Suite à un séjour en France en septembre et octobre prochain, nous prévoyons aller en Espagne du 2 au 22 novembre. Nous ne savons pas trop jusqu'où descendre pour avoir de la belle température. Nous préférerions ne pas trop faire de route et éviter de nous rendre jusqu'à la Costa del Sol. Est-il possible de se baigner à la plage dans les environs de Valence à cette période de l'année? Devrions-nous plutôt rouler et nous rendre dans le coin de Malaga?
Nous voulons louer un appartement ou une maison car avec 2 jeunes enfants l'hôtel est hors de question. Nous avons commencé à vérifier des possibilités aux alentours de Salou suite à un message sur le forum.
Si vous avez des suggestions côté activités à faire avec des enfants (nous aurons nos vélos), le climat ou l'hébergement à prix modique, ce serait très apprécié.

nov du cote de valence c'est un peut frisquet .. pour la baignade .. si tu ne veut pas aller jusqu'à la costa del sol .. pousse vers Almeria la route est très bonne style autoroute .. et gratuit .
autour de almeria .. il y a pas mal de villages ou il y a plein de locations de maisonnettes a louer .. pour pas cher car tu seras en dehors de la période touristique .. pour les enfants ce n'est pas mal car il y a les villages ou se tournent les films .. dans l'arrière pays .. et les plages sont agréables ..
almeria même n'a d'intérêt que pour faire son shoping et aller boire des coups a la andalouse .. ( una cana con boquerones )
mais tu peut trouver ton bonheur dans les petit villages de bord de mer ..

Oui comme explique Thuan, ca va faire un peu juste pour se baigner du cote de Valence-salou en novembre. Salou, c est beaucoup de beton en plus, du balneaire-residentiel, qui meurt en hiver. Dans ce coin lá, plus "vivant" tu as Vilanova, ou Sitges. Mais c est vrai que plus au sud, Almeria, et la zone du Cabo de Gata est assez surreel, plus chaude et en plus tu as la possibilite de litteralement nager avec les poissons.
Je reviens de Vilanova justement, c'est très chouette, mais je crois que pour se baigner en novembre c'est trop au nord. L'année dernière je m'étais baignée en octobre mais j'étais vraiment TRES motivée 🤪 ...
Moi aussi je recommande Almeria ou le Cabo de Gata. Ca fait moins loin que la région de Malaga quand-même et la Costa del Sol c'est comme Salou : bcp de béton. Evidemment il reste quelques jolis coins mais ça va vous faire beaucoup trop de route je pense.

Nous serons en Europe pendant 3 mois et demi et ce ne sont que les 3 dernières semaines qui ne sont pas encore organisées. Dans l'ensemble, nous avons conclus de super ententes à l'amiable avec des membres du présent forum. Nous louons pour des sommes symboliques des appartements et des maisons de ces derniers. En gros, notre trajet ressemble à:arrivée à Genève (18 août), un ami de Nantua (près d'Annecy) nous aura trouvé un véhicule d'occasion à acheter10 jours à dans le Valais Suissetout le mois de septembre à La Baule2 ou 3 jours à Paris2 semaine en Alsace1 semaine dans le Jura10 jours près de Grasse pendant le congé scolaire de la Toussaint
C'est le restant qui reste à planifier. Nous sommes rendus au 3 novembre et nous reprenons l'avion de Genève le 27. Notre auto doit aussi être retournée à Nantua car notre ami la revendra pour nous.
Les options sont donc: (toujours pour 2 adultes et 2 enfants)
plan original: descendre en voiture jusqu'à Alméria (sud de l'Espagne), trouvé un appart ou une villa et y passer 2 semaines avant de remonter sur Nantua.
option 1: (tel que proposée dans la présente discussion): descendre de Grasse à Barcelone en voiture, y passer quelques jours pour au moins avoir un bref apperçu de l'Espagne (nous n'y sommes jamais allé), trouver un endroit où laisser la voiture et prendre l'avion pour les Canaries. C'est vrai que le prix est "dérisoire" (environ 432 euros/ 4 pers). À la fin, remonter sur Nantuas en voiture.
Les autres possibilités seraient de partir de France mais à un prix pas mal plus élevé: Nice (1700 euros), Marseille (1200), Lyon (1300), Genève (1150) et sans avoir la chance d'au moins voir un petit peu l'Espagne.
Donc, je vais commencer à étudier les possibililté de logement (à pris assez modique) aux Canaries. Croyez-vous que c'est plus cher ou moins cher à cette époque (novembre) que le sud de l'Espagne? Et le climat?

