Nous pojettons moi et mon amie de venir AU canada en Mai 2008 (premiere Quinzaine du mois) pour une durée de 9/10jours.
Je vous propose notre circuit comme suit :
Arrivée à Montreal matinée du 4/05
J1 MONTREAL (on y reste 2jrs et 2nuits pour visiter vite fait)
Le 6/05 matin direction
J3 QUEBEC( on y dormira 2nuits) : J3 visite de la ville J4 visite de Baie Ste Catherine pour y voir les baleines et eventuellement visiter une reserve Amerindienne.
Le 8/05 matin direction
J5 TORONTO (1jr et deux nuit) : J6 On hesite entre Wonderland et le Zoo de Toronto et J7 passera la journée à Niagara Falls
Le 10/05 en fin d'apres-midi direction
J8 Montreal On y reste jusqu'au depart le 13/05 pour la france...
Nous avons fait qlqs recherche pour evaluer les frais de deplacement, et pensons qu'en louant un vehicule ce serait moins coutant...?
Quel est votre avis, j'ai effectuer une evaluation des tarifs pour pret d'un vehicule type economic, cela me nous reviendrais environ à 200euros chez autoescape (mais qd il disent km ilimité y a t'il des conditions telles que l'interdiction de sortir du territoire Quebecois et un plafond à 3000km comme dans d'autres compagnies???)
Sinon pensez vous que les transport en commun serez plus avantageux en rapport qualité/prix que la location d'une voiture avec le carburant et les taxes autoroutes????
Enfin concernant la location du vehicule y a til une difference de prix à la pompe entre un vehicule diesel et un vehicule essence???

Pour le transport il faut louer car ici les transports en commun c'est pas ca sauf dans les grandes villes.Pour les vehicules 90% sont a l'essence sans plomb et il n'y a pas de difference de prix avec le gazoil ou presque, les autoroutes sont gratuites heureusement car tu vas voir l'etat 😏.Sinon pour ton trajet il y a pas de probleme prend un bon guide tourisque en France et visite.Tu trouveras toujours des gens pour te dire que ca c'est pas beau ou bon...etc.

Logiquement (pour vous éviter des km inutiles) vous devriez arriver à Toronto et repartir pour la France de Mtl, même de Québec.
C'est à vous de voir avec le transporteur que vous aurez choisi; je sais que c'est possible avec Transat pendant plusieurs mois de l'année.
Réalisez bien que Mtl-Toronto, c'est six heures de route sans compter les pauses et les ralentissements de la circulation toujours possibles, même probables.
Les transports en commun sont très bien développés dans un seul endroit, justement à l'intérieur du corridor où vous circulerez, celui de Québec-Windsor. Écrire le contraire c'est mal vous renseigner.
De Toronto vous pouvez faire un aller-retour dans la même journée à Niagara Falls en train ou en bus.
Dans le calcul de vos frais de déplacement en voiture, n'oubiez pas les frais de stationnement dans les villes.
Retour à Mtl par train ou bus (selon vos moyens).
Pour le reste du séjour, on loue la voiture après et après seulement avoir visité Mtl, ville qui se visite très bien à pieds et en métro.
Aujourd'hui le prix de l'essence à Mtl est de 1, 11 et celui du diesel 0, 10 de plus le litre... une différence appréciable.

heu !!super rentable ton affaire, le train un aller retour au mois d'avril montreal toronto 140 $ par personne et en bus meme periode 180 $ non !! il faut arrete la voiture est le plus pratique pour se deplace en vacance et reviens moins cher.il faut sortir de temps en temps.Les touristes viennent ici pour decouvrir pas pour se faire chier.

je suis alle sur Autoscape il parle pas de franchise en cas d'accident renseigne toi bien.Sinon en passant par une agence de voyage cela peu coute moins cher par exemple chez Avis, au mois de septembre quand je suis venu en France j'ai loue une voiture 400 euros la semaine kilometrage illimite prise aeroport nice retour aeroport Paris par l'intermediaire Martini voyage a Antibes, sur le site internet d'Avis il annoncait 600 euros et au guichet aeroport 800 euros .

"Kilométrage illimité", c'est vraiment illimité, comme son nom l'indique. Il n'y a aucun plafond, aucune restriction, et tu peux, évidemment, sortir du territoire québécois (et même du territoire canadien, tant que tu ne pousses pas jusqu'au Mexique).
Pour l'avion, la question n'est pas "billet ouvert" ou "billet fermé" (là tu parles de dates). Nous, on te parle de destinations : bien souvent, arriver dans une ville X et repartir d'une ville Y ne coûte pas beaucoup plus cher en Amérique du Nord.
bonjour Tu crois que les transports en commun soit plus pratique sur une periode de 8 jours de vacance, surtout quand il faut rejoindre sont hotel, porte ces valises de doite a gauche, attendre les correspondances entre chaque bus ou autres .Pour toi les vacances c'est de passer sont temps a attendre un bus, un train...avec une voiture tu peux visite beaucoup plus d'endroit sur un trajet, le bus lui ne s'arrete pas ou tu veux et puis il n'y a pas que les centres ville a visite.Enfin chacun fait comme il veut.
Ca ne sert à rien d'aller jusquà Baie Ste Catherine, il n'y aura pas de baleines a cette période. Je l'ai deja faite fin juin et je regrette parce quil ny avait rien a voir.
peut etre pouvez vous rester plus longtemps à quebec et visiter les alentours.
ps : je pense qu'il vaut mieux prendre une voiture de location que les transports en commum car tout n'est pas accessible et la voiture c'est quand meme plus pratique, vous serez plus libre.

