Un parka et des moon boots 😛 Nan je déconne, le moins de choses possibles a part l'indispensable pour les 1ers jours et tu achètes tout sur place ca sera moins cher et plus adapté au climat local 😉 Il fait déjà chaud mais pas trop encore (après tout dépend ou vous allez, au nord, au sud?) 🙂

idem que les autres mais moi je rajoute ce qui suit car encore une fois pas de "prévention".. que j'aurai aimé avoir lors d'un premier déplacement là bas.. où on a eu une grosse crève (médecin sur place) à l'époque..:
DONC ce que bcp oublient de parler du problème en thailande ou autres pays "chaud" pour les visiteurs "novices" il faut faire attention à la climatisation dans les trains et bus et magasins....très très forte (remarquez vous qui êtes du québec, le froid vous êtes habitués )...mais bon l'amplitude thermique entre l'extérieur à plus de 30 degrés et véhicules climatisés boutiques, et hall d'hôtels dans les 19 degrès peuvent être néfaste.. il ya de très nombreux touristes qui chopent des crèves très très fortes sur place à cause de ça... donc prévoyez lors de vos balades un bon gilet/sweet autour de la taille ou dans sac à dos pour pallier cette différence thermique (même un foulard autour de la gorge n'est pas de trop pour éviter d'avoir l'air froid qui coûle dans la nuque dans les transports) ....et je n'exagère pas surtout les trains/bus....
de plus les climatiseurs de là bas véhiculent des bactéries et dans les chambres faites attention.... des touristes ont leurs vacances gâchées en raison de bronchites / otites (attention eau des piscine)....les enfants sont assez touchés . sur place il ya des très bons cabinets médicaux mais bon dommage d'être fiévreux pour des trucs aussi bêtes...
donc soyez prévoyant....

ah oui ça aussi tu as tout à fait raison d'alerter sur ce point moustiques.... par contre je trouve même que les répulsif que l'on trouve sur place commencent à être moins efficace...j'utilise skétorène que l'on trouve dans les seven ou family market et ça commence à ne plus trop agir. en février on a eu des piqûres malgré tout le soir..
par contre j'en ai ramené en france pour tester dans notre région à marseille (moustique tigre) et bien cette année ça a fonctionné mieux que la citronnelle... on verra l'année prochaine si les moustiques deviennent résistants 😛
bref tout ça n'est pas bon pour la peau si on ne met pas des vêtement couvrant le soir....

je n'utilise pas de répulsif et n'y connais pas grand chose, Je sais simplement que ceux achetés en Thaïlande fonctionne beaucoup mieux.
J'ai la chance de ne pas trop les attirés, ils n'aiment pas l'odeur du Mai Tai. 🙂

Hello, des vêtements amples, manche longue et jupe longue ou pantalon pour les soirées (moustiques + et mettre du répulsif à partir de 17h que l'on trouve partout). Un petit gilet ou sweet .. foulards pour les pb de climatisation dans les magasins. Casquette pour marcher sous le cagnard. Des chaussures qui s'enlèvent facilement pour entrer dans les magasins, des chaussures pour se baigner, un tee shirt si vous faites du snorkel pour éviter les coups de soleil.

Pour le snorkel j'utilise un tee shirt normal et je n'ai jamais eu de problème (à manche longue c'est encore mieux et ça protège aussi des éventuelles petites méduses microscopiques).

😉Ce sont plus des algues urticantes que des méduses microscopiques...
Par contre pour aider au sujet général prenez des pastilles pour les maux de gorges, avec la clim la plupart des touristes après 2 ou 3 jours ont un début d'angine...

les pastilles vous les trouvez sur place en cas de besoin, tout comme les pastilles de charbon, très efficaces pour régler ça flore intestinale.

J'ai téléphoné a un pote qui est directeur d'un magasin Intersport assez grand dans le Pays de gex (de l'autre coté du lac 😉) et il va voir ce qu'il peut trouver car, comme vous chez vous, c'est la saison d'hiver et il n'a ce type de produits qu'en été, mais il doit aussi aller en Thailande bientôt et on doit en discuter pour que je lui donne quelques infos 🙂

Si si, on a des Intersport, sport 2000... mais ils sont tous en mode "Hiver" 😕
On part le 25, j'en trouverai peut être à Bangkok
Oui il faut regarder du coté du Fashion mall a Pratunam par exemple ou au Siam Paragon mais beaucoup plus cher car vraies marques 😉 Sinon comme dit précédemment un simple T-shirt peut aussi faire l'affaire 🙂

Un costume de bain mais les vêtements à apporter dépend aussi du chemin que vous avez a parcourir de chez vous à Thailande.

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka: Negombo – 1 night Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights Kandy – 2 nights Ella – 3 nights Tangalle – 6 nights Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

I’ve looked into a few different options: Brazil, Cambodia, and Ecuador. The last one really appeals to me, but what’s making me hesitate is the risk of our trip being a bit too rainy (literally ),
We’re more drawn to the Andes, exploring colonial cities, typical villages, markets, and a bit of the coast. We’ve already gotten a taste of this in Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Anyway, time’s running out, and I need to decide so I can finalize a route and book the tickets!!

Just giving you the quick context: A group of friends and I are planning a trip to South Korea (Seoul/Busan) at the end of June/July next year. It falls right in the middle of the monsoon season, but we don’t really have other availability options.😕
I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Not sure if guidebooks, agencies, and other tour operators are keeping up by changing their visiting hours and offerings.
Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊
