Je viens faire un résumé de mon voyage de 14 jours en floride et faire profiter des prix et experience vecu.
Nous sommes parti a 2 adultes et une fille de 13 ans.
Billets d'avion 505 euros par personne avec delta PARIS/CINCINNATI/ORLANDO retour MIAMI/NEW YORK/PARIS.
Compagnie tres light pas de télé aux sieges avec des hotesses qui ont environ 60 ans (j'exagère pas) mais pour le prix j'ai eu ce que j'ai payé.
Au retour entre NEW YORK et PARIS j'ai voyagé en vol regulier AIR FRANCE la super service personnel tres poli et disponible television aux sieges avec programmes très variés, mais la place dans les sieges de la classe économique est un scandale chez AIR FRANCE.
Location de voiture (4x4 chevrolet equinox) par autoescape 362 euros avec assurance pour 14 jours.
J'ai demandé a reserver chez Alamo car leur guichet se trouve dans l'aeroport d'ORLANDO
Location villa 600 euros la semaine a 60 km au sud d'orlando a 25 mn des parcs en voitrue 150 m2 environ 4 chambres 3 salles de bain piscine dans un parc avec gardien entouré d'un golf. Grand supermarché ouvert 24h/24 juste a la sortie de la résidence tres pratique pour eviter de manger au restaurant tous les soirs et exploser le budget (manger aussi équilibré). http://magicflvacation.com/index.html.
Pour les gens intérressés si vous telephonez au numéro indiqué sur le site c'est un français (michel) qui gere les villas avec son fils.
J'ai trouvé le rapport qualité prix tres interressant quand on sait que l'on loue un mobilhomme entre 900 et 1200 euros la semaine en France et qu il y a 25m2.
Si vous voulez Michel pour 70 dollars vous propose de venir vous cherchez a l'aeroport de vous accompagnez a la villa tres utile si vous arrivez tard le soir comme moi et que la fatigue du voyage se fat sentir.
Pour les billets des parcs j'ai choisi forfait 1 semaine UNIVERSAL STUDIO et ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE plus
2 jours a SEAWORLD 1 journée achetée la 2eme offerte j'ai prix les billets sur place a KISSIMMEE chez BILLY BOYS TICKETS

UNIVERSAL STUDIO parc avec manege avec effets speciaux et spectacle en 3D et 4D vraiment très bien a ne pas manquer.
ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE parc pour ceux qui recherche les sensations fortes.
SEAWORLD pour les amoureux de la mer et de la nature a ne pas rater.
Pour 7 dollars par personne dans le parc nous avons pu carresser des dauphins et leur donner a manger un moment vraiment inoubliable.
vous pouvez également donner des poissons a manger a des raies elles viennent vous les prendre directement dans la main.
Des spectacles vraiment magnifiques pour ceux qui ne veulent pas se faire mouiller eviter les premiers rangs lors des representations.
Pour les achats nous avons trouvé au sud d'ORLANDO près de SEAWORLD de magasins regroupant les grandes marques de vetements
Ma fille voulait que je lui achete une paire de NIKE en France valeur 150 euros evidement trop cher pour moi et bien la bas dans le magasin 45 dollars en solde la meme paire (on nous prend pour des jambons en france).
Des jeans levi's 505 a 27 dollars.😎
Nous avons evidement dépensé beaucoup d'argent la bas.
La 2eme semaine nous sommes parti a l'aventure sans reservation d'hotel direction fort myers et sanibel.
Bien sur j'avais lu sur le forum que l'on pouvait recuperer des bons de reductions pour les hotels j'en ai effectivement trouvé.
J'ai du faire une dizaine d'hotels pas un seul les a accepté, je ne sais pas pourquoi peu etre que je me suis mal débrouillé. 😕
Sanibel tres jolie péage pour acceder 10 dollars par vehicule et parking tres cher.
Nous sommes parti ensuite vers Miami nous avons dormi 2 nuits sur MIAMI BEACH au days inn je vous le deconseille il est pas tres propre avec cable electrique qui passe juste au dessus de la piscine pas tres rassurant, mais le personnel tres sympa. 90 dollars la nuit.
1 journée dans les everglades a environ 1h de voiture de Miami, bien sur a ne pas manquer le tour en Airboat
Les indiens Seminol essaye de vous vendre des mocassins mad in china 😕.
Les 2 plus beaux jours cette 2eme semaine ont été ceux passés a KEA WEST.
La route avec son pont de 10 km la mer bleue turquoise.
Nous avons assisté a un couché de soleil splendide sur le golf du mexique. Nous avions lu sur le forum qu il etait vraiment jolie et bien je confirme c'est vraiment magnifique.
La rue DUVAL de KEA WEST très animé, les bars avec chanteurs.
Nous avons dormi au Confort inn 108 euros la nuit hotel avec petit dejeuner simple mais grande chambre et propre pour 1 ou 2 nuit largement suffisant.
KEA WEST je pense que c'est vraiment l'endroit a ne pas louper en Floride.
Pour le budget tout inclus 5500 euros pour les 14 jours. 😕 au mois de fevrier