Alors pour Québec et ses environs ya pas mal de choses à voir surtout si vous aimez la nature.
Pour la ville vous pouvez visiter le vieux quebec, les fortifications, le petit champlain, les plaines d'abraham, le parc de la plage jacques cartier.
Pour les sortie le soir je vous conseille Grande allée, la rue st jean, rené levesque ou avenue cartier.
Ensuite si vous voullez magasiner; allez à Place Laurier, Place Ste Foy et Place de la cité. 3 centres d'achat qui regroupent 500 magasins.
Pour les alentours de Québec vous avez biensur les chutes montmorency, l'ile d'Orléans (quoique à cette période il ny aura rien a faire, mais vous pouvez y faure un tour pour voir vu que cest juste en face des chutes), le canyon ste anne ou les 7 chutes, et à ne pas louper le parc de la jacques cartier, un peu plus au nord de quebec, vous y trouverez des paysages magnifiques.
Avec tout ca je pense que 3 à 4 jours sur Québec ca ne sera pas trop.
Tout un débat Montréal-Québec !! Location d'auto ou prendre l'autobus ? Voici le pt de vue d'une autre ville, Gatineau (C'est à 200 km a l'Ouest de Montréal, en face d'Ottwa, la capitale fédérale) L'avantage de l'autobus (http://www.greyhound.ca/fr/) est que vous arrivez généralement en plein centre-ville. Donc, j'opterai pour cette solution si mon voyage se limite a la ville même et aux attractions centrales. Faut pas oublier que les transports en communs ne fctionnent pas 24 heurs sur 24. L'automobile avec tout ces inconvénients 0essence-stationnement) offre aussi bcp de possibilité, comme celui de sortir des routes et d, aller se promener autour des centres.... Donc tout dépend ultimement de ce que vous voulez voir. Quel type d'hébergement avez-vous prévue ? Camping ou Hotel ?
Autrement je suis toujours surpris lorsqu'on veut visiter Québec-Montréal-Toronto-Niagara Falls en un gros 9-10 jours.... Concentrez-vous que sur un seul corridor : Montréal-Québec, en rajoutant a la limite Ottawa et les Musées a Gatineau ou encore Montréal-Toronto, cela sera déjà bcp.

Nous arriverons le 21 octobre à Montréal pour y passer 3 jours
Nous allons ensuite à Sherbrooke retrouver notre petite fille qui fait ses études à l université, nous y restons 3 jours et ensuite profitant de sa semaine de relâche nous l embarquons avec nous pour passer 3 jours à Québec.
On a prévu d aller aux chutes de Montmorency et l île d Orléans

Classic itinerary: arrival in Calgary, Banff, Jasper, Clearwater, Whistler, Vancouver Island, departure from Vancouver.
I know you can’t see into the future any better than I can, so I’m obviously not asking what the wildfire situation will be like in a month...
But if any of you could let me know if, CURRENTLY, there are major difficulties—not just for locals, of course, but for tourists as well?
We’re hesitating between taking the chance or canceling what we still can.
We’re not young anymore and don’t have the flexibility we once did...

A friend is renting a car for an upcoming trip during the All Saints' holiday.
Nowadays, all rental cars come with GPS, but do you know if you can use it without paying for the GPS rental? I have no idea since I always use my own!
After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏

We went as a family to Mount Rushmore in 2023, where my son bought a multi-function pocket knife like the one below with his name engraved—'NOAH'.
Unfortunately, he just lost it, and he was really attached to it. So, if there’s a kind soul passing by Mount Rushmore who could bring one back for me (I’d obviously cover all costs), that would be amazing for my son.

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

We’ll be alternating between house swaps, motels, and campgrounds. I’ve booked all the accommodations (except the campground at Bryce since sunset bookings open only 14 days in advance) and the first activities, as well as the most touristy ones.

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.
I’d love to take a road trip and visit Nova Scotia. I’d appreciate some info on the best cities to see and the most interesting spots. The trip should last about 10 to 15 days, staying in hotels or motels. Thanks in advance!

Is it pretty easy to navigate Detroit Airport to catch the connecting flight to Grand Rapids (domestic flight)? There are several of them who speak English well.

**Viewpoints on the East Side:**
Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?

I'm shocked by the price of the Upper Antelope Canyon tour—$175 for less than an hour… You might say, "if you can’t afford it…" But the real question is whether it’s really worth it, because $350 for two makes me feel like I’m getting ripped off. I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.

I’m planning a week-long family trip to NYC in October 2026. The focus is on museums and soaking up the New York vibe. I’ve been checking Airbnb, but the prices in Manhattan are through the roof. Since I don’t know NYC well, is it "wise" to look outside Manhattan? Any neighborhoods you’d recommend?
After our first trip to the West, we’d love to go back to see other must-see spots!

Just a little post that might interest some of you:

I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!
