le vaccin contre le palu n existe pas
il n y a pas de fièvre jaune chez les jaunes (petit moyen mémotechnique)
je dirais que être à jour du DTP serait déjà pas mal + envisager hépatite A et typhoide? (faire une sérologie hépatite A pour vérifier que vous n êtes pas déjà vacciné "naturellement", à demander à votre medecin)

Je reviens de la clinique voyage , et le médecin a vérifié que j'étais à jour dans mes vaccins 'de bébé', ainsi que diphtérie/tétanos, Hépatite A et B, typhoïde
Il me recommande aussi le vaccin pour l'encéphalite japonaise (ok, cher, mais couvert par mes assurances privées)
ainsi que la prise de Malarone (pour le paludisme- ce n'est pas un vaccin, c'est des comprimés), pendant et après le voyage
Et pour éviter les désagréments, il est aussi possible de prendre du Dukoral, un vaccin liquide, deux semaines avant le voyage, pour offrir une protection (bon, ce n'est pas à tout épreuve non plus, il ne faut quand même pas boire l'eau, etc..) contre la diarrhée du voyageur (E.Coli)..mais bon c'est au choix . perso j'ai déjà été très malade en voyage, alors c'est recommandé pour ceux qui sont 'sensible'
Un conseil..écoutez plus votre médecin que les forumistes ;-) Ce n, est pas parce que quelqu'un n'a pas pris de malarone et reviens du Vietnam en santé qu'il n'y a pas de risque!
Ok pour une visite au médecin... mais s'il n'est pas versé dans les maladies tropicales.... vous avez autant voire plus de renseignements par des forumistes qui ont ou n'ont pas été malades pendant des périodes plus ou moins longues -
Le Vietnam n'est pas un pays particulièrement dangereux concernant les risques en respectant bien entendu l'abc d'hygiène - il est bien évident que l'eau du robinet dans tous ces pays tropicaux est à proscrire totalement, même additionnée de micropur ou autres... - on vend de l'eau en bouteilles et il faut s'y limiter - d'ailleurs pour une histoire "d'eau" j'ai été rapatriée du Mexique et de la Thaïlande.... je passe des mois, répétitifs au Vietnam et je n'ai jamais eu le début du moindre problème médical.. - je pense que le paludisme est bien plus dangereux et difficile à traiter en Thaïlande qu'au Vietnam. Mais contre ce risque là c'est une affaire de bon sens : le soir à l'heure où les moustiques sortent : manches longues, pantalons longs, enduits d'un "tropical repel insect " et crême du même acabit sur les parties dénudées.. - avec quelques gestes simples on évite de se bourrer de médicaments qui sont loin d'être anodins...
Le plus à craindre pour le palu est sur les hauts plateaux ou carrément dans la jungle... mais tous les touristes n'y vont pas.. le plus risqué est certainement les morsures de chiens ou bêtes errantes dans la campagne..😠

Mais Julief 79 a parfaitement raison, en effet bcp trop d avis des forumistes, bien que de bonne foi et sincères, peuvent entrainer des dangers parfois graves chez les voyageurs non initiés
En effet prenons le cas du palu
le traitement qui peut etre préventif curatif ou présomtif depend de plusieurs parametres
1/régions visitées
2/ la durée ( un expatriés pour des années c est exclus des traitements qui comportent a long terme des dangers par exple pour les yeux
3/certaines personnes ne peuvent pour des raisons de contre-indications persnnelles
(grossesse récent par exple) et etc....
Nha que qui est medecin , Abalone de meme ont donné pas mal de renseignements dans ce sens
et accessoirement moi aussi , bien que médecin des voyages , je crois surement moins bien placé que NQ et Ab , ils habitent ou séjournent au VN !!!

On est tout à fait d'accord et je n'ai nulle envie de me battre : je fais tout ce que je peux et que je sais pour aider les autres forumistes - je n'ai rien contre les médecins (j'en ai dans ma famille...) mais permettez-moi de vous dire que le fait pour un homme de l'art de connaitre bien son patient n'est pas un critère suffisant.. s'il n'est pas formé ou renseigné en médecine tropicale - d'ailleurs le mien, à l'origine, avait pris contact à Paris avec l'hopital Bichat-Claude Bernard pour connaitre les tenants et aboutissants des pays que nous avons été appelés à visiter, ; l'adaptation d'un traitement préventif pour le patient ne venant qu'en second, compte tenu de ses sensibilités propres et de ses allergies éventuelles.
Je dis simplement mon expérience - qui ne vaut que par l'intérêt qu'on veut bien lui accorder😉 je n'ai jamais dit ni écrit qu'il fallait faire comme moi🤪🤪

J'ai oublié de préciser que le vaccin liquide (à boire) pour prévenir la diarhée de voyageur (diosn autour de 80%) protège aussi contre le Choléra. Au Québec, ce vaccin se nomme Dukoral, se prend oralement 2 semaines avant et une semaine avant le depart.
En lien avec le choléra, cet article du 5 juillet 2010, dans Than Nienh news, qui rapporte une éclosion:
Alors qu'aucun cas de cholera n'avait été rapporté à Hanoi dans les 4 derniers mois, 18 cas de cholera y ont été rapporté la semaine dernière. Ces personnes avait consommé des aliments non sécuritaires, principalement de la viande de chien (ainsi que la sauce de crevette pour la tremper) et des légumes crus.

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

I have several chronic conditions (including asthma and related ones), and I’m planning to travel for a year across different countries.
Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...

After those 6 months, is it possible (instead of bothering a relative to send the medication) to see a foreign doctor to get another 6-month travel authorization? How does it work at the airport? Do I need just one medication transport authorization, or do I have to request a new one in each country (once the treatment runs out) for both the flight and a DCI? We, as parents, have been through it in Egypt with pretty bad cases, but we’d really like to avoid that for our daughter. For several years now, increased aggression has been observed in Cape fur seals.

It was recently confirmed that this is due to rabies.
The suspected origin is contamination in Namibia by jackals.
The contagion seems to be spreading.
Preventive vaccination (of the animals) is being considered.

Rabies affects all mammals.
Once symptoms appear—sometimes weeks or even months later—death is inevitable.
It’s the bite that transmits the disease.
There are so-called "furious" forms with aggression, but also forms without aggression.
In case of a bite, in addition to standard wound care, tetanus prevention… rabies prevention is essential.
