Hi there, I’m visiting Rome from May 20th to 30th. For sightseeing, if you’ve got any great tips or unusual spots, I’d love to hear them. For the classics, should I book online in advance? For meals, I’m also looking for good little places (little = not too expensive). Thanks in advance for your replies.

Best regards,

Christian

Hello, Yes, in peak season, like the month of May, you’d better buy your tickets online, especially for the Vatican museums. For Ancient Rome, if you show up at opening time—so no later than 8:45/9 AM—you won’t face too long a wait, even though there’ll already be a bit of a line... For any other info, use the search engine on this very forum, top right: ...Search"... whether it’s for unusual visits or bookings, the forum is full of answers. CG

I’d avoid visiting the Vatican museums on Sunday, May 26th—it’s free entry day and gets way too crowded...

We’ll be in Rome from May 21 to May 24, 2019. For guided tours, I’ve got a great tip— the more of us there are, the cheaper it gets. 1 person: 100 €, 2 people: 50 € each, 3 people: 40 € each, 4 people: 30 € each. The tours last between 2.5 and 4 hours. There are two of us— interested?

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply and your suggestion. I’m waiting to hear back from a guide recommended on this forum. Once I do, I’ll get back to you to see if we can team up to lower the prices. That said, I won’t be much of a "benefit" since I’ll be on my own.

Best regards,

Christian

Thanks for your reply—this said, it’d be 40 € instead of 50 €. Check out the site "Promenade dans Rome" to get an idea. I’ve looked at all the sites, and this one seems good to me: max 10 people, whereas the others have 15 to 25 people.

Hi there!

If you're spending a few days in Rome, check out https://bonjourrome.fr/. You'll find all the info, addresses, and must-see visits to discover the city! I would've missed out on so much without these rich and varied resources. And if you need to contact them, their team is super responsive, friendly, and helpful—and everything’s in French! I recommend them 100% !
