J'ai regardé les destinations niveau météo, et la contrainte de la rentrée scolaire donc retour quelques jours avant quand même , et j'ai repéré la Malaisie pour 22 jours sur place Pour une fois, ce sera un mode de voyage plutôt plages/snorkeling/plongée avec un peu de jungle pour de la rando, et transport en commun. nous voyageons avec 2 ado ( 13 et 16), aguerries aux randonnées, nuits dans des endroits sommaires...

Pourriez vous me donner un 1er avis sur l'itinéraire : Arrivée Kuala Lumpur, 2 jours, 2 nuits Départ pour Taman Negara 2 nuits Départ Pour îles Perhentian (Besar) 2 nuits sur place Redang 3 nuits Kapas 2 nuits Départ pour Cherating, nuit ; découverte du secteur le lendemain, nuit Départ Pour Tioman, 4 nuits sur place Ile de Besar 2 nuits Départ pour Malacca, 2 nuits Retour à KL, 1 nuit et vol le lendemain

Nous avons déjà eu l'occasion de visiter Singapour, je n'ai pas prévu d'y refaire un crochet. Je me pose la question pour Endau Rompin, ca me parait un peu plus compliqué que Taman Negara.

Est ce que cela parait faisable en comptant le déplacements en bus/bateau entre chaque ( peut-être ponctuellement taxi)

Comme chaque année je viens sur Voyage forum pour la chasse aux bonne idées et aux bons plans. J'ai donc encore besoin de vous pour nos prochaines vacances. En août 2020 nous partirons à Singapour et en Malaisie. Nous resterons 14 nuits sur place. Nous partons avec 2 enfants qui auront 4 ans et 1an1/2 à ce moment là. Nous sommes habitués à voyager en sac à dos mais avec les enfants, nous jouons un peu moins aux aventuriers désormais. Ce qui veut dire que nous comptons louer une voiture en dehors de Singapour. Cela me paraît être plutôt pertinent en terme de confort d'une part (les longs trajets et les attentes ne sont pas toujours évidentes avec de jeunes enfants) mais aussi de prix d'autre part (si j'additionne bus et vol final pour revenir à Singapour, la différence est d'une centaine d'euros)... à moins que vous trouviez des arguments pour m'en dissuader. D'ailleurs, la conduite en Malaisie est-elle facile ?

C'est surtout à propos de l'itinéraire que je vous sollicite. Voilà l'idée : J1 à J4 : Singapour J5 & J6 : Cherating J7 à J9 : Perhentian J10 & J11 : Kapas J12 & J13 : Malacca J14 & J15 : Singapour

Questions multiples : - les temps de trajets sont-ils cohérents ? (notamment l'étape Kapas - Malacca en une journée de voiture) - quand réserver les logements ? J'ai l'impression que pour Perhentian c'est un peu la guerre à ce niveau là. - quel logement me conseillez vous sur Kapas ? Sachant qu'il nous faudrait la clim dans l'idéal et qu'on a un budget d'environ 50€ par nuit. - je mise sur Kapas mais vous avez peut-être mieux à me conseiller ? Tioman (mais les puces de sable... hum hum, je préfère éviter) ? une des petites îles limitrophes (Rawa, Besar, Sibu) ? - idem pour Cherating qui me semble sympathique sans plus. Y'a-t-il plus agréable sur la route ?

Hey everyone, I’m over in East Borneo in mid-July. I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple). Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).

Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees. Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands. Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way). Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan. Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide). Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre. Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island. Day 10 – Head to Semporna. Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai. Day 15 – Bohey Dulang. Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.

I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous. I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing. I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture. But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary. If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.

My partner and I are heading to Malaysia in early July. We arrive in KL on 03/07 in the late afternoon and leave from KL on 18/07 in the evening.

