Hi there,
I can only give you the name of a hotel in Rio where we’ve stayed twice because it’s really great and the neighborhood is fantastic. We much preferred Flamengo to Copacabana, where there’s no greenery.
Elegance Praia Hotel with a huge breakfast buffet and a jacuzzi in the room—I booked it on Booking.com. Prices vary by season, between 50 and 80 €.
In the Flamengo neighborhood, on a pretty quiet street, if you go left when you leave, you’ll hit the beach, and if you go right, you’ll find a street that’s lively day and night with the metro, tons of shops and restaurants, and even a Carrefour. We walked to Corcovado, but a Grab taxi app ride costs practically nothing.
I love Flamengo Beach because there’s so much greenery—it’s really well set up with picnic areas, a tree park, and a promenade along the sea. From there, you can see Sugarloaf Mountain, and if you turn around, you’ll see Corcovado.
Santos Dumont Airport for domestic flights is just 15 minutes away by taxi.
Cordialement,
Patrick.
