Question about safety of Gili Gede-Bali crossing

Hi everyone. I’ve been wondering about the safety of the crossing between Gili Gede in Lombok and Bali via Gili Gateway. I need to get to Bali in early September, and the 2-hour crossing is appealing, but given recent boat incidents, I’m questioning the safety and navigation conditions. If anyone has any info, I’d love to hear it! Flying is still an option... Thanks
