3 beautiful places in Morocco: 3 wonderful encounters

During our last trip in October, we shared some great moments in these three homes.

In Aït Benhadou at the TIGUAMI KHADIJA hostel, the house is very well furnished. Khadija is charming, speaks French, German, Berber, and Arabic fluently. She enjoys spending time with her guests and cooks very well—even the jams are homemade.

In Skoura, at the KASBAH LA PALMERAIE guesthouse, the welcome is always warm, and Ghizlane’s cooking is just as delicious: vegetable and meat rice, seffa, sardine meatballs... And the almond tree valley is still just as beautiful.

In Amellago, at Moha’s place, we were touched by the quality of the welcome, the unique charm of the house with its farm, the homemade butter, the beehives on the terrace, and the really interesting conversations with the two brothers. Plus, the region is stunning!

Hi, Amellago is about forty kilometers from Goulmima on the road to Aït Hani. We really loved this region where we met many nomads, especially at the Assoul souk.

Hi there, Thanks Dd44 and Pleo for your replies! It’s been a few years since I last visited this beautiful region of Morocco, but maybe in April 2014! So I’m noting down this address! Have a great trip! francia

Hi, Do you think Amellago is a good destination in March? Are the roads reliable during this time? Thanks.

In March, spring is already well underway in Morocco. Amellago is a fantastic idea. I haven’t been there in a while, but I really like it.

No problem, and tarmac all the way from Aït Hani to Goulmima. In great condition winter 2023/24. It’s a really beautiful region, especially in the stunning gorges of the Ghéris. If you look closely, you can spot nomadic camps tucked into cliff crevices on the north side, just before Amellgo when coming from Assoul. How do they even (sur)live there?? Water flows at the bottom of the gorge and cliff. You can see the paths they must take!!

It's a stunning place and far from mass tourism. We stopped by MOHA’s place. A very welcoming family. We’re thinking we’ll have to make a trip there very soon.

Thanks to both of you for taking a little time to reassure me.
