Je pars pour 10j à Madagascar fin Mai donc je suis en train de mettre à jour mes vaccins.
J'habite actuellement en Allemagne et je suis donc allé voir un médecin allemand. Elle a sorti un guide publié par le ministère de la santé allemand (ou équivalent) et a comparé avec mon carnet de santé. Elle m'a donc prescrit un rappel pour le DT Polio Coqueluche, un rappel pour l'hépatite B et de la Malarone.
Concernant l'hépatite A et la fièvre typhoïde, elle ne m'a pas prescrit les vaccins et m'a juste recommandé de laver les aliments à l'eau en bouteille et de peler les fruits.
Je trouve ca un peu louche. Il est vrai que je pars que 10j, c'est peut etre la raison.
Qu'en pensez vous???
bjr. je pense que votre médecin a raison mais si vous doutez, allez en voir un autre...
que vous partiez 8 jours ou 10 ans vous devrez laver les légumes comme il faut, peler les aliments etc... Il n'y a rien de louche ... de même le soir vous devrez porter des vetements manche longue, + répulsif pour les moustiques, rien de louche...

Le rappel pour l'hépatite B, j'en veux pas. Ca me parait completement inutile (vu que g deja fais les vaccins avant mes 15 ans ainsi qu'un rappel et vu les modes de transmission du virus).
Par contre je vais demander un autre avis concernant la fievre typhoide et l'hépatite A qui me paraissent beaucoup plus important.

la typhoïde ? pas vraiement necessaire. mais vous posez des questions et vous ne prenez que vos propres réponses, c'est bien....😄 pour le rappel de l'hépatite B il est conseillé de le faire. comme la A. je vis en partie a madagascar donc je crois savoir ce qui va ou pas, mais bon, allez voir un autre médecin et surtout dites lui de vous dire ce que vous voulez entendre....😏
C'est qu'entre temps, j'ai eu l'occasion de discuter avec un medecin francais qui a eu l'occasion de venir à Madagascar.
Nous avons conclu que concernant l'hepatite B, au vu de mon schéma de vaccination, le rappel est inutile.
Pour l'hepatite A et la fievre typhoide, rien d'obligatoire mais il me les a tout de meme conseilles. C'est pour ca que je vais voir aupres d'un autre medecin mais je vais plutot insister pour les obtenir.

en effet, le rappel d'hépatite B ne semble pas vraiment utile, ou alors après vérification de votre quantité d'anticorps, s'il n'y en a pas assez.
Pour hépatite A et typhoide, laver les légumes à l'eau en bouteille OK mais quel touriste en vacances achète ses propres légumes et prépare sa propre bouffe au bord de la route ?? Il est difficile de gérer ce risque là à 100% !
En plus le vaccin contre l'hépatite A protège pour 10 ans et donc pour vos futurs voyages aussi...

