J'ai délaissé la République pour Cuba depuis un certains temps et là je voudrais y aller de nouveau mais je me pose plusieurs questions car j'entends parler problème de santé, de maladie que des touristes semblent avoir eux etc.. et même qu'il est bon de prendre des médicaments ou vaccin avant de partir....
J'imagine qu'il y a des gens qui sont passés par la République dernièrement, pouvez vous me dire qu'est-ce qu'il en est au juste

Moi jen revien de punta cana et ya pa du tou de maladie je nai fai aucun vaccin ni aucun tretemen ces pa la peine. mon docteur me la sertifié. il fau juste par contre amener du produi moustik et sen metre tou le tem parce ke les moustik son gro et ces a cose deu qu'on atrape les maladie. moi jai acheter a carrefour une lotion anti insecte et je me suis pa fait piké une seule foi!!
Ma soeur est egalemen parti a punta cana et na rien eu besoin de faire.
il est juste recomender pour les personne qui voyage pret de haiti.

Je suis allé en République Dominicaine 1 fois déjà et nous y retournons (avec les enfants cette fois) en décembre et nous ne sommes pas vaccinés. Je me suis bel et bien renseignée mais les frais sont tres élevés versus les risques qui sont minimes.
En fait l'hepatite, on peut l'attrapper autant ici que là bas. La seule difference là bas c'est la malaria qui "pourrait" être transmissible par les insectes mais un bon insectifuge regle le probleme.
Et même encore, la derniere fois que j'y suis allée je n'avais aucun insectifuge, je n'ai pas été piquée une seule fois.
En fait si les risques étaient si élevés, les gouvernements obligeraient la population à se faire vacciner.

😎Je confirme les precedents aucun risque pour la santé.J y suis allé en avril 2007 avec ma femme et mes deux enfants (10 et 15) aucun souci.Juste les cachets pour la tourista a prendre régulierement. Sur place nous avons cotoyés des gens agés (83 ans) et eux pareils aucun problème et pourtant plusieurs voyages en RD. Parter sans crainte et bonnes vacances!!!
Tous depend un peu de l'endroit ou vous comptez vous rendre....
Les problemes de maladie transmises par les moustique sont plutot du cote de haiti donc de l'ouest de l'ile... et la y'a pas de prevention si ce n'est les cremes anti-moustique et aerosols efficace que vous trouvez facilement sur place, un rappel ou vaccin pour les hepatite me semble de bon aloi, attention au delai de validation....
Puis y'a aussi et surtout le SIDA et la ceux de 13 ans de votre groupe ne devrait pas etre concerne, par contre ceux de 70 ans un peu plus... donc la une seule solution sorter couvert.. puis c'est la saison des pluies ... ca facilite et ca passe inapercu (je plaisante bien sur)...

De toutes les réponses je n'ai vu personne parler del dengue, proche cousin de la fievre jaune qui de epidemie est entrain de devenir pandemie au sein de la population ( les gens en meurt), je connais personnellement 3 Francais touches par cette maladie et il ne vivaient pas du coté de Haiti, il ne faut pas raconter n'importe quoi.
Cette maladie transmise par les moustiques est plus presente dans les quartiers aux conditions sanitaires précaires, mais des 3 personnes infectées, aucune ne vie dans un quartier pauvre, au contraire, donc prudence. Il est vrai qu'ici, vu la baisse legere de la courbe du tourisme, tout est occulte, que ce soit pour la securite ou pour la sante, parfois il est suffisant grace a internet, de se connecter a un journal quotidien Dominicain et ceux pendant une semaine, pour avoir une idée plus précise des réalités.
Si il, y a quelqu'un qui ne cache rien des realites de la Republique Dominicaine, je crois ne pas etre loin de cette personne.
Effectivement la dengue n'est pas une petite affaire si on a le malheur de se faire piquer par le mauvais moustique. Mais puisque tu parle d'insecurite, dans ma ville de Rep. Dom pas plus tard qu'il y'a deux semaine il y a eu trois italien assassine pour presque rien et le semaine passer agression sur un allemand et la fille presente a ses cotes qui a voulu s'interposer du bras (l'agresseur utilisait un coupe-coupe) lui a trancher la main et n'a pas empecher que le touriste prenne lui aussi 2 coup un a l'epaule et un sur le bras, pour la petiite histoire on a retrouver la main de la fille a 400 metres sur la plage au petit matin et ce la s'est passe a 100m du commissariat de la police national... quand on sait qu'ils sont toujours sur le trottoir les flics ici... on peut se demander qu'esr ce qui est le plus dangereux -- les moustiques ... ou les drogués ????
Ecoute, il y a toujours des risques 😛 lorsqu'on voyage mais on ne va pas s'énerver pour ça. Santé Canada ne fait que nous avertir afin que l'on prenne des décisions informées et ainsi agir en conséquence. Il est vrai qu'il y a eu une épidémie de Malaria en 2006 et cela dans un resort à Punta Cana, mais avec les bons médicaments et un aérosol contre les moustiques il n'y aura pas de problème. C'est comme chez nous avec le virus du Nil: cela ne nous empêche pas de sortir l'été ou de recevoir des touristes.
Je reviens de Punta Cana et ai pris toutes les précautions nécessaires pour éviter les mauvaises surprises:
Je me suis faite vacciner pour l'hépatite A & B l'an passé(cela dure 20 ans) et j'ai pris une prescription de NOVOCHLOROQUINE contre le paludisme (malaria). Ce sont 2 comprimés que tu prends une semaine avant ton départ, 2 comprimés à ton arrivée (au souper) et 2 comprimés à toutes les semaines pendant 4 semaines après ton arrivée donc un total de 12 comprimés pour un voyage de 7 jours. C'est pas compliqué, cela te donnes une tranquilité d'esprit et tu profites alors pleinement de ton voyage. J'ai aussi demandé pour une prescpition de Cipro contre la Tourista si jamais la diharée arrive et que l'Imodium ne fonctionne pas 🤪. Ce n'est pas si dispendieux que cela et cela donne une tranquilité d'esprit. Je crois qu'il vaut mieux dépenser un peu et s'assurer de ne pas avoir de mauvaises surprises plutôt que dire plus tard: "j'aurais dû..."😛
Tu peux obtenir tout ça avec ton médecin de famille ou à une clinique de voyage comme VoyageSanté, il y en a partout au Québec. Sache par contre, que si tu ne te sens pas confortable, n'y va pas!
Mais moi, je ne stresserais pas et en profiterais!! D'ailleurs, c'est ce que j'ai fait!

