Hi everyone,

I’m planning a trip from Porto to Cascais to Lisbon. Is there a direct bus from Porto to Cascais where we’ll be stopping for 2 days? I know I can take a train from Porto to Lisbon and then switch to another train for Cascais, but I was wondering if there’s a direct bus to avoid a connection and the detour via Lisbon... I haven’t found any train options, anyway. On Red Expressos, the bus company, they don’t list Cascais as a destination from Porto. But maybe there’s another company? Thanks in advance for your tips!

I also use the "Rome2rio" site a lot to plan our trips by car or public transport 😉. Public transport options are listed on this site, along with the names and websites of bus and train companies 😉.......

Thanks, I already knew that site. Unfortunately, the results aren't very helpful—all the options require a transfer in Lisbon, except for one bus that leaves at midnight and arrives at 4 AM... not very practical! I was wondering if anyone knows of a direct bus company (and during the day :D) that runs this route without needing to switch buses or trains.

I don't know if I can help more 😉

Hope you find what you're looking for...

To answer this topic, FlixBus is an option I’ve often used from Porto. There are lots of routes across Portugal leaving from the Campanha bus station (which you can reach by metro from the city center).

For Cascais, for example, there are 3 departures every day (roughly morning, early afternoon, and evening), and the trip is direct with no connection in Lisbon. It takes about 4 hours and costs less than 10 €.

Other destinations like Braga, Coimbra, or of course Lisbon are also served by the company.
