Ton minutage m'impressionne 😮 Quelques modifications cependant :
Cusco / Pisac +/- 45 mn et dommage de rater les ruines, en partant tot le matin de Cusco tu as largement le temps de visiter et Pisac et Ollantaytambo le pm.
Le train c'est 2h
Visiter le MP en 1 matinee ... ouai pourquoi pas.
Je ne sais si c'est toujours le cas, n'etant pas retourner au MP depuis 2005, mais alors en passant 2 nuits a Aguas C. depart a 20h30 et retour le surlendemain a 5h c'etait 50% moins cher.
Depuis Puno le dernier bus pour Copacabana est a 14h30 ...
En resume, garde le jour 18 pour t'acclimater a l'altitude, et ton "programme previsionel" est beaucoup trop charge pour si peu de temps.
A 4 qui plus est on va moins vite que seul ... 1 place de Puno a Copa a la derniere minute c'est jouable, 4 ... c'est deja moins sur.

bon pour le train d'ollantaytambo a aguas calientes c'est un contact que j'ai a cuzco qui me prend les billets alors je ne sais pas trop les horaires mais je lui ai dit le - cher.
Après je n'ai pas trop compris ce que tu m'as dit pour les ruines, c'est trop court une journée ou pas assez?
Après pour rejoindre Copacabana je ne me suis pas renseigner au niveau des bus partant de Puno mais je sais qu'il y a des collectivos qui font le trajet avant la fermeture de la frontière ou encore taxis ou stop...
Je concois que mon programme est un petit peu trop chargé 😕 mais on annulera la visite de Sucre et Potosi s'il le faut.
Après pour le mal d'altutude et la tourista on va se doper 😛 avant de partir et tout le voyage en prévention avec des médocs

Sinon nous n'avons que 3 sem de congé donc obligé de speeder un peu malgrè nous...
Pour le MP 1ere erreur a mon sens, la grimpette a pied, vous serez creuves avant meme de visiter les ruines, fendez-vous d'un aller en bus et attaquez les ruines avec toutes vos jambes. Il sera toujours temps de redescendre a pieds ensuite. C'est le site aux XXX de milliers de marches par excellence.
J'ai cru lire que tu voulais en repartir en debut de pm, 1 jour c'est tout simplement insuffisant alors 1 matinee 😕🙁
Le mal d'altitude si tu as le remede miracle depose un brevet ... Il n'y a que les paliers et l'acclimatation. Tu l'as ou tu l'as pas. J'ai jamais ete malade en montant mais je suis restee scotchee 1 semaine a Arequipa apres etre redescendue de 4000m. Impossible de voyager.
Dis toi aussi que la Bolivie, particulierement Sucre et Potosi, c'est assez instable de ne se donner aucun jour de battement en cas de blocage c'est prendre le risque de perdre son vol de retour. Donc il serait effectivement plus prudent de faire des choix sur les etapes.
Merci pour tes conseils, nous prendrons donc le bus pour rejoindre le machu picchu, nous n'allons pas nous crever le 3eme jour...
bon c'est vrai que 20 jours c'est court donc nous ne pouvons pas rester dans la même ville pour nous acclimater petit à petit nous sommes contraint d'avancer.
Nous allons nous laisser 4 jours de battement au cas ou... en espérant pouvant faire un max... de toute façon nous reviendrons 😛