We’ve planned: Day 1: KL Day 2: Cameron Highlands day trip from KL Day 3: KL → Taman Negara (bus) Day 4 & 5: Trek in Taman Negara Day 6: Taman Negara → Perhentians (bus + boat) Day 7 & 8: Perhentians Day 9: Perhentians → Pulau Redang (boat + bus + boat) Day 10 & 11: Pulau Redang Day 12: Pulau Redang → George Town (flight) Day 13: George Town Day 14: George Town → KL (flight) Day 15: KL + return flight at 23:45

I feel like this might not be the most efficient route. Any tips on how to optimize the order of things (even though I’d prefer to start with Taman Negara)? How’s the best way to travel between places?

Should we book everything (transport, accommodation, activities) in advance, or can we figure it out day by day? I prefer spontaneous travel to keep things flexible, but will there be availability, or will we be struggling constantly?

Voilà l'itinéraire approximatif. Sachant qu'on est désireux de varier ce que l'on va voir et faire, on aime beaucoup la nature les paysages les randos, on voudrait voir des animaux aussi, mais on aime également très bien manger haha donc les endroits avec une bonne gastronomie locale sont très importants.

Est ce que cet itinéraire semble cohérent ? Est ce que je manque des endroits inmanquables ? Est ce qu'il n'y a pas trop de ville sur la fin ? Dalat + Hoi an + hue + Hanoi, en + sachant qu'il ne fait pas très beau au nord en février ? Que modifieriez vous en somme ? Par exemple j'ai entendu de bonnes choses sur la région de mondolkiri au Cambodge niveau nature et paysages... Mais je suis ouvert à toute suggestion !

Alright, I’m scaling back the kilometers thanks to the relevance and patience of our Cambodia experts! Here’s yet another hesitation /\ When I arrive early on 01/12 in PP, I have the choice between spending a day in PP (booking a convenience room for half a day and leaving by night bus), sleeping in PP and taking the bus to SR the next morning, or hiring a driver to head back up to PP with a nice little stop and maybe sleeping in Kampong Thom or Kampong Chhnang, then heading to SP on the 13th. Then from the 13th to the 17th or 18th, exploring Angkor. I continue to Kampong Thom and stay for 2 nights (if I didn’t do it on the way there), but I might be templed-out by then. I head to Kampong Cham, where I’ll spend 2 nights—one on the island and one on the mainland. Next, I go to Kampot and Kep: probably 2 nights in Kampot, 2 in Kep, and 1 night on Tonsay Island. On 01/28, I return to PP until 01/29. One detail: how long does it take to get from downtown PP to the new airport? Because I leave on 01/29 around 7:50 PM... Anyway, I’m ready to read your unfiltered reactions 🤓 and thank you in advance for your help!

So, my flight tickets have just been booked for a trip to Cambodia from November 4th to 27th, 2025. I’ll be traveling solo and want to explore this amazing country while getting a bit off the beaten path. I’m arriving in Phnom Penh and also departing from Phnom Penh. My goal is to travel as much as possible by bus and scooter. What itinerary would you recommend? What are the must-do things? I’m open to all tips and info. Hi everyone, I’m starting to plan my next trip to Southeast Asia this winter (2.5 months, leaving in early December), and here’s a rough outline of my route—I’d love to share it with you and hear your thoughts and tips.

