un 3eme jour est le bienvenu.
Pour l'hotel ? tu recherches un hotel ? gite? auberge de jeunesse ?

Le parc de la mauricie ...bon choix ! Une journee complete, tu verras il y a une route avec des arrets point panoramique.
Ensuite si tu veux faire du canoe ...je te conseillerais une rando alliant ...canoé, puis marche (superbe, cascades, lacs, foret), puis retour en canoe. Prevoir au moins 1/2 journee mais c'est vraiement le pied car l'accés a la marche se fait uniquement en canoe. Si cela t'interesse, je pourrais eventuellement te retrouver le nom de la rando et le lieu de depart
Par contre, je ne sais pas comment cela se passe avec les Campings cars ...mais la route montreal-parc mauricie se fait facilement en 1/2 journee. Cela peut te permettre de quitter montreal le jour 4 en debut d'apres midi.
Alors ensuite c'est là que je changerais certaines choses mais peut etre souhaites tu aller vraiment dans les endroits indiqués ???
Disons que pour eventuellement t'aider, il faudrait que tu dises ce qui peut eventuellement etre enlevé ?
- Lac St jean -??? perso j'y suis aller lors de mon premier sejour, et c'est vrai que maintenant je conseil d'autres coins. D'autant plus que la route entre la mauricie et st jean ...est pas des plus belle !! bois-lac-bois-lac et c'est assez plat.
Perso je te conseillerais plutot de faire :
Mauricie - Jacques cartier. De là tu fais ton excursion a quebec (qui pour moi merite bien 2 jours, ou au pire 1jour 1/2)
Ensuite tu pars en longeant la cote nord du st laurent par la region de charlevoix qui est superbe
Tu t'arretes aux parc des gorges de la malbaie, et le parc des grand jardins. Ces 2 parcs sont tres proche et finalement on a des paysages tres differents. Ensuite tu continu vers le fjord du saguenay. Secteur baie trinité, c'est le secteur le plus accessible je pense. Faire une croisiere sur le saguenay permet d'avoir une vrai idée de ses falaises.
Tu continu ensuite vers tadoussac. Ici croisiere aux baleines (essais plutot le matin sur les premieres). autre truc a faire ...le survol en hydravion ....j'ai adoré, et surtout tu vois les baleines du ciel .....et donc tu les vois entiere !!!! en bateau tu vois juste leur dos. Mais bon les deux sont a faire.
ensuite tu passes sur la cote sud du st laurent en traversier ...
et tu reviens vers quebec en passant par les villages de la cote. Si tu peux aussi, faire le detour par le parc du bic ou tu y verras des phoques.
Ensuite ??? le mont orford? je pense que tu auras deja vu des paysages similaires avant
et Oka ? c'est la reserve Mohawk ?? que veux tu y faire ??? si tu veux connaitre la culture mohawk, ou huronne ...tu peux visiter la reserve a cote de quebec, ou tu as un village hurons reconstitué et un petit musée ...interessant.
Enfin voila .....ce que je peux t'en dire .....desolé , je t'aurais peut etre pas mal bousculer ton circuit, mais si tu as besoin d'infos, ou d'aide .....n'hesite pas ! 😉

Pour tout te dire, je cherche un bon itinéraire depuis maintenant 1 mois.
Nos billets d'avion sont réservés, les dates sont donc gelées.
En revanche, j'ai voulu faire faire un devis sur mesure sur authentik.canada.
Mais a chaque fois que je propose un itinéraire, la conseillère me le déconseille (a juste titre certainement) et m'oriente délicatement vers les itinéraires tout faits que leur site propose.
Nous avons déjà sacrifié les chutes du niagara, new york, et tout le côté Gaspésie.
Il n'y a en fait aucune destination auxquelle je tienne plus qu'une autre, nous avons surtout envie de revenir de notre voyage emerveillé et surtout en ayant l'impression d'avoir fait plein d'activités.
C'est vrai qu'en revanche, le Zoo Saint Félicien était un des seuls lieu que je ne voulais pas sacrifier, parce que nous voulions faire l'activité "Nuit avec les caribous", cad une nuit en tente avec guide, voir des caribous la nuit etc...et puis visite du Zoo qui n'est pas mal (tu l'as déjà visité, ou déjà entendu parlé de cette activité ?)
Mais on a appris que l'activité serait possible à partir de 4 personnes. Nous ne sommes donc pas sur de pouvoir le faire, mais mon compagnon y tient bcp.
Sinon j'ai regardé attentivement ton programme. je trouve ça super et c'est même le meilleur que j'ai vu pour le moment.

