Hi there,
I bought a flight ticket with Air India departing from Paris and arriving in Bangkok with a layover in Delhi. I didn’t include my third given name when booking, but it’s on my passport. Could this cause a problem at boarding?
Also, with an 8-hour layover in Delhi—no need to recheck bags or leave the international zone—do I need an Indian transit visa?
Thanks for your help!

Hello, I’m traveling this May to France and have a layover in Dubai with a 4h45 connection.
Could you let me know if I need to collect my luggage when I arrive at Terminal 3 to depart from the same terminal?
My travel agency is telling me to pick it up, go through customs, and then check in again for my departure with my luggage. That seems odd to me.
Could you confirm whether this is correct or not?
Best regards.
Hi there,
Lately, when I check Skyscanner (sorted by price low to high 😛), I don’t see Gulf airlines at the top of the list anymore. Instead, Air India dominates (I flew with them a few years ago, and my experience was pretty mixed). After that, there’s Royal Jordanian… and the first Gulf Air, Etihad, and others only show up at 7XX € or more (with endless layovers). What’s going on with these airlines? Did they change their target market? I really like these routes for Southeast Asia trips because they give you a perfect midway break.

I’m planning to take Air France from Paris to Trujillo with my 2 bikes in boxes. I have a layover in Lima and a change to LATAM Airlines for Trujillo.
On the way back, it’s Santa Cruz in Bolivia via Lima (LATAM Airlines) and then Air France to Paris. During the layovers in Lima, do I need to collect my luggage and the bike boxes and re-check them for the second flight? It’s really hard to get through to Air France for this kind of question.
Hi,
I’m leaving for Brazil in two weeks with my partner and just realized I made a mistake on the flight ticket regarding the middle name. Usually, I never include one, but this time I wanted to add my partner’s middle name—and instead of putting it on his ticket, I put it on mine. So now I have an incorrect middle name (a male one, no less!). Otherwise, the first and last names are correct. Do you think this could cause a problem, given that the middle name is optional? Thanks!

Hi, I have a flight from San Diego to Newark with a layover at Washington IAD (Dulles).
In Washington, do I need to collect my luggage or will it be transferred automatically?
Hi,
We’d like to travel to Guadeloupe as a family (5 adults) for Christmas 2025. We’re leaving on the first Saturday of the school holidays and returning on January 1st—we can’t leave outside of the holiday period. Could you give me a rough idea of what a reasonable price is for that time? Is booking as soon as reservations open a good deal, or should we wait?
Thanks for your help.

Not very reassuring...

Hi there, I'm Cameroonian and I'd like to know if there's a reliable airline where someone can buy their flight ticket and travel without any issues from Cameroon to Bolivia.
Hello and happy new year in advance,
Is the airport in Guadeloupe "Pointe-à-Pitre Maryse Condé" and "Aéroport Pôle Caraïbes" the same?
Because on my Air France ticket, it now says "Pointe-à-Pitre Guadeloupe Airport - Maryse Condé PTP."
Thanks again,
Serge

Hi there!
In August, I’m planning a flight with a layover between Las Vegas and Pointe-à-Pitre. Departure from Las Vegas at 11:50 PM – Arrival in Miami at 7:50 AM Layover from 7:50 AM to 9:55 AM Departure from Miami at 9:55 AM, arrival in PTP at 1:10 PM
I’m a bit stressed about the 2h05 layover. What do you think? Is that enough time?
Thanks for your replies! Marc

Hi everyone,
You’re probably aware that Premium Economy classes are becoming more and more common among regular airlines. I wanted to get your thoughts—do you think the value for money is good? Personally, I’ve tried British Airways and Emirates Premium Economy, and I absolutely loved them! I do wish we had access to Fast Track and/or the lounge, but otherwise, I really think it’s an excellent alternative. Photos of Emirates PE

Hi everyone,
For my round-trip flights between Milan and Tashkent, I have several airline options, with Turkish Airlines being the most familiar and offering plenty of combinations. But I’m also being offered an outbound flight with a layover in Baku via Azerbaijan Airlines and a direct return (7.5 hours without stretching my long legs 😱) with Uzbekistan Airways. I’m not a fan of flying at all (I feel uneasy when I’m not on solid ground, but it’s a necessary evil when you’re short on time). However, I’m tempted by the idea of trying these two airlines and getting a glimpse of Baku Airport.
Do you have any advice that could tip the scales toward curiosity or fear?
Catherine