- I’ll start in Bangkok and already have three spots I’ve marked: Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, and Uthai Thani (I haven’t been to any of these places yet). - Next, I’d like to cross the country from west to east to reach the Laos border. I’d love suggestions for any interesting stops along this route—I don’t know this part of Thailand at all... - Then I’ll head into Laos, probably at Savannakhet (you can usually get a visa at the border). - > I’m tempted to spend a week in Hoi An, Vietnam, since I loved that city and the area when I visited two years ago. No visa needed for Vietnam now, so it could be a nice little detour. On the map, it doesn’t look too far, but I know you’ve got to be careful with these things, and I’m not sure if it’s a good idea. Any opinions on this? - Back to Laos (maybe via Dakta), and I’ll head south along the Mekong, probably doing the Bolaven Plateau loop that I missed last time. Then Paksé, the 4,000 Islands... I’ve been before, but I’d happily go back. - Crossing into Cambodia, I’ll follow the Mekong down to Phnom Penh (I know this area and love how untouristy it is). From there, I’ll probably spend a few days in Kep (quieter than Kampot). Still undecided, though. - Then back to Thailand (BKK), likely by plane from Phnom Penh since the borders between the two countries are currently closed (plus, let’s be honest, Cambodian roads... ;-). We’ll see how things look when the time comes. - After that, I’d like to explore southern Thailand, taking it slow with short hops. I’ve got my eye on Khao Sok National Park, and I’ve heard good things about Krabi... Again, I don’t know this region well, so any info or tips would be great.

So, I think this should be doable in 2.5 months, especially since I prefer short hops of 300 km max to avoid getting too tired, and I like staying 2-3 days in each place to explore. Plus, I’ll take a week off to relax if I find a spot I love—maybe by the sea for some real downtime.

J'envisage de faire mon premier voyage en solo et j'ai choisi le Cambodge et le Laos. Je pensais faire également le Vietnam mais je me suis vite aperçu que vouloir faire les 3 sans trop courir est un peu prétentieux.

Mon projet d'itinéraire au cambodge: Phnom Penh, Kep/Kampot, Battabang, Siam Reap Au Laos je voudrais le remonter du Sud au Nord : 4000 iles, Pakse et le plateau des Bolavens, Rivière souterraine de Kong Lor, Ventiane, Vang Vieng, Lulang Prabang, Nong Kiaw ou Muang Noi ou Phongsaly. Retour en France au départ de Lulang Prabang Je voudrais rejoindre le sud du Laos par la route via Kratie et Stung Treng

Possible tout ça en 1 mois ? Je voudrais aussi prendre mon temps et savourer chaque endroit.

My trip’s coming up, and I’m having a bit of trouble with three bus/minivan routes. Usually, I find everything at this time of year, but this time—yikes!

Sandakan → Sepilok: No app for this one—you just hop on bus #14 at the local terminal (pay cash on board). But where do I catch it, and where’s the stop??

Sandakan → Semporna: From what I’ve heard, it’s the Sida Express company (great name, right? 😄). Can’t book online, but apparently, you *have* to because there’s only one bus at 8 AM. Where do I board, and where does it drop me off?

Semporna → Tawau: Found this via AI—is it legit? No online booking, as far as I can tell. Minivans leave from a stop in the Jalan Hospital area, near the Milimewa supermarket, supposedly???? And when you arrive, does it drop you at **Sabindo Square** in Tawau?????

Hello, I’m starting to plan my adventure in Cambodia. I’ve read a lot of your posts and really appreciate all your articles. Now it’s my turn to share my plans with you: 12/01 arrival in PP 13/01 arrival in SR where I’ll meet up with 2 friends for 6 days exploring the temples and surrounding areas 19/01 I’ll leave and finish the trip solo. I fly back on 29/01 at 8 PM, so I’ve got 10 days for a little immersion. The dilemma is whether to: # head to Battambang, then make my way to PP, Kampot, and 2 nights by the sea # go to Kratie and head down to Kampot with 2 nights by the sea (or, to cut down on kilometers, go via Kampong Cham to Kampot). Option 2 is my preference. I’m almost 70 and not too keen on rushing 😅 Thanks in advance for your time and any helpful tips! Françoise

Hi there! We’ll be in Singapore for a few days and have 9 days off from there. We’d love to visit Borneo, obviously not everything since we only have 9 days. Ideally, we’d like to spend the last 2 days near the sea in Sabah. Of course, we know we’ll only be able to see a small part of Borneo, but the logistics seem a bit tricky in such a short time.

There’s so much to do that I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. Any feedback from people who know the area (I imagine not many have been there for such a short trip...) would be great! Thanks!

