Je suis allée en RD 5 fois et jamais pris de traitement anti palu. Les hotels font le necessaire pour qu'il n'y ait pas de moustiques.

Je vais depuis 4ans, zen REP DOM, je n'ai jamais entendu parler de paludisme, mais protège toi contre les moustiques car la dengue existe dans tous les pays tropicaux, je l'ai choppée à Tahiti, et vraiment celà gâcherait tes vacances, alors lotions+++.

Je te remercie pour tes informations que je suis allée consulter, j'en conclus qu'un traitement préventif serait necessaire bien que mon médecin généraliste ne m'a rien prévu sauf une petite ordonnance avec des produits pour la diarrhé c'est tout. J'ai également entendu des gens qui m'on dit que certaine personne ne supportait pas ce traitement donc je suis un peu perdu. Mon départ est pour le 27 mai. Toi lorsque tu pars là bas tu prends le traitement ? Je te remercie d'avance pour ta réponse car j'angoisse c'est mon premier voyage... Buffy

Je te remercie d'avoir répondu, est-ce que tu peux me dire ce qu'est la dengue et quel en sont les symthomes
J'ai des personnes de mon entourage qui sont parti début mars et eux aussi me disent qu'ils n'ont rien pris car auparavant lors d'un traitement préventif ils avaient dû tout arrêté car ils étaient malades donc je suis toujours dans le flou et je suis une proie en général pour ces petites bêtes....

je t'ai répondu en MP, mais je pense que carmencita qui habite la bas, elle est au courant et te conseil des spray anti moustique je pense que c'est la bonne solution. et de la creme anti moustique et une creme appaisante contre les piqueure d'insecte. et surtout de ne pas ce faire du souci sur le palud. et passer de magnifique vacance en Rep Dom plus que 50jrs et bye bye la morosité de l'europe et surtout de découvrir un pays d'apres ce que je lis sur les forum magnifique et des gens sain et simple que sont les domminicains.

De plus le palu en Republique Dominicaine est de type 1 càd le moins virulent ou la Chloroquine est efficace contrairement à la Thailande qui est de type 3 et necessite un traitement special tres dur et avec bcp d 'effets secondaires. jE compte me rendre dans ce pay en mars 2007 et je t 'assure que je n 'envisage pas de traitement anti -palu PEUX -tu m 'envoye un e--mail lors de ton retour au Pays Merçi et A+

Alors, la dengue est inoculée par le moustique, elle se traduit par une grande fatigue durant l'incubation, ensuite fièvre et éruption cutanée, il n'existe pas de traitement préventif, puisquec'est une sorte de grippe. Les complications peuvent être hémorragiques dans les formes graves. Lorsque je l'ai eue, j'avais une formule sanguine à 1600 globules blancs, donc presque plus d'iommunité (et je travaillais à l'hopital). faire une cure de polyvitamines avant et pendant les vacances, il parait que la vitamine b laisse une ôdeur sur la peau qui ne plait pas (tant mieux ) à ces ho^tes indésirables, de toute façon celà renforce les défenses de l'organisme, et puis la protection est la meilleure des garanties le pharmacien te dira quelle est la lotion la plus efficace😉😉😉😎😛😛 donc bonnes vacances et tue le maximum de moustiques afin que je sois tranquille

Nous aussi, nous partons en RD. Il y a une dizaine de jours, j'ai téléphoné à l'institut de médecine tropicale d'Anvers (Belgique). Ils m'ont répondu qu'il n'y avait besoin d'aucun traitement contre la malaria sauf si l'on se rendait dans la zone frontalière avec Haïti ou que l'on séjournait dans des endroits très reculés. Mais il faut se munir d'un spray répulsif. Mais si vraiment j'étais trop inquiète, je pouvais prendre simplement de la nivaquine.
Je sais qu'au Canada, on prescrit de la chloroquine mais cela paraît un peu excessif à mon goût.
Nous nous y rendrons pour la 3ième fois et je n'ai jamais rien pris sauf un bon répulsif et porter des vêtements à longues manches et longues jambes le soir.

Bonsoir Clausse et merci de me donner ces infos, d'après les divers échanges de mail je pense que je ne commancerai pas le Lariam car si je lis bien il a quand même pas mal d'effet secondaire, comme je vois le toubib la semaine prochaine pour mon fils je reposerai la question.
Bien sûr que je t'enverrai un mail à mon retour sans problème je serai de retour le 4 juin donc compte dans la semaine qui suit

Non, pas d'hospitalisation, c'est comme une grosse grippe il faut attendre que ça passe, pas de traitement sauf dans les cas graves, Vitamines pour remonter la santé et le moral. Repos en chambre, ce n'est pas contagieux sauf par piqû^re du moustique, le principal handicap est une grosse fatigue donc à éviter en vacances . en deux ans de séjour à Tahiti je l'ai attrapée une fois, en période de pluie en décembre, donc il faut vraiment un mauvais karma pour se faire infecter.....😉😉😏😎

Il n'y a pas le paludisme en REP DOM. Inutile de t'encombrer l'estomac avec des médicaments aux effets secondaires certains. Depuis 4 ans je vais côté Caraibes, et je n'ai jamais eu de problêmes, à 66 ans. Alors, dans ta trousse, tu emportes immodium au cas tu chopperais la tourista c'est à dire la diarrhée, avec un désinfectant intestinal type ercéfuryl, beaucoup de protection contre les moustiques, rassur-toi je sors tous les soirs au spectacle en plein air avec des jupes où des robes, !!!!je ne vais tout de même pas laisser mon attirail de séduction au vestiaire, j'affectionne les tenues type Espagne, dentelles cha^les Andalous, tuu vois le genre. Alors emmenes un peu d'èosine et des pansements tout prêts en cas de blessure et si tu vas à l'ho^tel, il y a toujours un médecin sur place, à éviter car c'est toujours cher. Moi ma préoccupation c'est le transport en avion bétaillère inconfort, et là oui le risque de phlébite existe, manque de place pour remuer les jambes, pas de place pour mettre les coudes!!!!Pour le reste, tu passeras d'excellentes vacances et tu vas bien danser et t'amuser, tu verras les Dominicains sont super sympas.

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?

I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question: Has anyone here had any experience with this? (Even if it’s a different medication or different countries, any input would be helpful!)

We’d like to know if there’s a real risk of Zika contamination on those islands, because from what we’ve found online, the recorded cases are old and come from the Sotavento Islands.
We’re thinking about canceling our trip.
If you’ve recently traveled to Cape Verde or live there, do you have any thoughts on this?

Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...
Have any of you been in this situation before? How does it work at customs—do I need to declare everything that exceeds the 3-month limit? Do I need a letter from my doctors?

I’m planning a trip to Thailand in October or November, and I wanted to check about health precautions: malaria treatment, vaccinations (hepatitis A or others...). I’ll mostly be in the northern region, around Chiang Mai, where I’ll spend a lot of time in nature and the mountains. Then I’ll head south to Phuket or Krabi and visit Khao Sok National Park. We’ve planned a 3-week trip to Bali this summer with our 7-year-old daughter. The itinerary includes Sanur, Nusa Lembongan, Sidemen, Amed, and Ubud. The more time passes, the more we read about people getting sick—some with mild to severe traveler’s diarrhea, and many ending up in the hospital. We, as parents, have been through it in Egypt with pretty bad cases, but we’d really like to avoid that for our daughter. Even though there’s no zero risk, and we’ll be careful, can any of you reassure me? Not everyone got sick, right? I’d love to hear positive feedback from parents, but not just them 😊.