Maintenant pour le lavage des fruits et légumes je ne suis pas sure que les restaurateurs le fasse à l'eau bouteille, mais j'ai posé la question à plusieurs ils affirment qu'il font bouillir l'eau pour le nettoyage des aliments, faire les glaçons etc... J'ai fait 2 sejours d'un mois dans le sud et dans le nord de l'ile. J'ai bu l'eau du robinet, l'eau des puits souvent trouble et chargée (quand on a soif depuis 3h et que la tete commence à tourner par déshydratation, on se rue sur n'importe quelle eau et on boit tout !). J'ai mangé des fruits et des légumes achetés sur les marchés, pas lavés. N'allez jamais voir en cuisine comment ça se passe, vous ne mangerez plus jamais !
Je me rappelle les conseils de mon médecin, la premiere fois que je suis parti. "Surtout, demandez aux gens qui vous préparent à manger de bien se laver les mains avant de cuisiner, et de laver les fruits et légumes". Tu te vois aller en cuisine controler ça ???? Surtout dans le sud ou l'eau est une denrée rare.
Et eux, sur place, tu crois qu'ils vivent comment ? Je te raconte pas les gargottes de la gare routière à coté des "toilettes" et les rats qui courent partout ! Les odeurs pestilentielles que la chaleur s'ingenue à venir chatouiller tes narines. Eh oui, c'est ça l'afrique ! faut vous y faire. N'essayez pas de transposer vos vies coincées et surmédicalisées à Madagascar. Alors que vous etes malades en occident au moindre petit virus qui passe...
Pour ceux qui n'ont jamais bu de café dans la rue, voila comment ca se passe. Il y a un plateau de bois sur 2 tréteaux, une marmite de cafe qui reste sur le feu (réchau à bois) par terre, une bassine d'eau pour rincer les tasses et qui fera la journée. Les tasses retournées sur la table, encore mouillées du dernier rinçage. La dame ou le monsieur en prend une, la plonge dans le café et te demande 100 ar. Idem pour manger, chacun touche tout pour choisir le meilleur. T'imagines tous les germes qu'il peut y avoir sur la nourriture ... mais notre corps est normalement armé pour se défendre contre ça, quand on n'est pas bourré d'antibiotiques et qu'on ne passe pas sont temps à se laver les mains et à tout stériliser ! Mélangeons nous, nous serons plus fort ! Allez, courage, restez chez vous.
L'eau utilisée en restauration pour nettoyer les légumes ou servir en cuisine n'est pas bouillie en général car l'énergie coute chère la bas.
Par contre, ce qui est le plus couramment pratiqué, c'est l'utilisation d'un désinfectant vendu en flacon plastique bleu " sur eau" avec quelques gouttes pour 10 litres d'eau à traiter.
Pour les glaçons, dans les endroits fréquentés par les touristes, "l'eau vive" est généralement utilisée .
La tourista n'est pas un mythe du parano mais une réalité qui touche aussi "les baroudeurs de forum".

Bonsoir Philippe, tout le monde n'est pas aussi fort et courageux que vous et bien que vous soyez un grand aventurier je ne donnerai pas le même conseil, il est dommage de se gâcher les vacances pour quelques négligences et il est préférable de boire de l'eau bouteille lors d'un séjour de quelques semaines 🙂 Maintenant il est vrai que chacun fait comme il veut mais j'ai tout de même rencontré des voyageurs pourtant habitués qui regrettez de n'avoir pas pris certaines précautions de base 😛 Mais bon je n'ai pas votre expérience et vos conseils sont très avisés, vous avez sans doute raison de dire aux personnes qui se renseignent de rester chez eux et il est aussi bien connu que les malgaches ont une espérance de vie élevée. comme tu l'as certainement lu, rien n'est vraiment obligatoire, c'est à toi de voir ce que tu veux faire ou pas. tout dépend aussi du temps qu'il te reste avant de partir car les différents vaccins que tu devras faire ne se feront pas tous en 1 seule fois mais espacés de plusieurs jours pour éviter les complications et les intéractions inattendues.
Personnellement, j'étais à jour pour les classiques (DT Polio, etc). Je n'ai pas voulu faire un rappel pour l'hepatite B étant donné les modes de transmission du virus (sang contaminé et/ou relations sexuelles non protégées) et le fait que je sois deja protégé par mes vaccinations precedentes. Ce n'est que mon avis personnel. L'idéal étant de faire un dosage des anticorps circulants pour l'hepatite B. si les anticorps sont présents, pas besoin de rappel.
En revanche j'ai choisi de me faire vacciner pour la fièvre typhoide et l'hépatite A. il faut savoir que le vaccin contre la fievre typhoide (maladie provoqué par la bactérie Salmonella typhi) n'est pas forcement efficace contre toutes les souches de cette bactérie et que sa durée est de 3 à 5 ans. Pour l'hépatite A, même si le virus est peu présent à Mada, il se transmet par l'eau donc j'ai préféré prendre des précautions. En plus il est très bien toléré par l'organisme.

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.

Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...