Possibilité d’arret à trois rivieres pour voir le vieux quartier de l’epoque Nouvelle France. Interessant si l’histoire vous interesse, sinon arret pas obligatoire a trois rivieres
Sinon pour la rando dont je te parle, sur la carte tu verras un point Wapizagongue
C’est le point de depart de la rando du lac waber (decrite sur la carte dans la case jaune a gauche de ce point de depart) Prevoir une grosse demi journee et beaucoup d’eau car pas de point de ravitaillement sur le trajet
Tu pars en canoé (environ 1h de canotage) puis tu laisses ton canoe sur une plage et tu commences la rando (env2-3 h) et retour en canoe par les meme lacs ….c’est super !

Vous avez raison de ne pas vous rendre aux chute du Niagara. C'est loin pour de l'eau qui coule!
Pour le zoo st Félicien vous avez raison le parc de la Mauricie aussi (c'est très j'ai eu un chalet dans le temps dans ce coin la)
Pour Montréal (moi je déteste la ville de 3.5 millions d'habitants)A part le vieux Montréal courage fuyons.
En sortant de la région du lac St Jean sur la route pour Tadoussac il y a une baie (si ma mémoire est bonne c'est la baie de Ste Marguerite) C'est un endroit pas très connu il faut marcher une heure mais d'arriver au bout c'est fantastique pour observer les belugas.
Perso je préfére 100 fois la Gaspésie, Gaspé et percé mais surtout l'ile de Bonne Aventure c'est le paradis.
Ne manquez pas la ville de Québec mais avant sur le retour il y a aussi Petite rivière st François (petit village ou ont débarqués les premiers colons et prisée par Rafarin et Juppé)toute la côte aussi (c'est plus beau dans l'autre sens en montant).
Je crois que l'option camping car est une solution dispendieuse. C'est peut être mieux de louer une voiture , loger chez l'habitant (Il sont très gentils et pas avares de conseils) et en motel. Si vous louez une voiture payez avant d'arriver par internet. Beaucoup de mes amis ont eu la surprise en arrivant, le vendeur se rendant compte que le client est français et boum la facture augmente.
Enfin faite comme vous voulez, mais vous aurez les larmes dans l'avion du retour.
Remarque perso; pourquoi septembre ?(c'est mieux en Mai, Juin, Juillet et Août) C'est plus froid, plus humide les journées plus courtes.

J'avais regarde une location de voiture mais après il faut manger (restau...), se loger (hôtel...) et L esprit "maison sur le dos" nous plait bien.
Ensuite, la Gaspésie nous dirait bien mais ça sera soit ça soit saint Félicien (c'est a l'opposé et nous n'avons pas bcp de temps)
J'aurais aime faire le tour Gaspésie Gaspé perce forillol bonaventure. Mais j'ai peur de manquer de temps et surtout ya til des activités ? J'ai peur de voir une succession de paysages sans plus faire la différence a la fin...
Nous avons envie d'aventure et de d'activité régulière, pas seulement de route avec des paysages, même sublimes.
Nous avons fait en 18 jours un circuit Montréal / Gaspésie en août / septembre 2006 (récit de voyage + photos ici ) et nous en gardons de très bons souvenirs

Que dire...
Ne vous prévoyez pas trop de choses à faire au départ de France faites plutôt du repérage dans les guides et laissez vous guider par les impondérables... Par exemple il pleuvait tellement au Lac St Jean quand nous y étions que nous avons fait l'impasse sur le zoo de St Félicien...
On n'a pas été super enthousiasmé par le Lac St Jean... Il est à peu près entièrement entouré de villas et quand on ne connaît pas c'est assez difficile d'accéder au rivage...
Les baleines à Tadoussac, c'était pour nous citadins, incontournable ! Et nous n'avons pas été déçus, même si là encore le temps était moyen moyen (prévoyez des pulls et des impers...)
La Gaspésie c'est très joli également. De ce côté là du St Laurent, nous avons eu très beau temps, ressorti les shorts... Il y a plein de choses à voir ou à faire... des villages-musées, de musée de la bataille de la Restigouche, les parc nationaux, et à ne pas manquer non plus : L'île de Bonnaventure et les fous de bassan...
En bons citadins, on a été aussi content de terminer notre séjour par deux grandes villes : Québec et Montréal !
Cette année, nous y sommes retournés et avions demandé à Authentik Canada de nous organiser le séjour, car je n'avais pas le temps de tout réserver de mon côté. Ils ont respecté l'itinéraire que je leur avait demandé. Ils m'ont proposé des gîtes globalement corrects.
Bon j'ai regardé un petit tour que vous pourriez eventuellement faire .....et qui est faisable en timing

