Hi everyone

I’m spending a week in Paris and I’m looking to stay somewhere for the fewest euros possible :) Thanks for your help

Try FIAP, which isn't far from the Glacières metro station.

The positives: it's cheap, breakfast is included (though you’ll have to get up early), there are secure lockers at reception (with a deposit), and the vibe is really fun. There’s an indoor and outdoor terrace, public phones, and tons of info about Paris.

The negatives: as far as I know, there are no private rooms, so you’ll be sharing with one or more people, depending on your request and how much you’re willing to pay.

They definitely have a website. Worth checking!

If you don’t mind being a little outside Paris (just a few km), there’s a private college that rents out its rooms during the summer... A paradise-like setting with gardens, ponds, and big trees—super cheap, and breakfast is included again (though you’ll still need to wake up early). The only downside is that it’s not in Paris itself, and you’ll have to take the RER to get there, with the nearest station about a 10-15 minute walk away (sounds fine, but after a night out, you’ll wish you didn’t have to, lol). If that doesn’t put you off and you want the name of the college, I’ve got it somewhere in my paperwork at home. If you’re interested, message me, and I’ll try to dig it up for you. 🙂

I knew I was forgetting something: there are still people who offer to rent out a room, and the good thing is you can negotiate. You can find that kind of section right here on VoyageForum.

Also, you can check out Hospitality Club—there, people don’t ask for anything to host you, except that you cover your own expenses and food.

There you go! 🙂

Hi Vanquish,

What is the Hospitality Club? Since I’m starting a sabbatical next week, I’d like to travel a lot without breaking the bank and also meet people from different countries and cities.

I live in the Paris area and can host someone for a few days in return.

Thanks, and maybe see you soon!

The cleanest and cheapest hotel I've found in Paris is Formule 1. I don't have the exact address, but you can find it in the Yellow Pages. The showers are outside the rooms, but it's always clean—just a 10-minute walk from Porte d'Orléans metro station, 38 € per night. But I'm open to other (or better) "great tips"!

Hi, I went to Paris in 2001 and stayed in a convent. I’m not sure of the address anymore, but I’ll try to find it for you. It cost me $350 for 8 nights with breakfast, and it was right next to a metro station.

Hi there, There are youth hostels in Paris for around 20 € a night, including breakfast http://www.fuaj.org/fra/ (you’ll need to buy a membership card). There are also hostels—same idea, same prices—but no card to buy. You can search on Google.

Hello Tigrou83, If you're arriving from abroad and don’t yet have all the documents required for a traditional rental, shared housing (colocation) is often the easiest way to find a place quickly in Paris.

You can check this out: https://www.appartoo.com/recherche/colocation/paris

There are shared rooms offered directly by individuals or coliving managers, with processes that are usually more flexible than traditional agencies. It could be a good way to find a place while you complete your trial period and build a stronger application. Good luck!!! 😛

Hello! Tigrou’s last message was in 2005... Do you think he’s still around? 😉