Nous avons pour projet de partir 3 mois en avril, mai et juin avec nos deux enfants qui auront 6 ans et 3 ans. C'est encore un "projet" et nous bloquons vraiment sur l'itinéraire (qui me parait essentiel pour dessiner ce projet).

Pensez-vous que ce soit simple de faire Philippines > Malaisie > Indonésie ? (ordre le plus logique par rapport aux saisons)

Pensez-vous qu'une escale en nouvelle Calédonie ou Polynésie française au cours du voyage puisse être à envisager ?

Est-ce que l'ordre des pays vous parait le plus simple?

Bonjour, nous partons le 22/12 /2019 pour 18jours au Cambodge . Voici le circuit que j'ai crée et j'aimerai avoir votre avis sachant que nous arrivons et repartons de Phnom Penh (PP) PP : 2 nuits, visite des marchés et des pagodes. Savez vous si la messe de Noël est célébrée et si oui , dans quelle église? (je n'ai rien trouvé sur ce sujet sur internet) Kompong Cham: 2 nuits, peut être prendre un guide avec tuk tuk pour visiter la ville et les villages environnants, louer un vélo pour se rendre sur l'ile de Koh Pen Kompong Thom: 2 nuits, visite des villages environnants. Kampong Phluk ? pour être au bord du Tolé Sap. Siem REap: 4 nuits, visites des temples d'Ankor et de la ville. Puis prendre le bateau jusqu'à Battambang : 8 h de bateau Battambang: 2 nuits , visite de la ville. Puis bus jusquà Kep ou alors faire une escale dans une ville entre Batttambang et PP ? A kep : louer une vespa et se ballader , Puis Kampot: louer une vespa, visiter une ferme de poivre Aller sur une ile? retour sur PP voilà plus ou moins notre périple . Le nombre de nuits n'est pas fixe. Pensez vous que c'est jouable en 18jours ou bien est ce trop fatiguant? Avez vous d'autres propositions? En arrivant à PP quel est le transport le plus adapté pour se rendre en ville? J'ai lu que le train était gratuit. Merci par avance pour vos conseils.

Nous avons choisi de faire les visites dans ce sens pour varier les visites culturelles pour les enfants. Nous hésitons à prendre un vol pour aller visiter les temples d'Angkor pendant 3 jours mais cela voudrait dire qu'il faut tout modifier. Est ce bien raisonnable ?

Nous avons pris nos billets pour Singapour en août 2020 avec Lufthansa (pas l'affaire du siècle mais c'était dans nos prix et suis bien débarrassée de cette corvée).

Nous resterons donc 19 jours sur place.

Nous voulons visiter Singapour, voir la faune dans le Sarawak et séjourner dans 1 île sur la côte malaisienne pour faire de la plongée (nous avons exclu Sipidan et Mabul pour des raisons de coût et de sécurité même si la zone semble calme). Seul problème concernant notre arrivée et départ de Singapour, les vols Air Asia ont l'air bien plus onéreux que de Kuala Lumpur 😠 et du coup, aller dans les Perhentians après 1 séjour à Singapour ou Kuching revient relativement cher, en tout cas plus cher que d'aller sur Tioman en bus de Singapour puis en partant de Johor Bahru pour gagner Kuching. Néanmoins, je consulte les prix pour août 2020 sur le site d'Air Asia donc peut-être que les prix peuvent encore évoluer à la baisse ?