Je visite et j'habite la ou je pose mon sac, pour l'instant dans le Junin.
En fait en ce moment j'attends la fin de la fete nationale (normalement ce soir mais ils jouent les prolongations jusqu'a mardi/mercredi), les prix ont gonfles avec elle, transports, hotels etc ... Se sera aussi bien plus sympa d'etre seule pour visiter les cascades qu'avec les centaines de touristes venus de Lima pour la plus part.
Qui a dit que le peruvien ne voyageait pas ¿?¿ cette nuit il y en avait 15 qui dormaient sur la terrasse de mon hospe, plus 1 chambre en ville et ... pas de bol, pluie diluvienne a 2h du mat 😕 Bah, j'avais la douche pour moi seule ce matin, z'avaient eu leur compte 😉
pour ton retour sur cuzco après le MP tu as plus de temps si tu t'arrêtes à Ollantaytambo. Les derniers trains partent de Aguas calientes à18.00h (backpacker economy= 31$) et même 19.00heures (Vistadone economy = 43$). Cela te permettra d'être sur le site de 07 heures du matin à 16 heures si tu veux faire un tour dans aguas calientes avant de partir
je trouve que ton itineraire est speed et ne te permet pas de voir grand chose du Pérou. Tu passes à coté de pas mal de choses.
Tu dis que tu reviendras, alors pourquoi ne pas faire un pays plus a fond et faire l'autre au voyage suivant.
Quand tu reviendras, tu referas encore les 2 pays un peu, ce qui cumule les temps de trajet
Au niveau problème d'altitude, tu verras deja à Cuzco puisque tu avaleras une variation de 3400m en quelques secondes et avec cela fatigué du voyage international et du decalage horaire
Prévois une solution où.... si un membre du groupe ne peux pas le supporter.

rien que ton programme m'a donné le mal de l'altitude...😉, vous courrez trop, enlèves le tiers de ce que t'as prévu. vas tu au moins voir des gens pour causer? même pas sûr...la bolivie c'est trop pour si peu de temps...le MP c'est top sur 2j car unique mais bon à vous de voir avec la récup, les avaries, la fatigue de l'enchainement des bus (hallucinant ton truc) et l'altitude...

bon nous on ne voulait pas faire la selva et on repars également de lima (tarif - cher).
Alors une journée entière à pisac je ne sais pas si c'est nécessaire après je pense que nous allons passer une journée sup a cuzco parce que tellement de chose à voir...
Nous allons faire le lac titicaca du coté bolivien car manque de temps mais de tte façon copacabana est plus sympa que puno et les uros bcp trop touristique dc nous ferons la isla del sol qui est magnifique.
Pour le sud lipez nous partirons de tupiza quitte à rouler un peu plus car le village est bcp plus beau et ils font un détour que l'on ne voit pas d'uyuni et bcp bcp - de 4x4 partent de là.
Sucre la paz il faut compter 10h je pense à faire de nuit.
Quitte à zapper potosi et sucre nous préfèrons partir de tupiza.
Bon je vois quand même que je ne suis pas la seule à faire un programme un peu speed...😉😉😉
Bon bah du coup tu me mets le doute sur Uyuni VS Tupiza...je vais peut-être réétudier ce point.
Par contre je trouve que tu vas faire tout de même pas mal de bus de nuit🤪, perso j'y ai beaucoup réfléchi et vu les commentaires sur ce forum j'ai pas l'impression qu'on dorme beaucoup dans ces bus...Du coup je pense que nous limiterons au max nos trajets en bus de nuit car bien qu'ils permettent de gagner un temps précieux, ils n'en sont pas moins fatiguants et j'ai peur que cela n'affecte mon humeur ou celle de ma compagne pour la visite des différents sites😠. Je me méfie vraiment des coktails détonnants KM + Froid + Fatigue (surtout lorsqu'on voyage à plusieurs)! C'est un coup à revenir en célibataire😛.

