Hi,
we’re planning to travel through Patagonia (Chile and Argentina) in February and March 2027.
From a seasonal and weather perspective, at that time of year and with hiking as our main activity, is it better to explore Patagonia from south to north or the other way around?
Thanks in advance.
Anne Marie
Back in 2017, I spent a month and a half in Chile during February and March. I started in the north around the San Pedro de Atacama region and finished in Tierra del Fuego.
In Ushuaia, the temperature was around 10°C in March (in February, it’s around 11–12°C).
So for me personally, the direction didn’t matter much.
Enjoy your trip—it’s a region I loved!
