Cela se traite en effet et nous ne risquons probablement pas d'en mourir comme ces pauvres haïtiens mais en ce qui me concerne, je n'ai pas très envie de passer ma semaine de vacances à faire attention à tout ou pire, à être malade ; je ne peux pas non plus me permettre d'être malade au retour ; s'agissant du vaccin, il n'est pas efficace à 100 %.
Mais surtout comment être insouciant et profiter de ses vacances lorsque de l'autre côté de l'île, les gens meurent dans des conditions effroyables.
Et selon les dernières prévisions , la situation est loin de s'arranger.

"Le bilan officiel des morts du choléra est désormais de 1.415 personnes, mais les experts estiment que le vrai bilan est proche des 2.000 morts et le nombre de cas déclarés pourrait atteindre les 70.000, plutôt que les 60.000 rapportés par les autorités haïtiennes, a indiqué Nigel Fisher, le coordonnateur de l'ONU en Haïti.
Il a ajouté que l'épidémie gagnait en vitesse et que la prévision de 200.000 cas dans six mois était en-deçà de la réalité. Il a indiqué que ce chiffre serait atteint d'ici trois mois, rejoignant l'estimation fournie mardi par l'Organisation panaméricaine de la santé (OPS)".
Je dois partir le 5 janvier mais je pense, à mon regret, annuler ce voyage.
Vaccin hépatite A et B, si pas déjà reçus
Choléra très fortement recommandé, à commener 2 semaines avant le voyage; protège aussi contre la tourista, elle nous prescrit aussi un antibiotique au cas ou nous aurions la tourista quand même
Malaria très fortement recommandé.
Nous ne prendrons aucune chance et suivront religieusement ses prescriptions, en plus nous amènerons des cachets pour désinfecter l'eau au cas ou nous n'aurions pas accès à de l'eau embouteillée.
je pars le 4 Décembre prochain alors je manque de temps pour me faire donner un vaccin mais de ce que j'ai pu trouver sur le net , les derniers arrivant de la république disent tous la même chose qu'il n'y aucun danger si nous demeurons à l'hôtel et si nous prenons des précautions comme le lavage des mains fréquemment et de boire l'eau en bouteilles et de se brosser les dents avec la même eau et non celle du robinet et une dernière chose très importante de ne pas prendre de repas dans un village non connu .

pour les antibio je ne sais pas car ici c'est l'hopital qui les donnent alors ou vous demandez à votre medecin traitant , ou sur place il y a des trés trés bons hopitaux privés bien sur sur SAINT DOMINGUE ( Abreu)
je suis allée dans un hotel à bayahibe il y a 3 semaines et ils prennent des mesures pour eviter la propagation ( desinfection des mains avant l'arrivée au buffet de tout les clients, par exemple)
mais franchement en vivant et cotoyant tout les jours le village dont des haitiens et dominicains en prenant les précautions de l'eau à ne pas boire et de se desinfecter les mains regulierement les chances sont infimes .

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

I have several chronic conditions (including asthma and related ones), and I’m planning to travel for a year across different countries.
Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...

For several years now, increased aggression has been observed in Cape fur seals.
At least 70 unprovoked attacks on humans.
It was recently confirmed that this is due to rabies.
The suspected origin is contamination in Namibia by jackals.
The contagion seems to be spreading.
Preventive vaccination (of the animals) is being considered.

Rabies affects all mammals.
Once symptoms appear—sometimes weeks or even months later—death is inevitable.
It’s the bite that transmits the disease.
There are so-called "furious" forms with aggression, but also forms without aggression.