votre voyage est possible, je l'ai fait!
pour el camino de la muerte, prendre un mini bus a Villa Fatima(La Paz);Prendre le train La Paz Tupiza (Super service et pas cher +confort).
Dormir sur les îles Uros(réserver à Puno).
Le treck à Uyuni est long si vous voulez tout faire et profiter du paysage...il fait très froid dans le SALAR la nuit, la température peut chuter à moins 15°.
A Sucre deux Hôtels : Le Colonial sur la place et le Sucre(moins cher et super)tous les deux sont centraux.
dernier conseil, mettez vos noms et adresse sur vos bagages, ls disparaissent facilement avec IBERIA!
Autre conseil, pour grimper l'Huana Picchu il faut arriver dans les premiers, limité à 100 ou 200 personnes, ne pas oublier de visiter le temple de la Lune qui est sur un versant, demander au guide en haut par ou passer.
A Potossi, pour la visite des mines, ne pas hésiter d'acheter 2 paquets de cigarettes et un bon paquet de feilles de coca pour les mineurs, vous ne serez pas considérész comme de simple touristes si le cadeau est grand (grandeur d'âme)et la visite en sera différente!
Hôtel Colonial aussi à Potossi(même patron que celui de Sucre)très bien!
A Coroïco "hôtel Rio Resort" cinq étoiles, mais le pied et repos total après la route de la mort!et ce n'est pas vraiment cher pour nous européens!
En Bolivie le Parc Madidi est une splendeur et voir l'Ecolodge Chalalan (agence à La paz et Rurrenabaque).Pour Uyuni agence Colque(La Paz et Uyuni).A Rurenabaque il y a un français qui loue des Cabanas, aller au Mosquito bar et manger chez Juliano et stefani,

j'ai fait le sud pérou en 1 mois (lima/cuzco/vallée sacrée/MP/cuzco/puno/titicaca/copacabana/isla del sol/arequipa/colca/arequipa/lima) et la bolivie/nord chili sur 1 mois aussi (la paz/parc sajama et lauca/arica/san pedro atacama/ uyuni/salar/sucre/santa cruz/trinidad/rurrenabaque/jungle/la paz/coroico/la paz. j'ai pas chômé hein? surtout en bolivie et tu as le droit de me dire: "dis donc😉 t'as fait un truc de dingue et tu te moques de moi? 😛 t'es qui toi?"...t'as raison mais depuis je voyage plus lentement ou sur une moins grande superficie et c'est bien plus agréable. oubliez pas que vous êtes en vacances quand même...
depuis j'ai envie de retourné en bolivie pour prendre plus mon temps mais on verra car c'est plein d'endroits magiques ailleurs alors bon...mon parcours est divers, comme marqué dans mon profil
si t'es côté social, loupes pas potosi car les mineurs sont hallucinants sinon traces. c'est l'occase de causer avec les gars.
en plus si t'es en groupe, vous aurez envie de teufer à cuzco et je me suis fait piégé 1 semaine là bas comme ça!!! donc faites à l'envie du moment et non pas au besoin sinon.
à pas rater: cuzco/machu/titicaca/la paz/sud lipez, organises ton truc de 20j autour de ça si tu veux rajouter des trucs mais c'est déja une bonne base...

qqs trucs par contre: pour le titicaca, je conseille d'aller sur la péninsule de capachica. demander tomas quispe au port de puno pour aller à llachon en bateau local: très peu de touristes car pas connu, t'auras le lac pour toi...la famille quispe gère une auberge, du pur bonheur. sucre est une belle ville et reposante après les 10h terribles venant de uyuni. il fait bon, ambiance étudiante et cadre joli pour teufer un peu. même pas 1 j pour le MP? trop court ça, c'est fascinant, donnes toi la journée et repars le lendemain.

Pour le MP çà me parait suffisant, en arrivant la veille au soir à AC on sera le lendemain dans les premiers sur le site (6H du mat') et en repartant le soir (18H) çà fait une bonne grosse journée pour visiter sur le site.
On est en hiver, donc tu as des temperatures qui vont de + 35 a -25ºC cela depent des lieux, du jour ou de la nuit. La sierra est glaciale, la selva quasi ettouffante selon les altitudes, le desert toujours aussi sec.
Hier je mourais de chaud a Satipo et pouvais lire dans la presse que dans la sierra du meme Junin les gens meurent de froid.