Bon, plus on y pense et plus les Canaries nous tentent pour terminer notre escapade européenne. Nous sommes vraiment très intéressés! Pendant les 3 premiers mois de notre voyage, nous serons complètement indépendants (locations de maisons, achats aux marchés et cuisine nous-mêmes en évitant le plus possible les restaurants) alors aux Iles Canaries nous aimerions prendre ça plus relax en choisissant possiblement un hôtel tout inclus.
Certains membres du forum recommandent de choisir une autre ile que Tenerife mais selon mes recherches, les billets d'avion à partir de Barcelone sont moins chers pour cette destination (432 euros pour nous 4) en comparaison avec Lanzarote à 774 euros et Furteventura à 776 euros. Est-ce exact? Si oui, je concentrerai mes recherches sur Tenerife. J'ai commencé à regardé l'hôtel Iberostar "Las Dalias". Le connaissez-vous?

bonjour il ne faut pas toujours ecouter ce que l'on dit sur Tenerife!! l'avantage de cette ile c'est qu'elle est tres diversifiee au niveau des paysages, le sud est tres aride, au centre il y le pic du Teide ( 3700 m ) avec tout autour une mer de lave ( paysages grandioses ) et le nord tres vert avec ses champs de bananiers
je ne suis pas une adepte du tout inclus, pour 2 raisons, la premiere c'est que tu ne goutes pas la cuisine locale et il faut savoir que Tenerife est une zone detaxee, la vie et les restos ne sont pas chers et on y mange tres bien, et en plus meme si les buffets a l'hotel sont super bien cela restera assez repetitifs de plus si tu veux un peu visiter l'ile il vaut mieux etre en demi pension, l'ile fait a peu pres 70 km de long sur 60 km de large donc sur 15 jours tu peux visiter toute l'ile sans te priver des joies de la plage et de la baignade, il y aussi une excursion qu'il faut absolument faire c'est une journee sur l'ile de lanzarote (130 € par adulte car tu pars en avion) c'est un paysage lunaire inoubliable et assez unique, pour les locations de voiture il faut compter 155 € la semaine et le litre de super est a 0, 60 ct d'euros !! il y a beaucoup de residences ou tu prendre la demi pension, je pourrais te donner plein d'adresses sur l'ile
de plus il y a beaucoup d'hotels qui ne prennent qu'un enfant de moins de 12 ans par chambre, sinon l'berostar est tres bien

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

I’ve planned a trip to Asia for the first half of November.
I’ll arrive in Singapore at the start of November for about 3 days, and I’ll leave from Bangkok in mid-November.

I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊

Hello, We’re heading to Finnish Lapland near Rovaniemi as a family at the end of February with two kids (8 and 14 years old). We’ve got direct flights with Luxairstours. The itinerary is already set, but I’m wondering if anyone has traveled with Luxair before and knows exactly what kind of clothes they provide on the second day? The agency just told me it’s a heavy-duty cold-weather suit. I’m thinking we should get Sorel Caribou boots, maybe second-hand. Here’s what I’ve already planned:
- Thermolactyl leggings and tights from Damart for the whole family as a base layer.
- A first layer of Damart socks + Nordic Stocks socks in 70% merino wool for all four of us.
- Loose fleece layers, including some Polartec.
- Ski pants for hikes.
- For my son and me, a The North Face Himalayan down parka with a hood.
- A ski parka for my husband and my 14-year-old daughter (she *really* wants a Roxy one—I hope it’ll be warm enough).
- For myself, for the flight and the first day at Santa’s village, I’ve packed The North Face winter hiking pants, a long-sleeve merino wool top from Decathlon (thin), a fleece, and my big parka.
I’m wondering if I should just pack fleece joggers or sweatpants for the kids and my husband, at least for the first and last days, to be comfortable on the plane?
I’m also planning to buy balaclavas and neck warmers in addition to our beanies, as well as mittens for all of us. I really need advice because I have no idea—I’ve never been skiing! Also, for a 4-night, 5-day trip, should I pack a second set of base layers, like from Odlo?
Of course, I’ll be leaving cotton clothes out of the suitcase.
As you can tell, I’m someone who gets cold easily—especially my feet, hands, and ears—so that’s my biggest worry. I *don’t* want to be cold, even at -20°C during dog sledding, snowmobiling, or aurora hunting when we might be standing still. We won’t be in the city, and the kids will likely spend most of their time outside, as they usually do.
