cela vous semble t-il suffisant ? (je n'ai pas pris dessous de caisse et toit car je ne compte pas faire de piste excepté pour voir bodie)

En général, les véhicules de chez HERTZ sont récents et plutôt dans les hauts de gamme.
Je ne connais pas l'agence HERTZ de LV, mais si vs ne voulez pas être importunés, vs preremplissez votre contrat sur le site HERTZ, ou vs prenez la carte HERTZ N° 1 (gratuite) Tout est donc pré rempli et on ne vs demande rien de spécial.
Comme vs avez déjà pris les options LDW CDW, on rique toutefois de vs demander si vs voulez l'option Plein d'essence (refusez) ou justement l'option Road side assistance (refusez).
Chez HERTZ, vs aurez déjà un vehicule pré affecté, (clientele d'affaire qui ne veux pas perdre de temps) MAISis vs pouvez toujours le refuser et en prendre un autre si celui ci ne vs convient pas
Herzt est une agence reputee, mais mon experience personnelle, c'est qu'ils sont ch*** (excuse mon langage). A Las Vegas, j'avais utilise e entreprise. Notre part-brise avait ete casse a cause de petits graviers sur la route, et ils n'ont pose aucun probleme.
Lorsque je loue une voiture, j'utilise generalement AVIS. Bonne voiture. Pas de probleme.

J'ai loué chez Hertz avec prise du véhicule à LAS airport. J'avais la carte Hertz Gold (gratuite comme indique par JPG13). Dans ce cas, tu n'as pas besoin de passer par le comptoir. Tu te rends directement ou se trouvent les véhicules. Il y a un panneau lumineux qui indique que tu es attendu. Tu te rends alors au bungalow hertz et on te donne le numéro de la place: le véhicule est prêt et les clefs sont sur le contact.

J'ai loué une voiture à plusieurs reprises à l'agence hertz de l'aéroport de Las Vegas et je n'ai eu aucun problème. Les voitures sont nickels et affichent peu de kilomètres. L'agent au comptoir te proposera certainement de souscrire à des assurances complémentaires mais à toi de voir à l'avance quelles sont les assurances qui te paraissent indispensables.
On te proposera peut être également de prendre une voiture d'une catégorie supérieure mais rassure toi à chaque fois il te suffira de dire que tu n'es pas intéressé et il n'y aura pas d'insistance.

Une petite question encore j'ai l'assurance bris de glace et pneu...qu'est ce que cela signifie exactement en ce qui concerne le pneu: si je creve, j'apelle une dépanneuse ou je peux changer moi meme (si il y a un crik et une roue de secoure)mais je crois que je dois aller au garage le plus proche pour remettre une nouvelle roue (afin d'avoir toujours une roue de secoure) et le je n'aurais rien a payer???? ma question est peu etre stupide mais je n'y connais rien en ce qui concerne les voitures.

salut, bon c'est pas pour te faire peur mais nous on a grave galèrer avec hertz. on avait tout réserver et payer avant de partir croyant être tranquille !!! mon oeil !!!on a passé une heure et demi pour avoir notre voiture. une Camaro.
on arrive au guichet , dejà on nous dit sorry y a de plus voiture disponible, alors qu'on avait réserver ce modèle. Donc on attend, nous fait patienter. puis nan pas possible d'attendre plus donc énervement. là on nous dit ok on a une voiture mais ça sera un Mustang. youhou la colère monte !!! puis après une attente on nous ok on a la voiture mais là on nous présente la note 400 dollars à payer alors tout que tout était régler. Waouwww je suis rouge vif. pour finir le Boss arrive et en deux minute chrono on se retrouve au volant de notre camaro. L"employée nous a bien fait c-- pendant tout ce temps pour rien.
Au retour pour rendre la voiture ça dure 1 minute le gars fait le tour de la voiture et si il n'y a rien ...basta
Ce que je retiens de ton intervention est que comme toujours s'attendre à un modèle précis , ici une Camaro réservé d'avance est presque toujours une source de problème sur place . Ça reviens souvent sur le forum peut importe l'agence.
UNE seule mauvaise expérience avec UN seul employé suffit pour dire que l'agence est a éviter. Reflexe humain mais est ce la réalité ?

