J'envisage de faire un voyage d'une durée de 4-5 jours à Las Vegas pour août prochain et j'aurais aimé être conseiller sur le choix de l'hôtel.
J' hésite, en effet, entre le Trump international, le Mirage, le Treasure ou encore le Planet Hollywood. Quel est, selon vous, celui qui conviendrait le mieux à une famille de quatre personnes (deux adultes et deux filles de 22 et 17 ans)?
Egalement, auriez-vous d'autres suggestions?

J'ai réservé du 2 au 6 août au Wynn et j'ai déjà été au MGM.
J'ai des amis qui ont été au Flamingo et ils ont bien aimé, celui-ci est assez centré.
Le treasure pourrait être bien aussi...malheureusement je ne connais pas assez les autres pour commenter.
Après avoir longuement hésité également nous avons réservé le Treasure car les avis étaient excellents et qu'il a l'avantage d'être au milieu du strip, le soir autour il y a tous les spectacles! et coté prix, on a trouvé que c'était tout à fait correct.
A mon avis quelque soit l'hôtel on ne doit pas être vraiment déçu! à part le circus circus qu'on nous a déconseillé a plusieurs reprises!

Bonjour, Je suis allé avec 2 amis à Las Vegas au mois de mars cette année, nous avions réservé pour une semaine au Bellagio, hotel de rêve mais qui reste dans les plus cher nous avons visité tous les hotels casinos du strip et pour une famille je choisirais le Treasure Island dans tes propositions, décors d'époque " Pirate " avec un des meilleurs spectacles gratuit du strip à l'extérieur de l'hotel. Je te conseille grandement dans une de vos soirée de prendre des billets pour le Spectacle du cirque du soleil " ô " au Bellagio, c'est vraiment magique et grandiose, une chose à ne louper sous aucun prétexte, un de mes meilleurs souvenirs. Je n'ai pas fais les autres spectacles du cirque du soleil par manque de temps mais celui du Bellagio est le plus vu et sans doute le meilleur.

Bonjour, aprés trois voyages à LAS VEGAS, nous sommes allez 2 fois au FLAMINGO (que nous avons trouvé super : trés bien placé sur le strip, peu couteux, et de bonne tenue) , Par contre nous sommes allez en 2007 au LUXOR et là nous avons été relativement deçu car mis à part la piscine rien de génial !!
Alors moi je vous conseil le flamaingo pour son trés bon rapport qualité/prix.

Je te conseillerais donc le planet hollywood car il y a un centre commercial juste en dessous, comme ça les 2 filles pourront faire un peu de shopping!
La Trump tower est légèrement excentré du Strip donc pas top à mon goût où à Las Vegas tout se fait à pied
le Mirage est du côté sud du Strip, avec le NYNY, le Luxor, l'Excalibur, le MGM et le Mandalay Bay, et séparé du nord du strip par le chantier du City Center
enfin le TI est un peu plus au nord du Strip, mais bien situé quand même, mais je pense que le Planet Hollywood plaira plus aux filles que le TI qui plaira plus à un gamin de 8 ans passionné par les pirates!
Après le problème de ce genre de question c'est que tout le monde va te dire, l'hôtel que j'ai fait était bien (ou pas) mais vu que personne ne les a tous fait, c'est pas évident, en plus les prix varient tellement d'un jour à l'autre qu'un bel hôtel est bon marché un jour et passe cher le lendemain

