Concernant la météo, est-il préférable de passer 1 semaine (du jeudi 10 au mercredi 16) à Ko Samet (Déjà été 2 fois) ?
Ou 1 semaine à Koh Kood. A la recherche de plages paradisiaques, surtout pour fêter un anniversaire le 15, à déguster grillade de poissons et fruits de mer, sur la plage, avec les locaux et boire un cocktail...
Est-il possible de faire les 2 ? Je ne vois pas les moyens de transports qui pourrait relier ces 2 destinations ;-(😕

Concernant, le transport bkk-Samet, se rendre à bus station Ekkamaï,
Le trajet est d'environ 3:30-4:00 et le coût pour deux personnes y compris le ferry aller-retour...500 bahts !!! étonnant non?
Le bus est confortable, ,, à l'arrivée à Samet; un motorbike /1 jour /300 bahts;
Voire avec agoda pour réservé un hôtel...
Le prix d'un mini van est plus élevé et moins spacieux, quoique depuis le port il doit en avoir qui font le trajet pour continuer la route jusqu'à Koh Chang, à quel prix ? je l'ignore, on a demander la semaine dernière pour retourner à Pattaya au lieu de Bkk et c'était 1000 bahts en mini van alors que le retour en bus a coûté 250 bahts pour deux personnes...

Bonjour Christian. Merciiiii pour ces infos. Cela fait + de 3 ans sans vacances et celles ci vont être courtes. Raison pour laquelle nous ne voulons pas prendre de risque avec Samet, pratique et à porter de bourse de Bangkok. Le problème du bus, et que nous voulons aussi récupérer et profiter du petit déjeuner à l'hôtel et na pas devoir partir à l'aube. Si le mini van ou taxi ne dépasse pas je pense les 70 €, cela reste encore raisonnable, et - cher que de prendre 2 billets A/R interne, pour se retrouver coincé sur une île... sous la pluie ;-), pour un anniversaire. J'ai vu qu'il y avait un catamaran, qui pourrait être un alternative entre le ferry et le speedboat ? Nous avions payé une fortune la 1ere fois (2013) le speedboat environ 5000 B pour 2, aller simple. Pour voir après à l'hôtel qu'il le faisait à 350 B/ Pax ou 1500 B en privé. Et comme entre temps, les Russes ont prit d'assaut Samet, notre hôtel est passé de 50 à 180 €/ Nuit !!! Alors, j'ai des doutes sur les prix des transports aussi ;-). Billets d'avion viennent d'être pris ;-). Je regarde et attend vie sur Lipe, Mook et Kood (Voir Chang). Comme je le disais, peu ou plus de ferry pour rejoindre certaines îles après le 1er mai, hôtels et restau fermés... alors si île morte et pluie, c'est pas génial ;-). En plus du côté pratique, où il y a avion + Taxi + ferry ou speedboat...
Pour Samet, nous ferons peut-être le retour en bus ? ;-)

Connaissant les deux îles, sans aucune hésitation Koh Kood, tellement plus sympa! Tout particulièrement la plage de Hat Bang bao (avec un super snorkelling). Plusieurs hébergements sympas sur place, si vous avez un peu de moyens le Natural Beach Resort est assez exceptionnel. Si vous êtes plongeurs un super club sur place BB divers

À Koh Chang, je suis aller en Février dernier et je suis très déçu du prix que nous avons eu à y rejoindre l'île de Koh way, qui est tout près ...
présentement les pluies n'ont pas commencées et c'est à partir de Juin qu'il faut s'en inquiéter...les plages de Koh Samet sont très belles...nous étions au Pandora hôtel où il y deux piscines...évidemment il faut louer un scooter...tout au bout de l'île il y a un endroit idéal pour un pic-nique que vous amènerai, et pour voir et entendre la mer depuis une certaine hauteur...Go pour Samet, pour relaxer en paix !😎!