Nous à l'aéroport de Houston on avait réservé une "intermediate", Toyota Corolla selon les standards, et en fait on s'est retrouvés avec une Mazda. Alors je demande à l'hôtesse si on peut plutôt avoir une américaine, elle me dit OK, me cite je ne sais plus quel modèle, et m'annonce tranquillement 2mn après que ce sera 250 bucks en plus.
Là je décline, elle ne bronche pas, "ok sir", et voilà c'est parti pour la Mazda. Pareil elle m'a demandé pour les assurances mais si tu déclines gentiment ils n'insistent pas.
Le deuxième jour on a eu un problème avec la ceinture passager qui ne s'enclenchait plus ; on est donc passés à l'agence Hertz de l'aéroport de Lafayette. Ils n'avaient pas le temps ou les outils pour réparer, rien dans notre catégorie, on s'est donc retrouvés surclassés...sans frais !! 😉
On s'est retrouvés avec une Kiv Optima flambant neuve, extra confort ! Je vais te dire que pour les 2000 bornes qu'on a fait j'ai apprécié. Et on a passé la voiture à une station de lavage avant de la rendre, ils sont attentifs à la propreté.
Donc pour moi expérience plus que positive avec Hertz, je recommande. Tous les véhicules sur le parc étaient rutilants, ils sont pros, aucun souci.
la Camaro était réserver sur hertz car tu paye plus cher mais tu es sur d'avoir le modèle réserver. les modèles haute gamme se réservent comme ça chez hertz. tu n'as qu'à lire les différents commentaires qu'ils s'essayent toujours de nous arnaquer. après des heures de vols avec la fatigue tu verras que c'est difficile de rester calme.
1° Sur le vehicule : Il est exact que HERTZ fait toute une comm sur des vehicules ADRENALINE ou PRESTIGE COLLECTION, ou vs avez un modele garanti.
Vs ne ns dites pas si vs aviez reservé la CAMARO SS dans la ADRENALINE COLLECTION, ou si vs aviez reservé une "simple" convertible sport, dans laquelle vs avez la MUSTANG ou la CAMARO normale.
2° sur la somme que HERTZ vs a demandé lorsque vs avez eu le vehicule, si je lis votre compte rendu de voyage dans un autre endroit du forum, on ne vs a pas demandé 400 $ pour avoir une CAMARO, mais plus simplement l'hotesse n'avait pas compris que la resa etait pré-paid. Une fois qu'elle a compris, elle s'est excusée, et à titre de dedommagement vs avez eu le plein gratuit.
Il y a eu effectivement un loupé au depart, mais je trouve qu'on ne peut pas vraiment parler de harcelement, et dire que tous les loueurs sont des pourris.
1°) vu que vous avez l'air de tout savoir, vous sauriez que sur hertz pour réserver une camaro vous êtes obligé de prendre une adrenaline collection et donc que le modèle réservé est sur d'être celui là !! A aucun moment je n'ai parlé de convertible.
2°) si vous savez lire sur mon résumé il est marqué 431$ que l'agence m'a réclamé pour récupérer ma camaro. cette somme était à payer alors que j'avais tout les papiers (en français) avec preuve de paiement que tout était en ordre.Donc l'hotesse était en tort sur toute la ligne et a aucun moment je n'ai eu d'excuse.. il a fallut l'intervention du responsable qui a tout régler en téléphonant à hertz belgique. et de plus je n'ai eu malheureusement pas de plein gratuit. au retour en belgique le plein m'a été retiré et j'ai beau eu demander à hertz je n'ai rien eu..
3°) a aucun moment je n'ai critiquer l'agence hertz ou autre j'ai juste écrit ce qui c'est passé là bas ou parler harcelement et dire que tout est pourri...