Parmi tes propositions, je te répondrais le Mirage car bien situé sur le Strip et de plus, leur zone de piscine tropicale est vraiment agréable.
Le Planet H. est situé idéalement aussi et je trouve que le concept pourrait être sympa pour vos jeunes.
Nous avons dormi au Treasure et pas du tout aimé cet hôtel donc je ne vous le conseille pas, mais je sais que d'autres personnes sur VF l'ont apprécié...
Mis à part le fait que nous n'avons pas trouvé leur chambre nickel, l'inconvénient majeur pour nous a été leur zone de piscine qui est beaucoup trop petite pour un hôtel de cette taille, ce qui fait que les gens étaient pour ainsi dire les uns sur les autres... Je te conseille d'en tenir compte car je te garantis qu'au mois d'août la piscine, c'est primordial à Las Vegas. 😉

je me trouve sur las vegas depuis près d'un mois et parmi les casinos que vous citez, j'ai eu l'occasion de séjourner au Treasure et au Mirage. Le Treasure est à éviter car sa qualité laisse à désirer, lors du dernier pic d'affluence à vegas, tous les hotels affichaient complet, sauf le Treasure sur lequel je me suis rabattu (file d'attente très longue pour le check in, piscine petite et bondée, le casino en lui même est central mais low cost par rapport à ceux que vous citez, ma connexion internet payante ne fonctionnait pas). Le Mirage, face au Treasure, est qualité autrement meilleur que ce soit au niveau des jeux, des restaurants, de la grande piscine, du public et de la vie nocturne active, l'accueil est également efficace).
Quand au Trump, celui ci n'est pas véritablement dans le coeur du strip comparé au Treasure et au Mirage. Mais c'est un casino dernière génération, donc moderne et reposant (il a l'air comme ça). Le Planet Hollywood est central et fun, face aux fontaines du Bellagio et jouxtant le casino Paris folklorique.
Dans l'ordre (le mieux étant de séjourner dans deux casinos pour varier les plaisirs) :
1 - Mirage
2 - Hollywood
3 - Trump
4 - Treasure
Pour ma part, je conseille vivement le bel M Resort dans lequel je séjourne depuis une semaine. Calme car destiné surtout à une clientèle locale, il se situe en marge du strip au bout du Las Vegas Boulevard (navettes gratuites, 20 minutes du strip), ne serait-ce que pour le prix spécial en cours (sorti pour attirer les joueurs de poker durant le championnat du monde annuel), 75$ par jour tout compris (spa, internet, navette, repas au buffet, ...) que j'ai trouvé via un site d'info sur le poker professionnel :
Je reviens de Las Vegas. J'ai sejourné au Flamingo en chambre deluxe (même prix que pour des chambres standard dans les autres hotels). Sauf que là j'avais écran plasma'lecteur DVD, douche, Baignoir, Tv dans la salle de bain. Donc même si j'ai pas profité de tout dans cette chambre, J'ai été très emballé de la déco au confort. En plus le Flamingo est en plein milieu du strip en face du César Palace.

Finalement, nous avons opter pour le flamingo, chambre deluxe dite "go room" rénovée avec vue sur le strip. LA déco est hyoer moderne et la grande baie vitrée est indemniablement un vrai plus par rapport au Mirage. Il est également d'un excellent rapport qualité prix compte tenu de sa situation géographique en plein coeur du grand boulevard de Las vegas, centre de toutes les animations.
Il est vrai que nous aurions apprécié le M resort cité, malheuresement nous n'avons pu obtenir de chambres.
Nous partons le 10 août et espèrons vraiment, grâce à tous vos conseils, passer un excellent séjour dans cette ville.
D'ailleurs, les restaurants de la ville ne manquant pas, auriez-vous quelques idées de restaurants et buffets bon marché. Connaissez-vous les prix du restaurant de la Stratosphère? Vaut-il vraiment le coup?
Enfin, nous souhaitons visiter le grand canyon? Ainsi, connaitriez-vous des excursions mémorables à prix raisonnable?

Par contre j'ai "visiter" le restau du Paris, est la vue est magnifique,
d'ailleurs si je devais remonter qq part à Las Vegas pour avoir une vue de haut, je pense que je monterais plutôt en haut de la Tour Eiffel qu'au Strato, certes la tour Eiffel est moins haute, mais beaucoup plus centrale.
Sinon nous avons mangé un bon hamburger au Harley Davidson Cafe, lors de la soirée post mariage de Joseyam (petit coucou à l'occasion)

je vais passer 1 semaine à Vegas par année et les hôtels de la strip sont toutes magnifiques. Le Wynn est un must a voir mais dans tes choix je dirais le Treasure. Beau, bon et pas chère ( dans le contexte ! ).

