J aurais grandement besoin d informations concernant la suite de mon voyage.
J ai lu pas mal de poste qui abordait plus ou moins le sujet, mais la pluspart traitait du trajet dans l autre sens (d Europe jusqu en Chine).
Mes questions restent sans reponses, d ou la creation de ce post
Je me presente "brievement":
J ai quitte la France debut 2010 pour la Grece, de la j ai rejoint l Inde par la route. En passant par l Albanie, Montenegro, Croatie, Bosnie, Serbie, Hongrie, Ukraine, Russie, Mongolie, Chine, Nepal, Inde. Ce trajet a ete effectue en bus, autostop, train..etc
Toutefois j ai du prendre un avion de Chine pour rejoindre le Nepal pour des raison de temps /argent.
Une fois en Inde j ai voulut un peu pimenter l affaire et je me suis paye une moto. Je n avais jamais conduit avant ca, si bien que les debut ont ete folklo. Les 4 mois passe en Inde a Rejoindre Le Kerala depuis le Cachemire a moto ont ete du pure bonheur...
Apres l Inde j ai rejoint L asie du sud, que j ai traverser ( Thailande, Laos, Cambodge, Vietnam, Indonesie, Myanmar) avec une moto acheter au Vietnam ( excepte pour le Myanamar et L indonesie).
Bref je suis tombe amoureux des road trip a moto, et des mon retour en France je compte bien officialiser tout ca!
Je suis actuellement au myanamar, pays que je quitterai dans qqls jours pour rejoindre la Chine, apres un detour par la Thailande.
J en viens donc a l objet de mon message.
J aimerai racheter une moto en Chine, moto avec laqu elle je voudrais visiter une petite partie du pays, et possiblement traverser l asie centrale. Je ne compte pas rejoindre l Europe a moto pour des raisons evidentes d assurance/permis...etc
J aimerai donc savoir si il est possible d entrer Au kirghizstan par la Chine avec une moto d immatriculation chinoise.
Serait t il plus simple de passer de Chine au kazakhstan, puis kazakhstan Kirghizstan?
Quant est il pour le Turkmenistan et l Ouzbekistan?
Le fait de ne pas avoir de permis poserait il un probleme a la frontiere?
Je me doute bien que c est pas la meilleur chose a faire ( en rapport au permis) ni la plus simple mais j aimerai vraiment tenter le coup.
Si possible j aimerai avoir des avis, et des recits d experiences personnel.
Savoir de quel ordre serait les difficultes rencontres.
Bref j aimerai savoir si cela semble difficile ou juste impossible?
Je sais que j en demande beaucoup et j espere que quelq un trouvera le temps de me repondre.