C'est ce que je te dis , les commentaires que j'ai lus au hasard de mes lectures sur le forum est que peut importe les agences , louer un modèle précis est souvent source d'emm... peut importe l'agence.

Je connais pas mal la question de la location de vehicule, pour louer tres souvent, notamment aux USA, et aussi pour avoir travaillé plus de 10 ans dans la location de vehicules.
C'est pourquoi sur le 1°point je signalerais qu' il y a chez HERTZ une categorie convertible (qui n'est pas dans la ADRENALINE) ou vs pouvez avoir soit une MUSTANG soit une CAMARO, en sachant que comme beaucoup preferent la MUSTANG (coffre plus grand, visibilité meilleure si capotée.)
Il y a donc des CAMARO autres que dans la gamme ADRENALINE.
Ensuite, il y a dans ADRENALINE la categorie CAMARO SS en coupé et une autre categorie en convertible.
Autrement, c'est vs meme qui dans vos messages avez dit avoir reservé une convertible, et avez mis des photos.
Je n'ai jamais cherché à excuser HERTZ pour ne pas vs avoir donné la catégorie demandée, mais je tentais une explication.
HERTZ met la barre tres haut avec cete histoire de vehicule reservé, et il est obligatoire qu'à un moment ou à un autre il y ait des loupés.(ce qui ne les excuse pas)
Pour le 2° point, je n'invente rien : dans votre message du 23 juin, vs ne faites pas reference à l'intervention du responsable d'agence, et c'est vs même qui dites que l'hotesse s'excuse
Enfin pour le harcelement , c'est vs même qui dites dans le post d'aujourd'hui "tu n'as qu'à lire les différents commentaires qu'ils s'essayent toujours de nous arnaquer" et que "L"employée nous a bien fait c-- pendant tout ce temps pour rien."C'est quand même une critique des loueurs en general et de l'agence de LV en particulier.
Entierement d'accord : Louer et surtout insister pour avoir un modele précis est source d'ennuis.
Simplement HERTZ dit qu'il garantit certains de ses modeles, ce qui le rend difficilement excusable quand il n'arrive pas à tenir ses engagements.
Il faut voir aussi que pour le personnel des compagnis de location, les voitures sont des objets completement interchangeables, et qu'il est donc pour eux difficilement concevable qu'on puisse etre fixé sur un modele precis.

Bonjour, je me greffe sur votre discussion car certains ont l'air de bien s'y connaître!
Pour un séjour dans l'Ouest en juillet ( arrivée San Francisco / retour véhicule Phoenix / via Las Vegas) je vais louer chez AVIS (plus cher mais contrat clair).
Actuellement j'ai une pré-réservation pour un SUV standard (qui se trouve être 4x4 ) pour la totalité du séjour.
Pour notre fils aîné qui a 24 ans 1/2 nous pensions prendre l'assurance "-25 ans" mais que pour les 5 premiers jours car
1- c'est cher
2- et après on roulera "un peu" moins,
mais ce n'est pas possible de faire ça, obligation de prendre cette assurance sur tout le temps de la location! Alors j'ai pensé fragmenter la location : San Francisco/ Las Vegas et Las Vegas/ Phoenix ainsi je ne prendrai l'assurance jeune conducteur que sur la première loc.
Ma question: Est-ce que je peux trouver un bon choix de SUV dans les hôtels de Las Vegas (New-York New-York le nôtre ou bien un autre pas trop loin) car si je peux éviter de passer par l'aéroport pour changer les véhicules ce serait bien!
Nous n'avons pas absolument besoin d'un 4x4 mais d'un véhicule high clearance.

