Where to stay in Rio, Paraty, and Iguazu Falls?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for accommodation in these three destinations, with a budget of 100 € per person max including breakfast. I’d prefer places by the water for the first two spots and somewhere halfway between the main sights for Iguazu. Could you help me out? Thanks! 😊

Hi there,

I can only give you the name of a hotel in Rio where we’ve stayed twice because it’s really great and the neighborhood is fantastic. We much preferred Flamengo to Copacabana, where there’s no greenery.

Elegance Praia Hotel with a huge breakfast buffet and a jacuzzi in the room—I booked it on Booking.com. Prices vary by season, between 50 and 80 €.

In the Flamengo neighborhood, on a pretty quiet street, if you go left when you leave, you’ll hit the beach, and if you go right, you’ll find a street that’s lively day and night with the metro, tons of shops and restaurants, and even a Carrefour. We walked to Corcovado, but a Grab taxi app ride costs practically nothing. I love Flamengo Beach because there’s so much greenery—it’s really well set up with picnic areas, a tree park, and a promenade along the sea. From there, you can see Sugarloaf Mountain, and if you turn around, you’ll see Corcovado. Santos Dumont Airport for domestic flights is just 15 minutes away by taxi.
Cordialement, Patrick.

Thanks for your quick and helpful reply—I’m just starting my research for a trip next winter. I don’t know the exact month yet, but I’ll be there for a full 15 days, departing from Bordeaux. Best regards,

Okay, finding flights is a good start. From Bordeaux, you’ll need to make a mandatory stopover in Europe or Paris, depending on the airline.

Happy searching—it’s totally worth it! [;)]
