About the food, I don’t know if you’ve heard of the ARTE show "Voyage en cuisine" ("Culinary Journey")—it’s a show about iconic dishes from each country, and the episodes are usually really interesting.

They’ve done several episodes on South Korea: kimchi, bibimbap, fried chicken, Korean barbecue with Hanu beef. I haven’t watched them yet, but you can find them on YouTube.
