Bonjour, j'ai un projet qui me trotte dans la tête depuis un moment. J'aimerais aller en Inde pour découvrir ce continent et y faire plein de rencontres.
Pour le moment mon choix se porte sur l'Inde du Nord... Mais rien n'est décidé encore.
J'ai entendu parler de Workaway pour les travaux en tant que bénévoles. Y en a t-il parmi vous qui ont déjà fait cette expérience?
Comme mon voyage est encore au stade du projet j'aimerais avoir des conseils pour bien le préparer. Que ce soit pour le visa , les choses à emmener, le coût du billet ... bref tout ce qu'il faut faire avant pour pouvoir partir tranquille.
Je n'ai pas de date arrêtée encore. Je sais par contre que ça se fera avant l'automne prochain, voire l'été prochain. Si tu as des conseils pour bien préparer ce genre de voyage ça m'aiderait bien. Pour le bénévolat j'ai longuement regardé le site de WORKAWAY qui me parait très bien pour combiner voyage et bénévolat. Une bonne façon faire connaissance avec le pays et ses habitants.
Je pensais à l'Inde du nord mais en fait en lisant les différentes offres sur WORKAWAY je ne sais plus trop où je pourrais poser mon sac.
D'autres questions : quelle période est la meilleur pour arriver là bas? Combien faut il débourser entre le visa et les assurances(type santé rapatriement au cas où ...) et biensûr le billet d'avion ?
Plus ça va et plus j'ai l'impression de ne rien savoir en fait. 😕
Pour les billets tu dois pouvoir en trouver sur la super compagnie aérienne "Emirates" pour 600€ aller-retour, as-tu défini la ville où tu souhaites arriver ?
Pour les assurances parfois "la carte bancaire dorée" vaut vraiment le coup, sinon les assurances multirisques peuvent se prendre à l'achat de ton billet, ça coûte une quarantaine d'euros mais souvent elles ne dépassent pas 3 mois (je ne sais combien de temps tu souhaites partir).

Quant à l'assurance je vais voir parce que je compte partir plus de trois mois.
Es tu allée en Inde du sud ou du nord ? Pour une première fois tout le monde me dit que le sud est plus sécurisant et moins déstabilisant. Bangalore me tente quelque peu. Workaway a une liste d 'hosts là bas.

je n'ai voyagé qu'à Calcutta (est), car mon projet était de passer 15 jours auprès des Missionnaires de la Charité.
En dehors de participer le temps de quelques jours à cette magnifique mission, l'Inde est une expérience en dehors de tout, on ressent un fourmillement général et immense, c'est vraiment dingue. Rien que l'odeur de ce pays est magique !
Avec les sœurs j'ai pu découvrir une léproserie, davantage située dans les terres, et donc plus en retrait de la ville, mais cette ambiance persiste je crois où que tu sois...
Finalement et ce n'est pas péjoratif bien au contraire, mais j'ai vraiment eu l'impression que tout était encore très similaire du film "La Cité de la joie".
C'est donc très différent de nos manières de vivre à l'occidentale, c'est peut-être en cela que ton entourage parle "d'insécurité", mais c'est juste une insécurité de l'esprit de part cette gymnastique mentale que tu feras sans cesse pour t'adapter à tout ce que tu découvriras.
Je crois que si tu es à l'écoute de cette différence, ça te bouleversera plus que ça t'insécuriseras, mais bien sûr il te faudra dissimuler tes effets personnels et ne surtout pas te laisser tenter de faire don de quoi que ce soit (même si c'est vraiment très tentant au vu de toute cette misère). Enfin évite de te promener seule lorsqu'il fera nuit.

I’m a volunteer leader at a youth center (MJC), and we’ve been deeply moved by everything happening in Madagascar—extreme poverty, endangered animals, deforestation, and so on. Plus, one of our teens has a Malagasy friend, so our group wants to travel there next year.
Throughout this year, they’ve planned fundraisers to collect donations (sheets, dish towels, schoolbooks, hygiene products, etc.) and funds to cover their trip and stay.
They’re really motivated and generous—they already volunteer in schools and senior centers, and they’re always welcomed warmly.
But so far, they haven’t found any organizations in Madagascar willing to host them for two weeks (orphanages, schools, animal protection parks, etc.).
Does anyone know of any contacts, please?

Hello, we’d like to travel as a family to Madagascar (2 parents, 2 kids aged 10 and 12). A first trip over 15 years ago completely amazed and moved me with its beauty, kindness, and life experiences—but also its poverty and hardship. That’s why I think it’s possible to introduce our kids to this island while also doing something useful through volunteering. The window is short—15 days in March 2020—which means avoiding the north and east of the island due to cyclones and focusing on the south instead. Some ecovolunteering projects exist online, but the cost is sometimes prohibitive, and kids are rarely accepted. Do you have any ideas or contacts? Thanks in advance!