joli parcours, vous allez vous régalez, même si bien sur, 20 jours c un peu court pour tout ça, ca sera le gros speed et ça ne laisse pas tellement de place aux imprévues (pannes diverses etc...) mais dans l'ensemble les lieux cités me paraissent plutot interessants! Day 1: Arrival in Santiago, then a flight the next day to Balmaceda where we'll pick up a rental car to reach Coyhaique.
Day 3: Walk in the Coyhaique National Reserve, then continue to Puerto Chacabuco. Return to Coyhaique for the second night.
Day 4: Drive to Villa Cerro Castillo for a hike in the national park. Continue to Puerto Tranquilo and stay there for 3 nights.
Day 5: Boat tour on Laguna San Rafael.
Day 6: Day trip to Monte San Valentin Glacier.
Day 7: Excursion to the Marble Chapels, then drive to Puerto Guadal. We'll stay there for 3 nights.
Day 8: Walk along Lago Carrera and return to Puerto Guadal.
Day 9: Rio Baker Valley and, if possible, a glacier excursion.
Day 10: Drive to Cochrane and hike in Tamango National Reserve. We'll stay 2 nights in Cochrane.
Day 11: Walk in the Chacabuco Valley.
Day 12: Drive to Caleta Tortel. We'll stay there for 2 nights.
Day 13: Cruise in the Rio Baker delta.
Day 14: Return to Cochrane.
Day 15: Return to Balmaceda in two stages.

After this, we're also planning to explore northern Santiago. I'll post about that part once I have a clearer idea of the route.

Hi everyone, does anyone know the agency Ventura Travel Agency (not ventura travel)? After lots of research and quotes, it’s the only one offering Uyuni at a reasonable price while meeting all the criteria: transfer to the border, private-room accommodation, and a very fair rate. Hi everyone, French travelers in Chile—what credit cards do you use for your various car rentals in the country? I’m traveling in September and was planning to switch my regular debit card (a VISA PREMIER in deferred debit mode) for the deposit guarantee.
My rentals are with Figal in Punta Arenas, Econautos in Arica, and Chilean Rent a Car in Temuco, and all of them want the deposit on a credit card. For me, deferred debit *should* work, but I’ve read comments saying the opposite.
How’s it actually working on the ground with these rental companies right now? Will a deferred debit card work, or not at all?
In France, banks don’t issue credit cards, right—or am I mistaken?

I’m desperately looking for info on the schedules and routes of (shared) boats to visit the islands of Lake Titicaca.
From what I’ve found, there’s a *combi* (bus) that leaves from Puno to go to Llachon. Where do you catch it? What are the schedules and frequency? Does it take about 1 hour?
Then in Llachon, you can take a boat to Amantani (45 min). Same question—where do you check for frequency and schedule?
After that, from Amantani, boats go to Taquile and then Uros. Do you have enough time to visit the islands between two boats? Frequency and schedule?
The goal is to do this tour independently (no agency) over 2 days. Thanks for any tips you might have!
I just got back from a trip to Bolivia and wow—what a wake-up call. It’s not the easiest country, but it’s absolutely stunning.
I started with Isla del Sol, perfect for easing into the altitude at a relaxed pace. Try to stay in the northern part of the island—it’s quieter and the views are insane. And the trout there? Unreal. Quick tip: bring cash in small bills; they almost never have change, and cards are rarely accepted.
Next up, La Paz. The city’s pretty wild, built in every direction. I did a few hikes in the area, including the famous Charquini Lagoon (the blue lake) at over 5,000 m—let’s just say I struggled 😅 but it was so beautiful it was totally worth it.
After that, I headed to Sajama. It’s cool, especially for the hot springs, and I stayed in Tomarapi. But honestly, if you’re short on time, you can skip it without too many regrets.
The highlight of the trip: the Salar. I did it starting from Tupiza, and I *highly* recommend going Tupiza → Uyuni. Way less crowded at the start and the landscapes are super varied. For the tour, I used SplitYourGuide to find a group, and it worked out great. Super handy for splitting costs and meeting people.
I wrapped up in Sucre—this city is gorgeous, all white, with such a chill vibe. And the salteñas + ice cream? Next level 😋
Bottom line: Bolivia’s a bit rough around the edges, sometimes exhausting (shoutout to the altitude), but it’s 1000% worth it.