Journee la plus penible en route mais un peu obligée en revenant de la gaspesie …on y passe tous ! mdr (500km – mais beaucoup de bonne route, autoroute)

Apres le jour 2 que je t'ai mis sur montreal tu peux le mettre a la fin, et donc partir 1 jour plus tot sur le parc de la mauricie. Ca te fais 2 jours complet a montreal en fin de sejour pour finalement se remettre un peut du periple. Cela permet aussi d'avoir une journee de battement au cas ou vous auriez un probleme de voiture ...et donc ne pas stressé pour votre avion.
Sinon, une solution qui est tres bien pour voyager c'est la voiture + auberge de jeunesse.
Tu peux souvent y avoir des chambres doubles comme vous etes un couple (on voyage comme ça et j'adore !). L'avantage c'est que vous pouvez vous faire vos repas vous meme dans la cuisine de l'auberge.
J'ai souvent regardé le camping-car mais finalement je suis toujours retombé sur la solution voiture - auberge de jeunesse - camping.
autre avantage de l'auberge, tu peux y faire ta lessive facilement, ce qui t'evite d'apporter 3 valises de fringues ..... mdr

De plus la camping car consomme beaucoup beaucoup plus qu'une voiture, tu te deplace moins vite, et certains endroits sont pas accessibles.

Et pour le camping ....les cmaping au quebec sont tres tres tres bien ..rien a voir avec les campings tassés de france ......
bon ben voila .....c'est vrai que c'est pas evident de concevoir un circuit , mais c'est passionant ! tu vis deux fois ton voyage !!!!

Je suis de près ce topic car ma femme et moi prévoyons de partir 3 semaines au Quebec en 2012.
On hésite entre juin ou septembre mais au vu de nombreux témoignages sur ce forum, je pense qu'on optera pour fin aout-début septembre.

Ca y'est, tout est pres, tout est payé, via le site authentik canada. Nous partons dans un mois et avons vraiment hate !!
Nous ferons sans aucun doute un blog pendant le voyage ou dès notre retour.
La première chose que je peux dire, c'est que le service Authentik Canada pour l'instant a vraiment bien fonctionné, notre conseillère nous a permis de faire un itinéraire correspondant à nos attentes, et elle a été patiente car j'ai souvent fais des modifications.
Nous n'avons rien eu à faire, elle a réservé dans chaque camping pour nous, ainsi que réserver le camping car.

Nous avons de plus rajouté (en plus des deux jours en canoe et tente camping), l'escursion à Tadoussac pour voir les baleines, une apres midi en quad dans les montagnes a tadoussac encore, un diner au homard à Percé, la ballade en bateau à l'ile bonaventure pour voir les fous de bassan.
Je trouve le prix très abordable que ce soit pour l'avion (nous décollons de Marseille, nous y habitons, et nous arrivons à Montréal sans escale pour 1200 euros aller retour pour deux....c'est vraiment bien), pour le camping car (le plus cher questio budget car nous louons un petit camping car, un TCA, une sorte de pic up avec une cabinet greffé dessus, la c'est un peu notre caprice, nous voulions celui la et avons fait des pieds et des mains mais il est aussi dans les plus chers, mais consommation d'essence très réduite...important aussi !) et enfin, Authentik Canada demande aussi des sous forcément pour l'itinéraire, la location des campings et toutes les acitivités.
Je peux te dire si tu veux à combien ça nous revient.
Nous avons soldé le tout et maintenant, il reste l'essence, les courses et les extras, c'est tout.

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏
Do you have any tips for a fun and doable itinerary over about 20–25 days with kids, without rushing?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.
I’d love to take a road trip and visit Nova Scotia. I’d appreciate some info on the best cities to see and the most interesting spots. The trip should last about 10 to 15 days, staying in hotels or motels. Thanks in advance!

Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.
We found Emmanuelle and Isabelle, and wow, they were fantastic. It was just the two of us with them, so it was a truly VIP, ultra-personalized experience. We loved it so much that we’re already planning to come back next year to explore other areas with them. I think we’ve caught the American West bug—it’s all we can think about, and we can’t wait to return.