Pour la cote ouest j ai fait que 2 jours et en plus que de la plage en repos entre sanibel et naples car 1 semaine de parc d'attractions ca fatigue 🏴☠️.
Pour ce coté ci du golf du Mexique les plages sont plus belles surtout du coté de Naples enfin c'est mon avis.
Prevoyez de reserver les hotels de France car les prix sur place sont plus cher les coupons pour moi non pas fonctionnés.
Car le fonctionnement des coupons de ce que j ai pu comprendre fonctionne sur un certain nombre de chambre de l'hotel les moins chers et evidement ce sont celles que la majorité des clients reclame.
une fois le stock de chambre "coupons" sont épuisés bah vous payez le prix maximum.😕 environ 150 dollars a FORT MYERS
Pour MIAMI 2 jours me semble largement suffisant une fois les quartiers pricipaux visités. (merci a mon GPS quand meme)
Miami ne m 'a pas emballé particulierement peut etre que je n 'ai pas fouillé suffisament par manque de temps.
Les everglades vous trouverez beaucoup d'endroit pour faire des ballades en Airboat nous en avons trouvé airboat 8 personnes 20 dollars le tour de 30 mn environ mais je ne me rappelle plus le nom.
Nous avons fait egalement ALLIGATOR FARM vous pourrez aussi faire un tour en airboat dans ce parc moins interressant mais 21 dollars par personne avec l 'entrée du parc une demi journée suffit pour assister aux representations ou vous pourrez tenir dans vos bras un bébé alligator et des serpents.
Mais surtout si vous allez en floride ne pas louper KEY WEST eviter le peitit train tres cher 29 dollars qui vous fait un tour et vous arrete a 2 endroits dans des boutiques de souvenirs attrappe touristes.
vous pouvez faire la visiste du centre ville a pied et je pense que vous appreciez mieux l 'ambiance qui y regne.
Le soir coucher de soleil a ne pas rater.🙂

Pour ajouter une précision sur ce point précis : Le plus pratique (et parfois le plus économique) pour ne pas s'embarrasser de la voiture pas très utile à Key West :
Laissez la voiture sur le parking de l'hôtel (qui a toutes les chances de se trouver coté Est de l'ile, à l'opposé du secteur touristique), et commander un taxi pour se rendre sur Duval Street. De là tout se fait à pied, et il y a de quoi s'occuper tout l'après midi + la soirée. Pour revenir à l'hôtel en fin de soirée, il suffit de héler un taxi (très nombreux à roder en ville).

Je me permets de vous répondre... nous rentrons d'un mois passé en Floride avec notre fils de 3 ans.
Concernant les Everglades, nous y avons passé 3 jours coté Everglades City, tour en Airboat très sympa d'une heure à travers la mangrove et les herbes grasses. Très bien fait et bon guide.
Si cela vous tente, il y a un petit aéroport qui organise également des survols de la région. Une petite route panoramique (à éviter le dimanche) et à moins de 10miles permet d'observer cerfs, crocodiles et oiseaux.
Depuis l'est, Florida city, une route permet de rejoindre Flamingo où l'on peut faire du canoe. Sur cette route, ne pas hésiter à s'arreter pour faire de petites ballades, bien indiquées. Un conseil: arretez vous au premier Visitor center, pour leur demander une carte du parc. Doc en français également dispo.
Et entre l'est et l'ouest du parc, Shark Valley est une bonne solution pour avoir un aperçu du parc, avec une ballade en tram de 2H, commentée (en anglais et pas d'audio guide) et très bien faite aussi. Possibilité de louer des vélos.
Concernant Miami, où nous avons passé les 4 derniers jours... Contrairement aux clichés, j'ai trouvé l'ambiance très familiale, surtout à Sobe. Comme nous avions visité déjà beaucoup de sites et fait beaucoup d'activités (peche, bateau, parcs d'attractions, parcs nationaux...), nous avions opté pour du repos. Mais, à Miami, de nombreuses possibilités sont offertes aux visiteurs: tour en bateau, zoo, parc aquatique...
Des tours de la ville sont organisés en mini bus, et l'itinéraire (que nous avons suivi avec notre voiture, car donné sur le net) permet une visite des différents quartiers. Au sud, nous avons beaucoup aimé Biscayne NP.

