Hi there, I’m starting to look into traveling to Quebec but mostly up North, so I’m looking for info on boat travel and accommodation options. Just doing some trip planning—I’m traveling solo. Best, Marie

hi, In your title you mention a trip to Nunavut, but in the body of your message you talk about traveling in Northern Quebec (so Nunavik). Which destination are you considering, since the two are geographically different?! One thing’s for sure, the only way to get "up there" is by plane. For lodging, you’ll have options in Kujjuaq (Nunavik) or Iqaluit (Nunavut). For Nunavik, here’s a site that might help: Welcome to Nunavik! The Great North of Quebec

Happy planning!

Re: Solo trip to Nunavut: boat transportation and accommodations
Good evening, thank you sooo much for your reply! For now, I’m looking at both regions—I know they’re not geographically the same. I’ll check out the site you suggested. As for transportation, I’m trying to find out if there are any boat "transport" lines. For now, that’s what I’m looking into. Have a great evening, and thanks again—do you know this region well? Hi, To my knowledge, there are only maritime freight connections (boats from the Desgagnés company Desgagnés - At the heart of Canadian merchant shipping). Maybe there are possibilities for "passengers" on board, but I’ve never heard of it.

I know a bit about Nunavik indirectly because a family member worked there for several years (in the village of Puvirnituq).

Thanks Caribou, it’s a shame to give info about a region you don’t know. I checked the site—thanks! Have a great day, Marie