Il est très facile de changer de véhicule à l'aéroport de Vegas. Il se trouve au bout du STRIP donc pas très loin de ton hotel (à l'échelle des US). Si j'étais toi je ferai le remplacement à l'aéroport sans hésiter.
Il y a des bureaux de location de voiture dans pratiquement tous les hotels du strip.
Attention tout de meme car certains sont des vrais centres, avec parking reservé et des vehicules dispo, et d'autres plus simples ou vs ne pouvez que prendre une voiture déjà reservée, avec moins de personnel et donc moins de permanence.
Si vs faites une resa pour un vehicule sur le site AVIS, vous pouvez choisir n'importe quel centre. La voiture vs attendra.
Mais comme dit plus haut, à votre place j'irais changer de vehicule à l'aeroport : plus simple pour rendre la voiture et pour en prendre une nouvelle, enfin il n'est pas toujours facile de trouver le bureau de location dans ces grands hotels.

Oui mais, de mémoire, il me semble cependant que le centre de retour des véhicules de location était un peu plus loin (et, par exemple, qu'il faille prendre une navette ensuite pour rejoindre les terminaux).
Penser également à bien s'assurer que la récupération du véhicule se fait au même lieu!
Je ne connais pas pour LV, mais j'ai déjà constaté dans certains aéroports aux US que le parking de prise du véhicule n'était pas situé au même endroit que le centre de retour des véhicules de loc. Y être vigilant, donc.
A titre perso, lorsque je fais des changements de véhicules chez Avis en cours de route, je le fais dans des magasins Sears (grande enseigne d'entretien des véhicules, genre Norauto ou Feu Vert en France). Ils sont généralement dans des centres commerciaux en périphérie assez faciles d'accès. Regarde si tu en as sur ton parcours avant d'arriver à LV ?
Par contre, peu de choix de véhicule. Mais à moins qu'il faille faire la maintenance (j'ai eu le tour l'été dernier), ils laissent facilement le véhicule que l'on a déjà, mais avec un nouveau contrat.
Dans mon cas, j'ai fais un changement de véhicule à LV airport et c'était au même endroit. De plus, l'accès se fait facilement. Tiu identifie facilement le batiment sur google earth.

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏
Do you have any tips for a fun and doable itinerary over about 20–25 days with kids, without rushing?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.
I’d love to take a road trip and visit Nova Scotia. I’d appreciate some info on the best cities to see and the most interesting spots. The trip should last about 10 to 15 days, staying in hotels or motels. Thanks in advance!

Is it pretty easy to navigate Detroit Airport to catch the connecting flight to Grand Rapids (domestic flight)? There are several of them who speak English well.

We’d like to walk to Eagle Falls and then Eagle Lake. I’ve spotted two parking lots that seem close to each other and give access to the trailhead. Where and how do we pay for entry to Emerald Bay State Park and Inspiration Point?

I'm shocked by the price of the Upper Antelope Canyon tour—$175 for less than an hour… You might say, "if you can’t afford it…" But the real question is whether it’s really worth it, because $350 for two makes me feel like I’m getting ripped off. As you can see, we're heading back from September 6th to the 27th.
Everything’s booked for September—flights, accommodations, and the car. As I plan, I’ll be asking the experts for help. This is our second trip to California, but most of the stops are new to us.

Devil’s Kitchen and Boiling Spring Lake (Day 5)
I’ve read there are trails to access the trailheads for Cinder Cone (11 km) and Warner Valley. Are these easy trails for an SUV?
Are there any other must-see spots or things we shouldn’t miss?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.
We found Emmanuelle and Isabelle, and wow, they were fantastic. It was just the two of us with them, so it was a truly VIP, ultra-personalized experience. They treated us like royalty from start to finish. These two live in Las Vegas and know the region like the back of their hand. They told us they’ve spent over 15 years exploring every corner of the American West, and it really shows. Their knowledge of geology, park history, and local anecdotes is just impressive. The service was really personalized. They adapted to our pace and preferences, and we could stop whenever we wanted to take photos. It’s the luxury of being in a small private group—you’re not just a number on a big bus.
In short, we really felt like we were traveling with friends rather than professional guides. Everything’s included in the price (hotel pickup, meals, park entries, etc.), so the value for money is fair.
We loved it so much that we’re already planning to come back next year to explore other areas with them. I think we’ve caught the American West bug—it’s all we can think about, and we can’t wait to return.
