Bonjour, dans moins de 3 semaines, nous serons au Québec : arrivée Québec, puis circuit en motorisé en Gaspésie, Saguenay, Charlevoix, etc... jusque Montréal d'où nous repartons. Un peu traumatisés par les Highlands d'Ecosse en Juin, avec les midges, nous aimerions nous prémunir contre les moustiques québécois (j'enfle avec les piqûres de gentils petites moustiques français ....) et acheter des moustiquaires de visage (on en a vu en Ecosse, mai pas acheté). J'ai trouvé quelques sites pour acheter en ligne, mais les frais de port sont exhorbitants, bien plus chers que les moustiquaires elles-mêmes. Connaissez-vous un magasin à Québec où nous pourrions en acheter à notre arrivée, avant de partir dans les zones exposées ? Pour le spray, j'ai un reste d'Ecosse à 50% de DEET, on complétera sans doute sur place.

J, avais acheté un moustiquaire de tête pour aller à la pêche et ne m, en suis jamais servi.! Je te l, offre donc avec plaisir mais je veux en échange la photo de ce machin sur ta tête devant le pont de Québec....
Quant à l'anti- moustique, si tu veux quand même en acheter...achètes-en un bon soit Muskol ou OFF région sauvage avec un taux de DEET à 90% .Alors que tu seras sur nos routes, nos villes, nos campagnes moi je serai en pleine forêt au bord d, un lac a taquiner la saumonée ou le doré...sans moustiquaire ni Muskol...
C'est vrai ? Même en juin ? J'ai lu (guide du Routard) et on m'a raconté des choses impressionnantes (plusieurs personnes qui sont venues au Québec). Les derniers en date : un couple de conférenciers qui a parcouru la Province de long en large plus d'une fois pour leur reportage : elle a eu les yeux clos par l'enflure pendant une semaine, et son mari a dû être traité aux corticoïdes pour une piqûre au bras. Ils ont dit que la pire saison, c'était 15/06 - 15/07, tout pile pour nous.
Tu as un truc pour ne pas les attirer les moustiques ? Ou bien est-ce qu'ils ne sortent que le soir ? En Ecosse, c'était toute la journée, avec une recrudescence le soir, si bien qu'on était cloîtrés dans le camping-car...
Il y a un peu d'exagération!!!....jamais eu de problèmes avec les moustiques, surtout en Juin......Tu peux te procurer une casquette avec moustiquaire ds les centres (boutiques)de chasse et pêche.Si tu en a besoin c'est que tu seras ds le fond des bois et ds les hautes laurentides...

Egalement pôur le soir et pour l'extérieur, procurez-vous des "spirales" telles que fabriquées par la compagnie RAID. C'est un répulsif efficace et bon marché. Il existe aussi en spray.
Cela nous fait toujours sourire chaque fois que la question nous est pôsée pcq pour nous cela n'est vraiment pas un probleme et il est tellement facile d'exagérer et d, en remettre quelques couches....

Merci Coaticook et Memphre d'essayer de me rassurer...C'est vous qui savez... Les moustiques m'adorent et me laissent des traces indélébiles après dégonflement, d'où ma sensibilité sur le sujet. J'avais repéré des moustiquaires type voile à poser au-dessus d'un chapeau, pas un truc qui donne l'impression de s'être renversé un seau sur la tête ! Mais bon, comme en Ecosse, je vais privilégier l'achat de sprays locaux, adaptés à la faune autochtone...Le muskol s'achète où ? Pharmacie ? Grands magasins ? Les 2 peut-être ? Ils sont de quelle taille en fait les moustiques (et les mouches noires ? ) ? Histoire qu'on les reconnaisse si on en croise... En Ecosse, les premiers midges (dès le premier loch), on s'est demandé au début si c'était bien ces minuscules petits moucherons, on a vite compris...😕
Quel est le meilleur que nous allons manquer ? Etant en camping-car, rien n'est figé, à part les points de départ et d'arrivée. Certes notre circuit est classique, mais c'est la première fois que nous venons ici (que nous traversons l'Atlantique aussi d'ailleurs), et ce n'est sans doute pas la dernière (si les moustiques sont gentils avec moi 😉). Nous nous somme intéressés pour cette première aux sites qui paraissaient les plus remarquables à la lecture des guides touristiques. Nous n'avons pas non plus l'intention de transformer ces vacances en marathon (déjà que nous sommes crevés), et fera ce qu'on peut en essayant d'en profiter un maximum sans passer toutes les journées à rouler.

Me revoilà ! Eh bien, tu t'es décidée pour la Baie James ! Là oui, tu auras besoin d'un chapeau ou casquette moustiquaire. Mes parents sont allés l'an dernier dans une pourvoirie dans le grand nord; sur le lac, ils n'en ont pas eu besoin mais sur la terre, oui oui oui. Il y avait du moustique dès l'aube, un peu moins au gros soleil et beaucoup à la tombée du jour.
Au "petit" nord où je vis, je suis de l'avis de Memphre. Faut pas en faire un plat. Moi, je porte parfois un chapeau moustiquaire lorsque je vais cueillir des framboises mais là, je plonge la tête dans le framboisier, alors... Pour le reste, un bon répulsif et, en camping, on fait brûler des spirales, on porte des vêtements clairs qui cachent les bras, les jambes et les pieds à la tombée du jour surtout. Même autour d'un feu de camp, ils sont "achalants" comme on dit ici. Sinon, ça se vit très bien mais je ne suis pas allergique et je vis avec les moustiques depuis ma tendre enfance. Surtout, ne pas porter de parfum et éviter de se laver les cheveux trop souvent...

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