Ah, très bien, je pense que nous irons sûrement faire un tour sur l'Eiffel tower. Le buffet du Wynn semble aussi très alléchant et surtout pour un budget raisonnable.
J'ai aussi entendu parler du fait qu'il était possible d'avoir accès à tous les buffets de la journée au sein d'un même restaurant pour 15 $ par personne. Est-ce exact? Si oui, de quel restaurant s'agit-il?

Nous souhaitions avoir des chambres séparées alors nous avons opté pour un appart dans l'hôtel desert rose resort. Nous l'avons réservé par voyages sncf car nous avons eu la dernière nuit gratuite. Cela nous a coûté 363, 42 euros avec les petits déjeuners compris. L'hôtel est pas situé sur le strip mais cela ne nous a posé aucun problème. Nous marchions un petit dix minutes et nous arrivions au MGM que nous traversions (rien que pour le plaisir de l'airco) et nous étions direct sur le strip...
Nous avons vraiment apprécié l'appartement. Nous avions un coin cuisine, un salon, un petit balcon, deux belles chambres et deux salles de bains. Pas de bruits provenant des couloirs, avons superbement bien dormis...L'appartement était bien propre. Il y a une piscine extérieure.
Bien sûr pas la déco des grands hôtels du strip, pas de luxe, mais vraiment aucun regret...

Par contre, y'a une super promo sur le S, vous connaissez ?
Surtout quand la personne demande un choix entre 4 hôtels et qu'elle se retrouve avec + de 10 noms maintenant 😇

Tous ces commentaires nous ont été très utiles pour réserver notre hotel car bien qu'ayant effectué des recherches au préalable, il était important de recueillir différents témoignages afin d'être sûre de notre choix.

C'est justement à cet hôtel que j'ai réservé pour la fin septembre... Et c'est grâce à ce forum et aux commentaires sur Tripadvisor que nous avons fait notre choix. Cet hôtel est classé 4e sur 292. Alors, il vaut sûrement le coup!

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏
Do you have any tips for a fun and doable itinerary over about 20–25 days with kids, without rushing?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.
I’d love to take a road trip and visit Nova Scotia. I’d appreciate some info on the best cities to see and the most interesting spots. The trip should last about 10 to 15 days, staying in hotels or motels. Thanks in advance!

Is it pretty easy to navigate Detroit Airport to catch the connecting flight to Grand Rapids (domestic flight)? There are several of them who speak English well.

I'm shocked by the price of the Upper Antelope Canyon tour—$175 for less than an hour… You might say, "if you can’t afford it…" But the real question is whether it’s really worth it, because $350 for two makes me feel like I’m getting ripped off. As you can see, we're heading back from September 6th to the 27th.
Everything’s booked for September—flights, accommodations, and the car. As I plan, I’ll be asking the experts for help. This is our second trip to California, but most of the stops are new to us.

Devil’s Kitchen and Boiling Spring Lake (Day 5)
I’ve read there are trails to access the trailheads for Cinder Cone (11 km) and Warner Valley. Are these easy trails for an SUV?
Are there any other must-see spots or things we shouldn’t miss?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.

The service was really personalized. They adapted to our pace and preferences, and we could stop whenever we wanted to take photos. It’s the luxury of being in a small private group—you’re not just a number on a big bus.
In short, we really felt like we were traveling with friends rather than professional guides. Everything’s included in the price (hotel pickup, meals, park entries, etc.), so the value for money is fair.
We loved it so much that we’re already planning to come back next year to explore other areas with them. I think we’ve caught the American West bug—it’s all we can think about, and we can’t wait to return.