Bonjour Duc, et merciiiii pour les conseils ET photos ! Le rêve serait de découvrir Kood, Mook ou Lipe la perle. Mais mon interrogation reste le même. Est-ce que cela est possible de faire koh Samet (pratique pour partir ou rejoindre Bangkok, en temps durée, temps météo et argent) + une de ces îles (Le - de risque de pluie) en 7 jours, du 10 au 17 mai. Quitte à prendre l'avion ou mini van et speedboat, dans la limite du raisonnable. Certaines îles sont vraiment compliquées en cette basse saison ;-( . Je note le Natural Beach Resort, à mettre sous coude. Il est magnifique ! Pour le prix, c'est pas mal pour un séjour anniversaire de 3 nuits, mais pour une semaine, je serai obligée de rentrer en stop... jusqu'en France ;-)

En venant de Bangkok, (mis à part la solution de réserver un chauffeur privé). Vous pouvez vous rendre à la station de Bus de Ekkamai. (près de chez moi)
>>> KOH KOOD Bangkok jusqu'a Trat : Départ à partir de 5 heures jusqu’à 17h30 (230 bahts en bus/ 6h de route) ou (270 bahts en minivan / 5h de route).
Puis pour 100 bahts un Songteaw (transport collectif) vous déposera à l'endroit pour prendre le ferry pour Koh Kood
PS : Ensuite vous retournez à Trat à la station de bus pour vous rendre à Koh Samet (et de Koh Samet, il y a des bus ou minivan pour rejoindre Bangkok après).

Donc, plus les 4 nuits Samet + 3 Kood ;-(. Petite question au passage ; quelle est la différence entre le Victory Monument et EKKAMAI ? Les 2 partent aussi bien à Trat que Rayong... Nous allons booker les hôtels et réserver déjà le mini van pour Koh chang terre ce soir, donc si vous pouvez m'éclairer sur certains points "régionaux", cela serait topissime ! Vos avis sont aussi les bienvenus ;-) 3 ans sans vacances !!! Je ne vois pas de mini van/bus pour le trajet de Koh Chang Terre jusqu'à Ban Phe Pier. Day 2- Mardi 8 Arrivée à 7h30 du mat. Comme nous serions chargés et un peu jetlatés, taxi direct Hotel Leuba. Je sais, mais leur petit déjeuner est vraiment à tomber et le sky bar pour toucher les étoiles. Evidement, sauf si c'est le déluge 😎 MKBK et autre pour écran iPhone et protection iPad + quelques cadeaux à ramener. Le tout, en metro et motorbike. Soir, street food market. Pourquoi pas l'omelette de Micheline Miss Jai Fai😏? ou autre SF market à nous conseiller ? Je sais, mais j'ai un estomac à la place du coeur 😛
Day 2 - Mercredi 9 THE breakfast du Lebua, et déménagement à l'hotel U Sukhumvit (On était parti pour le Siam@Siam, proche de tout), histoire d'être plus proche de EKKAMAI.
Day 3 - Jeudi 10 Départ pour Trat. Hotel Mango Beach Resort, à Koh Chang terre, pour 3 nuits. Nous avons abandonné l'idée d'aller direct à Koh Kood car départ à 5h30 du mat... Mais, si miss météo est clémente, nous prendrons alors le bateau pour profiter de Kood ! Si vous avez un lien pour les infos des ferry avec horaires et débarquement, bienvenus ;-) Une plage en particulier ? Histoire d'amortir les masques de Dark Vador et de claquer la bise aux poissons. Pas de jaloux, je biserais les poissons de chang terre, mer, Mak ou Kood ;-) !!!
Day 4 et 5 - Vendredi et samedi. Free, aviserons sur place.
Day 6 - Dimanche 11. En recherche de mini van + tarifs pour 2, pour départ à Rayong (qu'est-ce que c'est grand Rayong) pour Ban Phe Pier. Mais je vois qu'il y a plusieurs pier ;-(. ??? Ferry jusqu'à notre hôtel, normalement le Ao Cho grandview, sauf si il a triplé entre temps.
Day 7, 8, 9 Lundi 12, mardi et mercredi 15 Anniversaire sur Samet
Day 10 - Retour sur Ban Phe pour Bankok en Mini van. Si vous avez une compagnie etc. + tarif ;-) Sinon retour en taxi environ 70 € ? Un hôtel à suggérer pour last night in BKK ? Sachant que nous décollerions à 8h30 du mat, du style Icon, Siam@Siam, Centre Point, Somerset...

De Chang terre, nous aviserons pour profiter de Kood, suivant les horaires des ferry. si vous avez des suggestions pour embarquer et profiter d'une belle plage à Kood, sachant que nous devrions repartir pour Chang terre y dormir. Et un endroit pour y déjeuner sur la plage, seafood poissons.

