Starting May 1, 2025, Thailand plans to introduce a Digital Arrival Card, an electronic arrival form to be completed before departure. Inspired by Cambodia’s system, this formality aims to digitize the collection of traveler information. The exact details (whether it will be mandatory, the form’s content, submission deadline) are still to be confirmed. In 2024, Thailand welcomed over 25 million visitors—a figure on the rise but still below the 2019 record (39 million). Read more...

Right now, for quite a few projects, the authorities are kind of spinning their wheels.

Their thing is to launch an idea, then a date, and on the big day, nothing might happen. Sometimes nothing gets implemented, sometimes it’s months or even years late, and sometimes it’s launched but with different terms than originally planned.

Until the exact implementation details are announced, it’s best for future tourists not to stress out.

Hi there, Don’t rely on information from random forums or Facebook pages about this electronic card. As long as unofficial sites like the Thai Embassy in Paris or the French Embassy in Bangkok don’t provide details, we’re not making any moves.

As long as unofficial sites like the Thai embassy in Paris or the French embassy in Bangkok,

If the websites of the Thai Embassy in Paris and the French Embassy have become unofficial, it might be tough to find an official one!

Wordplay, as Master Capello would say.

For my part, the Thai embassy in Paris or the French embassy in Bangkok

No pun intended, just a vocabulary question. "Unofficial" and "official" don’t mean the same thing.

In my case, the Thai embassy in Paris and the French embassy in Bangkok are the only ones that have shared official information.

Amen!!!!!!!!!

the embassy website is not up to date

Hi there, The Thai embassy website in Paris is completely up to date. They’re not going to waste time sharing non-existent info like some forums or Facebook pages that spread all kinds of nonsense. For example: The visa exemption was extended from 30 to 60 days, officially on July 15, 2024. The Thai embassy website in Paris was updated on July 15, 2024, and not before.

And: - What about the "Happy Songkran 2020" notice? - And the public reception when you can’t even enter without an appointment? ""The consular section of the Embassy will reopen to the public on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting May 11, 2020."" - Or the embassy being closed on September 14, 2020, etc...

We’re in 2025 now...

Thanks for the website addresses!

Little question for the worrier that I am—under the "Accommodation" section, should we enter the first place we’re staying, or can/should we list all of our accommodations?

Since we’re staying in the country for 30 days and our time in Bangkok at the start of the trip is pretty brief, but otherwise, how would travelers who are just going with the flow handle it?

I’ve read here and there that a little printout with the itinerary and accommodations can help when going through immigration, which I’ve actually planned for.

This question might be a bit premature with the TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) starting on May 1st, and there’ll probably be updates before our departure in July.

Thanks for your feedback!

Hi there, It’d be great to hear thoughts and feedback from the first travelers who arrived with this TDAC. Boarding in France and going through immigration in Thailand. Thanks!