Nous nous sommes fait piquer contre l'hépatite et pour le reste j'ai décidé de ne pas prendre les médicaments contre la malaria, j, ai entendu dire que ça peut rendre malade qu, il ya des effets secondaire. et en plus après avoir parlé avec plusieurs personnes qui y avaient été et après même avoir parler avec mon médecin.. une bonne crème anti-moustique et de faire attention bien entendu c'est suffisant.. en fait nous ne comptons pas aller se promener hors de l'hôtel alors il ne faut pas venir fou non plus comme tu dis ici aussi nous avons le vérus du nil et ont sort bien pareil....
Bon alors bon voyage! En passant, pour moi, à part goûter très mauvais 🤪, je n'ai eu aucun effets secondaires avec les comprimés contre la malaria...à y penser pour une prochaine fois...😉

juste pour information : je reviens de rep dom (10 jours a l iberostar punta cana) et le dernier jour j ai eu ce qu on peut appeler la tourista (desole ce n est pas tres poetique) et le trajet fut assez long !!!
le probleme c est que depuis ça ne guerit pas bien : je n ai plus de turista mais toujours des douleurs aux intestins tres desagreables et ce depuis deja 1 semaine : je vais d ailleurs consulter un medecin prochainement pour savoir ce qu il en est
et j ai ete pique plusieurs fois par des moustiques...😕
Je suis désolée d'apprendre cela. Je suis de retour et suis très contente d'avoir pris tous les médicaments et vaccins avant de partir et sur le site car tu n'es pas la seule à avoir vécu de mauvaises expériences.

Je me permets juste de vous faire remarquer que contre une forte tourista, des amibes, et tout un tas de problemes intestinaux tous les vaccins et medicaments que vous evoquez ne sont d'aucune utilite.
J'ai entendu parler de ce vaccin contre la tourista il y a peu, je me rappelais plus le nom. L'avez vous essayé et apprécié bénéfiquement ? Si celà peut éviter d'être malade et de perdre du temps sur ses vacances c'est intéressant.
Si, je l'ai utilisé et je n'ai eu aucun problème. Mon frère l'avait déjà pris il y a 5 ans lorsqu'il est allé à Hong Kong et là aussi aucun effet secondaire et aucune mauvaise surprise!!!!🤪

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

I have several chronic conditions (including asthma and related ones), and I’m planning to travel for a year across different countries.
Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...

We, as parents, have been through it in Egypt with pretty bad cases, but we’d really like to avoid that for our daughter. For several years now, increased aggression has been observed in Cape fur seals.
At least 70 unprovoked attacks on humans.
It was recently confirmed that this is due to rabies.
The suspected origin is contamination in Namibia by jackals.
The contagion seems to be spreading.
Preventive vaccination (of the animals) is being considered.
Just a reminder:
Rabies affects all mammals.
Once symptoms appear—sometimes weeks or even months later—death is inevitable.
It’s the bite that transmits the disease.
There are so-called "furious" forms with aggression, but also forms without aggression.
In case of a bite, in addition to standard wound care, tetanus prevention… rabies prevention is essential.