tu es résident?tu travailles ici?as tu un permis chinois? si les trois ne sont pas reunis, je ne me pointerais pas au poste frontiere avec la becane!
soit on te la confisque, soit tu payes une amende ou les deux...
des touristes ont bien déja achete illegalement une moto ici et l nt revendue avant la frontière...
mais rouler sans permis chinois (le permis international n est pas valable) et sans carte de sejour peut valoir des ennuis en cas d accident! sinon pour ce qui est de la legalité, du permis etc etc...beaucoup de chinois n en ont pas, mais ils passent inapercu dans la masse...ce qui ne sera pas ton cas...
de plus la plupart des villes sont interdites aux motos ici!
beau projet mais risqué je crois.
J'ai une moto sans permis à Chengdu depuis 3 ans et je dois faire de plus en plus attention, elles sont interdites en ville, plusieurs amis se la sont faits confisquée par la police. J'ai moins de problème en périphérie.
Un autre pote qui lui possède les papiers et le permis a fait le trajet il y a 3 semaines Chengdu -Jinhong dans le Xishuang Banna. Il s'est fait arrêté tous les jours pour des contrôles papiers et drogues.
Pour ce qui est sortir de La Chine avec une moto je ne sais pas.
Je suis en Chine, je me laisse encore une semaine ou deux pour prendre une descision. Pour le moment je pense que je vais le tenter.
Par contre il sembe plus resonnable de quitter la Chine par le Kazahkstan.
Je pense acheter la moto ( si je le fait) a Urumqi, de maniere a etre plus pres de la frontiere...
J attend toujours des reponses/conseils, on peut tjrs esperer!
Donc j ai acheter une moto chinoise a 2h d urumqi. Ca n a pas ete simple n ayant pas de permis, ne parlant pas chinois et les motos etant interdite a Urumqi.
Mais j y suis parvenu, la moto est d ocasion, j ai paye ds les 100 euros.
J ai roule pendant 2 semaine dans l etat du Xinjiang, avec la moto qui n a pas de plaque d immatriculation, dont je n ais pas de papiers autres qu une declaration de vente manuscrite et tampon du shop ou je l ai achete ( je leurs ai demande histoire d etre sur qu elle ne soit pas vole ). J ai pas eu de probleme mis a par une petite panique lors d un passage de peage. J ai mal compris ce que m a dis la fille, je suis passe a droite de la barriere comme j en avais l habitude. Une alarme et des flash lumineux ce sont enclanche! J ai pris peur je suis partis. J ai ensuite quitte l autoroute, et continue sur des petits chemins ( longeant l autoroute ), j ai vu les flics passe, girophare enclanche, mais je ne peux pas assure que c etais pour moi.
Je n ai pas ete inquiete les jours suivant.
13Km avant le poste frontiere je me suis fait arrete par un policier, qui etait plus inquiete par les photos que j avais pris de la route que par mon absence de papiers!
Il m a d ailleur demande d effacer les photos, j ai refuse, il m a laisse partir.
La sortie de Chine c est bien passe, un peu folklo puisqu ils m ont fait passe ds le batiment avec les pietons! J ai du gravir les marches et faire la queue avec la moto. C etait drole. Ils m ont fait longuement attendre, car mon passeport est dans un sale etat ( la photo et la couverture se decollent ). J ai l habitude mais ca ma un peu enerve. Du coup qu and ils m ont rendu mon passeport j etais pas content et a ce moment la un douanier en chef ( qui etait pas la au debut ) c est apercut que j avais une moto, ils ont demande les papiers, je leurs ai montre la lettre. Ils ont pas insiste etant donne que j avais deja bcp attendu et que j etais de mauvaise humeur...
Cote Kazak, J ai aussi bcp attendu, ils etaient tres embetes car la moto n avait pas de plaque d immatriculation et du coup ils ne savaient pas quoi inscrire ds le formulaire!
En attendant j ai discute, fume avec les gars. Du coup on a cree des liens et ils avaient vraiment envis de m aider. Au final il m ont demande mon passeport et la lettre ( ils en ont fait des copies ). Il ont mis le numero de moteur a la place du numero d immatriculation dans le formulaire. Et hop c etait bon!
Donc il est possible de passer la frontiere Chine/Kazakhstan sans permis, avec un moto sans plaque d imatriculation et sans les papiers..
Ce message n est pas un encouragement a procede de la sorte. Si j avais pu j aurais bien evidement prefere etre en regle.
D autant plus ca la fait car que j ai eu de la chance de tombe sur des douaniers adorables ( ils m ont meme fait un mot pour me facilite le passage au Kirgyzstan!).

Jai pas de permis non plus et je compte acheter le bordel quelque part sur la route ha ha mais je sais pas si apres l Asie centrale et tout ? I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?
Beyond the official recommendations, I’m really looking for your firsthand experiences.

I just realized I’ve been registered on VoyageForum since... March 28, 2012 😊. Yet, I’ve barely participated until now.
August 1, 2026, will mark a somewhat special milestone: 5 years on the road.
We left Switzerland on August 1, 2021 with a simple idea: let chance decide our direction. We placed a bottle of wine on a world map, spun it... and it chose our first destination.
A year later, when we arrived in Morocco, we faced a new choice: continue toward Africa or head to Asia. This time, a tarot card game made the decision. Since then, we’ve tried to keep this journey as open to the unexpected as possible.
Today, that adds up to about 120,000 km, 46 countries, and over 1,800 days on the road—mostly by motorcycle, but also by sailboat, train, bus, hitchhiking, or on foot when adventure calls.
Our guiding thread isn’t just the motorcycle, but service exchanges. Instead of simply passing through countries, we try to stop regularly to lend a hand to the people we meet. So far, that’s about 600 days of volunteering.
Over the years, we’ve:
renovated a house in Croatia
made earth bricks in the Moroccan desert
helped sail a boat through the Greek islands
looked after houses, dogs, horses, a camel... and lots of other animals
worked at a street art festival in Morocco
created videos for local associations and projects
worked the grape harvest on the Tibetan plateau
been accredited as "media" for the World Nomad Games in Central Asia
Some of the moments that have stuck with us the most include six months in China, a night spent on the Great Wall, the Pamir Highway, the Silk Road, three months in Taiwan, and the incredible encounters in the mountains of Central Asia.
We travel on Falkor, our lucky dragon—a 2014 BMW F800GS that’s been with us since the start and is starting to have some great stories of its own.
While we share our adventure on Instagram, Polarsteps, and YouTube, that’s not why we’re here. The forum’s rules about promotion are clear, and I totally get them. If I’m finally taking the time to write, it’s mostly because after five years on the road, I thought our experience might be useful to other travelers.

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.

I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.

Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.

This is our first motorcycle trip in Morocco. I got my license two years ago with the dream of taking this kind of trip, and here we are! ✌️😍
In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.

We haven’t booked any hotels—is that a problem? We were thinking of deciding day by day based on our progress.
Can we take our helmets with us in the cabin, or should we pack them in the checked luggage surrounded by clothes to avoid damage?