Bonjour Bamboul. Nous avons réservé nos 3 nuits au Mango Beach Resort qui se trouve à Khlong Yai, au sud de Trat. (à 1h/ 1h30 des ports et terminaux bus) Je pensais que c'était Koh Chang, côté terre, pour pouvoir profiter de koh Chang, koh Mak et surtout, Koh Kood la belle. Cela m'apprendra à me repérer sur une carte pour les prochains booking d'hôtels 🤪Mais c'est dead. 🏴☠️On est trop éloigné, les transports hôtel jusqu'au port sont à 3000 bath pour A/R, hors ferry ou speedboat et les horaires de retour de Kood sur Trat nous empêche de la découvrir. Il ne nous reste que Koh Chang si on veut faire une de ces 3 îles. ( CB de mon conjoint perdu hier à Dubaï, opposition, donc restreint sur le retrait cash avec ma carte ;-((( ) Encore merci et top le carnet de voyage ;-). 😉Si vous avez une plage sur Chang pour cascade ou plongée tuba, je suis preneuse. Départ demaiiiiin pour Bangkok !!! 😎

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

But after checking various weather sites and reading accounts, I’m a bit worried about rain, which can apparently be frequent and heavy in February. I’d love to hear from travelers or locals who’ve been there recently.
What would be the ideal month to explore Oman without extreme heat or rain? November?
Also, it’s best to avoid visiting the wadis on weekends—does that mean Saturday and Sunday?
This year, 2026, I can only get away in April and May. I never travel during these months usually, and from what I know, they aren’t the best for India. But in such a big country, there are always spots that are better than others weather-wise.
Which region would you recommend?
Given that I’ve already traveled quite a bit in this country, and in any case, I’ll be discovering places I don’t know yet. No need for a major tourist hotspot or luxury comfort.

I’ve looked into a few different options: Brazil, Cambodia, and Ecuador. The last one really appeals to me, but what’s making me hesitate is the risk of our trip being a bit too rainy (literally ),
We’re more drawn to the Andes, exploring colonial cities, typical villages, markets, and a bit of the coast. We’ve already gotten a taste of this in Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Anyway, time’s running out, and I need to decide so I can finalize a route and book the tickets!!

I’ve planned a trip to Asia for the first half of November.
I’ll arrive in Singapore at the start of November for about 3 days, and I’ll leave from Bangkok in mid-November.
In between, I’d like to gradually head north to visit some less touristy islands on the Thai coast.
Since the weather is a big risk during this period, I’d love to hear your recommendations.

Just giving you the quick context: A group of friends and I are planning a trip to South Korea (Seoul/Busan) at the end of June/July next year. It falls right in the middle of the monsoon season, but we don’t really have other availability options.😕
I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Not sure if guidebooks, agencies, and other tour operators are keeping up by changing their visiting hours and offerings.
Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊

Hello, We’re heading to Finnish Lapland near Rovaniemi as a family at the end of February with two kids (8 and 14 years old). We’ve got direct flights with Luxairstours. The itinerary is already set, but I’m wondering if anyone has traveled with Luxair before and knows exactly what kind of clothes they provide on the second day? The agency just told me it’s a heavy-duty cold-weather suit. I’m thinking we should get Sorel Caribou boots, maybe second-hand. Here’s what I’ve already planned:
- Thermolactyl leggings and tights from Damart for the whole family as a base layer.
- A first layer of Damart socks + Nordic Stocks socks in 70% merino wool for all four of us.
- Loose fleece layers, including some Polartec.
- Ski pants for hikes.
- For my son and me, a The North Face Himalayan down parka with a hood.
- A ski parka for my husband and my 14-year-old daughter (she *really* wants a Roxy one—I hope it’ll be warm enough).
- For myself, for the flight and the first day at Santa’s village, I’ve packed The North Face winter hiking pants, a long-sleeve merino wool top from Decathlon (thin), a fleece, and my big parka.
I’m wondering if I should just pack fleece joggers or sweatpants for the kids and my husband, at least for the first and last days, to be comfortable on the plane?
I’m also planning to buy balaclavas and neck warmers in addition to our beanies, as well as mittens for all of us. I really need advice because I have no idea—I’ve never been skiing! Also, for a 4-night, 5-day trip, should I pack a second set of base layers, like from Odlo?
Of course, I’ll be leaving cotton clothes out of the suitcase.
As you can tell, I’m someone who gets cold easily—especially my feet, hands, and ears—so that’s my biggest worry. I *don’t* want to be cold, even at -20°C during dog sledding, snowmobiling, or aurora hunting when we might be standing still. We won’t be in the city, and the kids will likely spend most of their time outside, as they usually do.
