Nous partons cet été découvrir la Costa Brava (Figueres, Gérone, Cadaques et sa côte).
Nous avons trouvé un logement qui accepte notre petit chien (coton de Tuléar) mais j'ai pu lire sur plusieurs forums que les chiens en Espagne n'ont pas bonne réputation et sont interdits dans la plupart des restaurant et bars.
Pouvez vous me dire si vous avez déjà été dans cette situation et si nos amis les animaux sont tolérés ?
Ma vision de l'Espagne et des chien, c'est qu'il y en a beaucoup moins qu'en France, mais quand un aboie, par exemple toute la nuit, personne ne se plaint (les espagnols ont l'air hyper tolérants pour beaucoup de choses).
Effectivement les chiens sont interdits dans les restaurants et souvent dans les hôtels.
Dans les transports en commun vous devrez les museler , meme les petits .
Il vaut mieux le savoir pour s'organiser .
Ils sont tolérés , mais dans les limites de la loî .
Je n'ai plus de chien , mais au regard des contraintes j'avais renoncé à l'amener avec moi .
Ah ...le chant des chiens la nuit au fond des villages ou des villes ...c'est toute une histoire 😉😉 mais pour se balader avec eux au Resto, dans les transports en commun ou simplement faire ses courses c'est un peu plus dur 😕
moi perso, en vacances, avoir dans un restau ou une visite un chien "dans mes jambes" ou dans mon environnement auditif et visuel, c'est plutôt bof bof. je trouve que c'est une gène plus qu'autre chose que l'on impose aux autres. Comme on est poli, on ne dit rien ...
quant au chien qui aboie toute la nuit ... ??? non je n'aurais pas de tolérance.
j'apprécie les animaux, mais chacun sa place. le toutou touriste me gave.

Le chant du chien la nuit ....c'est l'équivalent des chiens au Maroc , souvent des bandes errantes ou des chiens un peu libres dans les villages qui profitent de la fraîcheur de la nuit . Mais pas ceux des touristes .
N'oublions pas non plus qu'il y a encore des cas de rage en Espagne , j'ai photographié l'année dernière un renard bien pelé qui présentait tout les signes de cette maladie .
Je viens juste de verifier le coton de Tulear , ben , pour voyager 😕 ce n'est pas de tout repos pour les autres surtout , j'avoue que le chant du chien la nuit a l'hôtel me crisperait un chouïa ....🏴☠️..

J'aime bien l'affection des toutous gentils, qui comme les enfants sont très naturels.
Surtout qu'après une longue période où le chien français se devait d'avoir l'air méchant, on revient au chien affectueux.
Même si c'est vrai qu'au resto, on devient difficile avec l'age et les standards de l'hygiène .... on imagine plus facilement ce que transporte les bonnes léchouilles qui font chaud au coeur.
Par contre, être empêché de calme, voir de dormir, de façon gratuite, par un petit être qui n'a aucune conscience du monde qui l'entoure, c'est rageant, car je trouve qu'il y a déjà bien à faire avec l'humanité.
Avant de partir, dans mon quartier, j'ai eu à composer en permanence avec les aboiements, à toutes heures, de petits chiens gentils (obligé de mettre des bouchons d'oreille...un seul petit aboiement, si ça revient toutes les demi heures, ça empêche totalement le repos).
Et pendant mon mois de vacances en Espagne, j'ai eu l'impression que ces petits chiens à la voix stridente me poursuivaient partout...(les espagnols ont l'air d'aimer les petits chiens, ce qui je trouve est un bon point, par rapport aux chiens qui font peur).
Mais il ne faut pas être trop intolérant, je préfère ça à une chaine hi fi qui diffuse de la techno, ou le bruit d'une harley davidson.... parfois, moi aussi je préfère quand même les animaux aux humains.
ce n'est pas de l’intolérance, sinon à la mauvaise éducation, non des chiens, mais de leurs maitre bien sur.
je "tolère" le bruit naturel des enfants et de leurs activités, je "tolère" la lenteur d'une personne handicapée, je tolère tout ce qui rend notre vie d'être humain agréable dans un vivre ensemble respectueux de tous.
je ne tolère pas qu'on m'enquiquine avec le bruit, l"odeur, les léchouilles degueu, la bave, la gamelle de flotte sous la table etc , le "je me secoue quand je suis mouillé", d'un toutou qui ne devrait faire cela qu'à ces maitres et ces maitres seulement. , ( et je passe sur le spectacle du ramasse caca dans l'allée de hôtel, j'ai vu.😉)
à part pour les les chiens d'aveugles, rien ne m'oblige à subir ça.
j'ai eu des chiens, des chats : ils avaient dans ma vie leur place, ils ont été aimés et bien soignés. C'est bon ! je ne les jamais emmenés en voyage. ni dans des restaus, hôtels et ailleurs.
donc voila !
je ne fais pas ce procès à l'initiateur de la discussion qui a sans doute un chien très bien élevé.
juste des considérations sur l'ère d'un temps où les chiens et chats auraient tort de ne pas profiter de la bizarre place que leur ont fait les humains ! 😕

