Nous sommes 4 amis a partir fin avril pour une virée de 8 jours en moto. Nous sommes bien équipés avec des motos utilisables sur route et piste (entre 650 et 800cc). Nous souhaitons principalement rouler sur route mais nous ne sommes pas contre une piste de temps en temps si celle ci est roulante et vaut le détour (paysage, curiosité, point de vue etc.).
Nous arrivons et repartons de Marrakech ou nous avons loué nos 4 motos. Nous souhaitons visiter la vallée du Draa et la vallée du Dades lors de ce voyage mais je ne me rends pas compte du temps nécessaire pour visiter ces deux vallées magnifiques. De plus, en faisant des recherches d'itinéraire, je n'ai pas pu clairement voir si les deux extrémités de ces vallées peuvent être reliées par une route ou une piste afin de faire une "boucle".
On nous conseille d'aller dormir dans des troglodytes lors de notre séjour. Si nous restons sur notre idée de départ de faire vallée du Draa+Dades, ou peut on trouver ces fameuses grottes?
Si d'autres motards ou aventuriers présents sur le forum on déjà visités cette région du Maroc, merci de nous donner vos impressions par rapport aux éléments que je viens de vous présenter.

Marrakech-telouet -piste pour tamdazkht et ait bebhadou-route pour ouerzazate-piste pour oasis fint-retour sur route-agdz-tamnougalt-prendre une nouvelle route qui longe la rive gauche du draa et se termine en piste jusqu'à tansikht-route pour nekob-prendre la piste du saghro via le tizi n tazzazert et qui rejoint avant ikniouin la route pour boumalne dades-aller jusqu'aux gorges de dades et au retour au village ait youl, près de la kasbah du glaoui, prendre la piste qui va à tamalout-route pour bouthrarar-el kalla mgouna-skoura et prendre ensuite avant ouerzazate la route R307 pour assermo-toufrine.Si vous avez le temps vous pouvez à toufrine prendre sur votre droite un piste qui longe la magnifique vallée de la tassaout en passant par ifoulou-fakour-ait ali nito(gite)-megdaz, un des plus beau village du haut atlas et retour à toufrine-route pour imi n ifri-demnate -sidi rahal-marrakech.

il faut te procurer la michelin 742 édition 5-2009.où tu trouveras le maximum d'infos sur cet itinéraire.J'ai parcouru plus d'une fois et bien d'autres cet itinéraire en 4x4.
A mon avis c'est faisable en 8j.Sur place tu pourras l'adapter en fonction de tes besoins.

On trouve cette carte dans la plupart des grandes surfaces qui ont un présentoir de cartes.

Quand je regarde ton image, je me dis que ce ne va pas être simple de relier l'extermité de la vallée du Draa à l'extrémité de la vallée du Dades (ou inversement) afin de faire une boucle. Je ne vois pas clairement des routes ou pistes mais c'est peut être parce que ton image est petite. Je vais regarder plus en détails sur la carte Michelin que je vais aller acheter.

Perso pour 8 jours de Marrakech , je ferais le Tizi 'N'Tichka jusqu'a Ouarzazate en prenant bien soins de m'arreter a AIT BENHADDOU je Zapperais le DRAA pour filer sur les gorges DADES et ensuite la vallée du Todra toute proche puis rejoindre Azilal , les cascades d'OUZOUD puis retour sur Marrakech 😉😉
Moi si c'etait a refaire je referais ça 😛 a Ait Bennhaddou y a la Rose des Sables comme hotel qui est tres bien et dans les gorges du DADES plusieurs Francais dont 1 : le Marabout / chez Eric / km 15 .c'est a dire a 15 km de Boulmane du Dades en direction des Gorges , il est sur la gauche 😎, la carte c'est la 742 Michelin mais elle n'est pas tres a jour en particulier j'ai vu y a 2 ans que du haut du Todra , on pouvait facilement rejoindre Azilal en passsant par la cathedrale (rocher en forme de cathedrale) Bonnes Vacances 😛

Tenez vous en à votre itinéraire, il est très bien, les pistes du haut atlas étant encore en mauvais état en avril à la sortie de l'hiver.
N.B.il n'y a pas de liaison directe ni par route ni par piste entre le "haut todgha" et la "cathédrale sur la piste tilouguite/zawiat ahansal.Par ailleurs piste en mauvais état à la suite d'orages d'été.Du todgha itinéraire possible:ait hani-agoudal-imilchil-tagueft-ouaouizarht-tilouguite-imi nwarg-cathédrale.

dis mois, peux tu m'indiquer si la piste entre Iknioun et Alnif est pratiquable en moto, quad et 4X4. on m'a dit qu'elle était en trés mauvais état aux alentours d'un village, et qu'il fallait prendre des sangles pour passer les motos. je dois y passer le 19 avril prochain, et j'aimerais pas avoir de mauvaises surprises.