Voici donc le prévisionnel de notre itinéraire :

1-3 SIngapour 4 Singapour - Trajet Tioman en bus 5-10 Tioman 11 Trajet Johor Bahru - Kuching 12- 16 Kuching 17 Kuching-Singapour 18-19 Singapour

Je suis un peu déçue de zapper les Perhentians mais Tioman a l'air chouette aussi et peut-être plus diversifiée au niveau des activités. Les critiques d'hôtels sont aussi moins désastreuses que sur les Perhentians ... Sauf que le risque de se faire bouffer par les puces de sable m'angoisse un peu. Ma fille a la peau ultra sensible donc cela pourrait sûrement transformer le séjour en cauchemar 🤪 Et étant allergique aux piqûres de moustiques, aux guêpes etc... je la sens bien partie pour réagir à ces bêbêtes. Bref, pour évacuer ce pb, y -aurait-il moyen d'intégrer les Perhentians sans passer trop de temps dans les transports et sans que cela nous revienne trop cher ? 😊

I’d love to know if Battambang is worth the detour. If so, we’re thinking of taking a ferry across the lake, staying one night, and then flying to the islands for the second week. Which islands would you recommend—Koh Rong or Koh Rong Samloem—or is there another that’s better for relaxation, downtime, and snorkeling? Thanks for your tips!

(2 days to explore the city). - 2 nights in Battambang - 4 or 5 nights in Siem Reap (2 days for Angkor, 1 day for Kulen, 1 day for Tonlé Sap Lake) - 2 nights in Kampot - 2 nights on Koh Rong. J'ai programmé un séjour à Kuala Lumpur du 9 au 15 décembre pour assister aux 8 Heures de Sepang, et je vais en profiter pour consacrer 2 jours de tourisme. J'étais déjà allé à Kuala Lumpur en 2015, mais j'aurais toutefois besoin de quelques informations d'ordre pratique. Comment choisir le bon endroit, le bon billet pour les transports, sachant que je ne maîtrise pas l'anglais. C'est bien là le plus compliqué, car je suis déjà fixé pour les endroits où je compte me rendre, et tout le reste est réservé. Je dormirai au Sri Enstek Hotel, à Labu. Le site indique qu'il est à 3,2 km du circuit (qui est lui-même très proche de l'aéroport), mais sur Google Map, ils mettent 7,5 km.... J'ai fait des recherches d'itinéraires (train, bus...) sur Google map, mais les temps de parcours semblent erronés Voici donc mes questions : 1/ Quels transports utiliser pour me rendre depuis l'aéroport (ou depuis mon hotel si certaines personnes connaissent) à : - Grottes de Batu - Tours Petronas - Putrajaya Pour info, je n'ai pas peur de marcher, du moment que çà n'est pas trop long. 2/ Où changer de l'argent sans risque d'arnaque, sachant que le premier jour, je devrais me contenter du trajet de l'aéroport à mon hôtel (qui propose des navettes) 3/ Sur Google Map, j'ai déjà téléchargé une carte pour pouvoir utiliser le GPS hors connexion. Le fonctionnement est-il aussi pratique que lorsque je suis connecté ? Ou est-il préférable de télécharger une autre application GPS ? 4/ Les prises de courant sont-elles les mêmes qu'en France ? Hi there, I need your thoughts on the rest of my itinerary. We’re spending two nights in Phnom Penh and five in Siem Reap. That leaves us with six days, and we’d like to do Kampot-Kep and Koh Rong Sanloem. Originally, I wanted to go to Battambang, but I’m worried it might be too much. Hi everyone, We’re planning to return to Cambodia in July 2026, as a family, for the third time. Since we’ve already visited Siem Reap and Battambang, we’re not considering going back this time. Instead, we’d like to travel more slowly and take the time to settle in. We’re thinking of an itinerary around Mondulkiri, Kampot, and Koh Kong (Tatai waterfalls, mangroves, etc.). For those who know the Koh Kong province and Mondulkiri well: are these areas still accessible and enjoyable during the rainy season? We’d also like to spend 2 or 3 days on an island, but we’re not sure if it’s really feasible at this time of year (sea conditions, boat crossings…). If it’s doable, which one would you recommend? We’re planning to spend only a short time in Phnom Penh, then a few days with family near Koh Thom. If you have any other ideas, firsthand experiences, or suggestions for stops that work well for a trip in July, we’d love to hear them. Thanks in advance !