Désolée de lire tant de délire sur les chiens, de ceux qui, en fait, n'ont rien à répondre à votre question mais qui ne m'étonnent franchement pas quand je vois les abandons de cette période estivale, en perpétuelle augmentation, vive les vacances pour les animaux!!!!!!!
En Espagne ou ailleurs il y a moyen d'emporter son petit cœur de chien avec soi, il suffit de tout prévoir à l'avance:
Les vaccins bien entendu (rage obligatoire). Et pourquoi pas le collier anti-aboiement!!!
Les hôtels ou chambres d'hôtes, où vous aurez la bonne idée de réserver en annonçant le chien bien entendu,
Le voyage en Espagne en voiture de loc (attention à la chaleur étouffante ds les voitures, ne JAMAIS l'y laisser, ne serait ce qu'une minute enfermé). Ne comptez pas prendre ni bus ni train car les animaux n'y sont pas admis),
Les restaus pour la plupart acceptent les chiens si vous déjeunez à l'extérieur, en terrasse et si votre chien ne va pas ennuyer les autre client.
Les Espagnols ne sont pas des fanas d'animaux, en particulier si ce ne sont pas les leurs!!
J'ai 2 chiennes de marque imposante (en taille) et jamais je n'ai eu de problème.
Prévoyez tout et tt ira bien!!!!!!!

Je crois qu'il est important de connaitre le degré de tolérance des espagnols et la loî appliquée aux animaux .
J'avais oublié le fait qu'on pouvait généralement se restaurer en terrasse .
Pour le reste , c'est plus dur , surtout pour l'animal . Chaleur dans la voiture , non accès aux plages bien sur , quoique j'en ai trouvé deux dans la province de Murcia où il est indiqué : plage pour chien . Bref , perso , je pense que si on a une solution de garde fiable pour le toutou il vaut mieux le laisser en France pour son bien .
Je suis très engagée pour la condition animale, je l'étais en France, je le suis ici aussi, je crois que tu le sais déjà.... C'est la raison pour laquelle j'ai tj peur (peur panique même en cette période) que les gens abandonnent leur animal pour pouvoir partir. Il y a tant de cruauté et de souffrance à ce sujet.
Mais tu as raison Hanna, l'idéal pour voyager facilement et librement est de confier son animal avant de partir, à un membre de la famille, à une Asso qui le gardera, il y a tant de possibilités maintenant pour partir sans créer trop de stress à son chien ou à soi-même.

Quîen sabe, j'ai perdu mon plan à la Azohia , la loî littoral a eu raison d'une brave femme qui avait quelques appartements sur la plage, et en face un immeuble de 10 étages s'est construit en reculant juste de quelques mètres et du haut de son horrible béton légal il va regarder le petit immeuble entoure de palmiers bien propre quî accueillait des familles depuis les années soixante , sans caution, a prix défiant toute concurrence, se faire écraser par les bulldozers ...
Les chiens étaient les bienvenus , ca se passait toujours bien , la proprietaire en a trois elle meme .
Il y a des horreurs de ce style à Almuñecar, le long de certains paseos de belles maisons ont été rachetées et rasées pour faire la place à de gds immeubles...
Le pire c'est que l'immeuble qui était derrière, avec sa vue magnifique sur la mer est à présent ds le noir , fini le soleil, terminée la vue sur les dauphins. Le gars qui avait acheté un appart ds cet immeuble ne peut plus ni l'habiter ni le louer...il ne lui reste plus que ses yeux pour pleurer!

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:
Day 1: Brussels-Munich
Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.
This route means renting a car in Finland and dropping it off in Norway. My initial searches are showing rental rates that are... astronomical—about three times the price compared to returning it at the starting point.

I’m sharing my draft itinerary with you because I just booked our flight tickets, and I feel like it’s quite late in the season. So, I’d like to be sure about my stops before reserving the hotels. I’ll be traveling alone with my two adult children. We want to prioritize outdoor walks, avoid too many indoor visits (both for budget and preference), and not spend too much time on the road.
D1: Arrival at 9 AM in Malaga, day in Malaga and overnight stay
D2: Head straight to Nerja (1-hour drive) and spend the night there
D3: Head straight to Granada (1.5-hour drive), spend the day and night there
D4: Granada. Visit the Alhambra (Nasrid Palaces tour at 5 PM) and spend the night
D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night
D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda
D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there
D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...