Iknioun , Alnif, c'est le Bougafer profond, cela fait 5/6 ans que je n'y ai pas mis les pieds, en VTT, il y avait des parties en portage ! et un ami qui y a sa famille, m'a dit à l'automne que cela ne s'était pas amélioré..... attendons l'avis de Larazou, motre bon maitre es pistes.
Nous partons pour Marrakesh en avril prochain en duo et nous souhaitons louer soit une moto soit une voiture avec un budget limité, je constate que c'est assez difficile de voyager sans véhicule dans les régions de ouazazatte, Er-rachidi, merzouga, ... Nous avons 3 semaines. Quelles sont les prix soit à Marrakesk, soit à ouarzazatte? Combien avez-vous payé pour vos motos?

Effectivement, piste en très mauvais, une des plus mauvaises que j'ai eu à emprunter en 4x4.Les intempéries de cet hiver, ont du la dévaster d'avantage.

Pour les motos, nous avons payé environ 90 euros par jour de location. Ce sont de très bonnes motos : BMW 850 GS.
J'ai bien reçu la carte IGN qui semble claire. J'ai tracé la route pour le séjour et le parcours proposé par larazou est très bien. Je pense que c'est environ 50% route et 50% piste ce qui me va très bien.
J'ai juste un petit doute sur l'oasis de Fint , au sud de ouarzazate. J'ai essayé de me renseigner sur le net et je ne trouve pas d'info intéressante sur le sujet. Je me demande si cela vaut vraiment le détour. Nous verrons sur place...

L'oasis de fint , c'est sympa, et il faut en profiter maintenant avant que les autocars ne soient attirés par le goudronnage de la route.
et ce n'est qu'un détour de 20 km A/R.
Il y a une auberge, d'assez bonne réputation.
Alors pourquoi pas... Maintenant, je vais rechercher des hôtels/auberges sympas et plutôt confortable pour les nuits. Pensez vous que nous pouvons trouver des hôtels/riads (avec piscine) dans cette région?

Tentative de passage (en 4x4 haut sur roues, bien sûr!) Alnif-Iknioun via Bougafer, novembre 2010:
Pas de problème particulier jusqu'à Qadem (à noter que, qques kms avant Qadem, une piste récente et, m'a-t-on dit, roulante, part sur Iknioun).
Ensuite, avant la montée vers le col (photo 2), un passage risque de ne pas rester praticable longtemps (photo 1).
Dans la redescente vers Iknioun, qques kms après le col, un tout petit oued est bordé, côté sud, par une marche de granite de 50 cm, incontournable. (Désolé, pas de photo; pas la tête à ça sur le moment... 😉 )
Il faudrait pelleter une bonne heure pour remblayer.
Le demi-tour, à cet endroit, est très problématique avec un 4x4 "long"....
Ca pourrait peut-être passer moins problématiquement dans le sens nord-sud, en montée...
A éviter, donc, jusqu'à plus ample informé.

I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?
Beyond the official recommendations, I’m really looking for your firsthand experiences.

I just realized I’ve been registered on VoyageForum since... March 28, 2012 😊. Yet, I’ve barely participated until now.
August 1, 2026, will mark a somewhat special milestone: 5 years on the road.
We left Switzerland on August 1, 2021 with a simple idea: let chance decide our direction. We placed a bottle of wine on a world map, spun it... and it chose our first destination.
A year later, when we arrived in Morocco, we faced a new choice: continue toward Africa or head to Asia. This time, a tarot card game made the decision. Since then, we’ve tried to keep this journey as open to the unexpected as possible.
Today, that adds up to about 120,000 km, 46 countries, and over 1,800 days on the road—mostly by motorcycle, but also by sailboat, train, bus, hitchhiking, or on foot when adventure calls.
Our guiding thread isn’t just the motorcycle, but service exchanges. Instead of simply passing through countries, we try to stop regularly to lend a hand to the people we meet. So far, that’s about 600 days of volunteering.
Over the years, we’ve:
renovated a house in Croatia
made earth bricks in the Moroccan desert
helped sail a boat through the Greek islands
looked after houses, dogs, horses, a camel... and lots of other animals
worked at a street art festival in Morocco
created videos for local associations and projects
worked the grape harvest on the Tibetan plateau
been accredited as "media" for the World Nomad Games in Central Asia
Some of the moments that have stuck with us the most include six months in China, a night spent on the Great Wall, the Pamir Highway, the Silk Road, three months in Taiwan, and the incredible encounters in the mountains of Central Asia.
We travel on Falkor, our lucky dragon—a 2014 BMW F800GS that’s been with us since the start and is starting to have some great stories of its own.
While we share our adventure on Instagram, Polarsteps, and YouTube, that’s not why we’re here. The forum’s rules about promotion are clear, and I totally get them. If I’m finally taking the time to write, it’s mostly because after five years on the road, I thought our experience might be useful to other travelers.

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.

I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?
Where can I get vehicle insurance?

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.

Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.

This is our first motorcycle trip in Morocco. I got my license two years ago with the dream of taking this kind of trip, and here we are! ✌️😍
In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.

Day 2: Tafingoult - Amzarkou - Telouet (200 km - 4h34)

Day 6: Agoudim - Imilchil - Aghbala - El Ksiba (280 km - 4h45)
Day 7: El Ksiba - La Cathédrale - Zaouiat Ahansal (212 km - 4h20)
Day 8: Ahansal - Ouzoud Waterfalls via R 302 (188 km - 4h22)
Day 9: Ouzoud - Marrakech (160 km - 2h43)