Nous voyageons sans tour operator...
Le tour en airboat, sous les bons conseils d'un manager d'hotel, a été fait par Speedy Johnson, à Everglades City, face au B&B Ivey. Petits bateaux de 6 personnes et notre pilote Lyle était très serviable. Il aime son job!
Si on maitrise un peu l'anglais, les Rangers dans les visitors center sont une aide précieuse pour vous indiquer, en fonction de vos interets, les endroits à ne pas rater, ou les ballades et le temps de marche estimé.
Nous avons un fils de 3 ans, et donc nous avions besoin de courtes marches et en toute sécurité avec un maximum de faune, et ils ont toujours su nous orienter et nous renseigner. De même n'hésitez pas à les interpeller ou à suivre un de leurs tours dans les parcs.
Nous avons évité le tour en buggy, qui me semblait réservé à ceux qui ont de bonnes vertebres (pas mon cas), ainsi que les fermes d'alligators, préférant rencontrer la faune dans son habitat, et ont a été servi.
Je pense qu'il est judicieux de voir les deux cotés Everglades city et Flamingo. Si la faune est la même, la végétation est différente. Et pour les petites randonnées, entre Royal Palm et Flamingo, nous y avons trouvé plus d'interet.
Si vous louez un voiture, la visite est très simple en solitaire, et tout à fait sécurisée.
Nous avons logé en hotel à Bonita spring (Nord de Naples) et coté Est à Florida city.

fin fevrier j'avais 12 le matin sur Orlando et 23 l'apres midi au sud de la floride sur Naples j'avais 26 27 sur miami et key west pareil
Avant de partir j'ai regardé la météo a une semaine les temperatures augmentaient pour monter a 29 degrés alors toi fin mars les temperatures seront idelales.
Pour la voiture j'ai loué un 4x4 chevrolet equinox LS pas tres confortable au niveau conduite mais pour toi si tu cherches de la place pour les valises et poussettes c'est quand meme pas mal. Nous etions 3 le coffre tres grand pas de probleme pour tes valises et poussette 362 euros 14 jours par autoescape (alamo) reserve avant de partir car sur place tres cher.
Ne t'inquiete pas j'ai tout organisé tout seul ca s'est tres bien passé' c'est les USA quand meme donc pas de probleme la bas.

moi le GPS je l'avais acheter en france j'ai telechargé carte usa et je ne regrette pas tres utile ce petit objet.
Oui moi aussi j'ai pris garantie maximum mais fait gaffe arriver aux guichets aux USA ils vont surement essayer de te vendre d'autres options comme si tu creves ou si tu as un accident 6 dollars en plus par jour pour venir te depanner ou ils vont te proposer de te filer un modele plus gros.
Moi j' ai refusé le seul truc que tu risques d'etre obliger de payer en arrivant c'est le plein d'essence 30 dollars environ

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏
Do you have any tips for a fun and doable itinerary over about 20–25 days with kids, without rushing?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

We’ll be alternating between house swaps, motels, and campgrounds. I’ve booked all the accommodations (except the campground at Bryce since sunset bookings open only 14 days in advance) and the first activities, as well as the most touristy ones.

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.
I’d love to take a road trip and visit Nova Scotia. I’d appreciate some info on the best cities to see and the most interesting spots. The trip should last about 10 to 15 days, staying in hotels or motels. Thanks in advance!

Is it pretty easy to navigate Detroit Airport to catch the connecting flight to Grand Rapids (domestic flight)? There are several of them who speak English well.

We’d like to walk to Eagle Falls and then Eagle Lake. I’ve spotted two parking lots that seem close to each other and give access to the trailhead. Where and how do we pay for entry to Emerald Bay State Park and Inspiration Point?
**Viewpoints on the East Side:**
Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?

I'm shocked by the price of the Upper Antelope Canyon tour—$175 for less than an hour… You might say, "if you can’t afford it…" But the real question is whether it’s really worth it, because $350 for two makes me feel like I’m getting ripped off. I’ve read there are trails to access the trailheads for Cinder Cone (11 km) and Warner Valley. Are these easy trails for an SUV?
Are there any other must-see spots or things we shouldn’t miss?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

Travelers to the United States | Photo Now Mandatory Upon Entry and Exit | La Presse
I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.
We found Emmanuelle and Isabelle, and wow, they were fantastic. It was just the two of us with them, so it was a truly VIP, ultra-personalized experience. The service was really personalized. They adapted to our pace and preferences, and we could stop whenever we wanted to take photos. It’s the luxury of being in a small private group—you’re not just a number on a big bus.
In short, we really felt like we were traveling with friends rather than professional guides. Everything’s included in the price (hotel pickup, meals, park entries, etc.), so the value for money is fair.
We loved it so much that we’re already planning to come back next year to explore other areas with them. I think we’ve caught the American West bug—it’s all we can think about, and we can’t wait to return.
