TV and internet packages in Morocco

Hi there! It’s me again! For TV, you can get free cable for the basic channels. But apart from a few English channels (like MBC2), which show old American movies, most channels are in Arabic. (Except for news in French on 2M). You can also buy a "box" for 20 or 30 €, choosing your package. That way, you can access all the European and US channels, etc. It’s renewable every year. Personally, I haven’t watched TV in ages—I stream everything online. I connect my laptop to my TV with an HDMI cable, or you can use AirPlay with a Mac. With a good VPN, you can watch all the French channels online. If you buy a smart TV, you’ll also have Netflix, Amazon, etc. For internet and phone service, you’ll need to wait until you’re there. Test different providers to see which works best in your area. For example, in the city, Maroc Telecom works great, but at my place in the mountains, it doesn’t. For us, it’s a no-go. We have a subscription with a portable router that you can take anywhere. Watch out for "fake unlimited" plans. For years, "unlimited" wasn’t really unlimited. For example, with Inwi, if you exceeded a certain number of gigabytes per day, the speed would drop drastically in the evening—below 1MB—and return to normal in the morning. With Orange, if you went over 100GB in a month, the speed would drop, and you’d have to wait until the next month for it to go back to normal. I changed my plan a month ago—I went for the most expensive one, which didn’t exist before. I pay 349 MAD per month, and so far, it seems truly unlimited. And I can have up to 10 users per day. No speed issues, except when it rains! As a resident, I have a contract, but you can choose a no-commitment plan that you can cancel anytime. For phone service, you have plenty of options. It depends on whether you need more calls or internet. Plans start at 49 MAD. I have a much pricier plan to get 100GB of internet per month.