I was planning to go to Réunion and stay in half-board accommodation with non-professionals, but it seems that’s not really the custom there—or maybe my budget isn’t big enough.
So, since I’ve already traveled around Ecuador and Peru, I’m now looking at Argentina, especially for its mountains (like the ones in Réunion that tempted me, even though—frustratingly—I could only admire them from below).
I plan to get around by bus and don’t know in advance where I’ll sleep, so I won’t book ahead. If I like a place, I might stay for several days.
I know that in Chile, it’s easy to find half-board accommodation, but what about in Argentina?
I’d like to stay with locals in half-board without it being a professional setup. I’m not sure if this is common practice there. It’s up to me to find someone willing to host me.
What do you think?
What would be a fair price (keeping in mind that 40 to 50 € is the max I can spend on accommodation, breakfast, and dinner)?

We’re heading to Patagonia for three weeks in November, starting from Coyhaique in Chile.
We won’t have a car, and I’m struggling to find information about transportation options for a few parts of the itinerary we’d like to do:
1) From Perito Moreno (the town, near Los Antiguos), we’d like to travel down Ruta 40 to visit Perito Moreno National Park and then cross into Chile via the Paso Roballos (at the latitude of Bajo Caracoles) to reach the road to Cochrane. Without a car, it seems we’ll need to use private agencies to get to the national park—do you have any recommendations or suggestions? Also, does anyone know if it’s possible to cross into Chile via Paso Roballos (from Bajo Caracoles) without a rental car? That is, without having to go all the way down to El Chaltén or back up toward Perito Moreno/Los Antiguos, etc.?
2) The second stretch that seems a bit tricky (though still easier, in theory) is from Caleta Tortel to Villa O’Higgins on the Chilean side. Do we have to go back through Cochrane, or are there ways to get directly from Tortel to Villa O’Higgins?
3) Finally, we’d like to hike into Argentina (El Chaltén) from O’Higgins. Any recommendations for this? Do we need to go through an agency? What’s the estimated duration of the trek?
As you’ve probably gathered, we want to visit some off-the-beaten-path spots but don’t have a car, so we’re looking for the best possible compromises.

we’re planning a round trip from San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, to Salta, Argentina, in two months. On the way there, we’ll take the northern route via Susques, Route 27, then 52. But for the return, we were thinking of taking the southern route via San Antonio de los Cobres, Route 51, then 23. Is it similar to the northern route in terms of road surface? How busy is it, and are there gas stations? Basically, should we be worried about doing it in an SUV that’s supposedly 4x4 but has regular road tires and no second spare wheel, obviously...
I’ve seen that we can stop over in San Antonio de los Cobres.

we’ll be in Calama at the end of March 2026, and I’m looking for a reliable car rental there for a 7-day road trip to Salta, Argentina. But I’m struggling with the car rental agencies in Calama because the reviews can be scary. I saw Gyg, which has great ratings, but I’m a bit wary (5/5 from 59 reviews—either the guy’s amazing or it’s fake...), but I can’t find any recent reviews on VF in general.
For Punta Arenas, I booked with Dachelet and didn’t have any issues with email exchanges.

Three years ago during a trip to Java (no, I didn’t post in the wrong forum!), I came across the address of former miners who had switched to “tourism” and organized nighttime ascents of the Kawah Ijen volcano and descents into the crater.

Hi there, since there isn’t much recent info on how to get to MP, I’d love to know if there have been any improvements to the "route" to Hydroelectrica. Is it feasible to drive there in February? And is it still possible to walk all the way to Aguas Calientes? I think I read somewhere that it’s no longer allowed??
Do you think I can buy Machu Picchu entrance tickets last-minute at that time of year, given the weather?