Hi fellow travelers ;-)) 😎
(Flying Emirates A380 Economy Class)
This will be MY FIRST TIME on the A380 😎 in just under a month (I’m also an aviation enthusiast), and I’d really like a window seat.
But I want to fully enjoy the view—if it’s clear, of course—and I’d prefer to avoid the wings. From the available seats, there are quite a few at the back, but only 3 or 4 just ahead of the wings (though they’re more expensive!!). I’m hesitating because seats are selling fast, but if I end up choosing one toward the rear, will I still be blocked by the wings? (They’re so long and wide!!!) :-0
Thanks so much for your firsthand experiences!! 🙂
Hi everyone,
I’m sorry in advance if my post isn’t in the right section!
I’m planning to spend a week in Beijing using Air France’s GP tickets, trying my luck with the R2s—that is, a ticket without a reservation that only lets you board the plane if there’s space left. However, I’ve seen that to enter China, you need to show proof of a return ticket.
Have any of you experienced this situation, in China or any other country with the same requirements?
Thanks so much in advance! :)

Hi there. Thai Airways is offering a ticket with a flight from Paris to Bangkok, then Bangkok to Seoul, with a 2-hour layover in Bangkok. Is that doable? Normally, I won’t have any checked baggage to pick up. Thanks
Hi,
I just booked a trip to Vietnam on OPODO. The reservation is confirmed, but I can't figure out if they send an e-ticket and when? The site is pretty unclear, and it's hard to get information. I couldn't find any answers on the forums about e-ticket issuance. The airline used is Turkish Airlines, but it's the travel agency (so OPODO) that issues the tickets and sends them to the customer.
If anyone has any info or has had a recent booking with OPODO, thanks in advance.
Have a good evening
Hi everyone, I have to leave for Canada and I’ve got a layover at Paris CDG. A friend of mine will be at the airport to see me. What are the options for us to meet up? Can she access my terminal (T2E), or can I leave the international zone?
Hi,
I’m trying to book 2 flight tickets on SATENA’s website. After entering my personal details, it asks for: "Business name, fiscal identification and fiscal ID"... and I can’t skip this step. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance
Hi there,
Have you ever traveled with this airline? It seems like they have a real monopoly on some destinations and are also much cheaper.
Thank youuuu.

Hi there,
For my upcoming trip to Thailand, I’ve narrowed it down to Emirates and Air India and would love to hear recent feedback from members who’ve flown with them.
I’ve noticed on several sites that reviews for both airlines are pretty negative. I’m not surprised about Air India, but I read they’ve been acquired.
I flew Emirates twice in 2018 and was surprised by the drop in recent reviews. It almost makes me think of Etihad, which I initially liked but then declined (I’m not sure what their situation is like now).

Good evening,
I’m leaving next Tuesday, January 14, 2020, with Thai Airways for Bangkok, and I just noticed that my husband’s flight ticket was marked as "Mms" (Mrs.) instead of "Monsieur" (Mr.). I called the airline, and they told me I have to pay at least 50 € (okay, I guess that’s manageable), but they also said I have to pay the difference between the ticket price at the time of purchase (April 2019) and today’s price—huge difference.
Has anyone else had this issue, and more importantly, can anyone tell me if there’s a risk in showing up for check-in? The first and last names are correct.
Thanks for letting me know as soon as possible because I’m starting to panic a little.

We bought round-trip tickets from Mulhouse/Basel to Maun (Botswana) in January 2023 through Option Way.
Turkish Airlines issued the entire round-trip tickets. The flight plan was:
31 August 2023: TK 926 from Basel/Mulhouse to Istanbul and TK38 from Istanbul to Johannesburg 1 September 2023: Airlink (4Z)300 from Johannesburg to Maun. 11 September 2023: Airlink (4Z)301 from Maun to Johannesburg and TK43 from Johannesburg to Istanbul 12 September 2023: TK1923 from Istanbul to Basel/Mulhouse.
On 1 September, on the outbound trip, Turkish Airlines flight TK38 from Istanbul to Johannesburg arrived 1 hour and 30 minutes late due to airport congestion. As a result, we missed our connection with Airlink flight (4Z) 300 from Johannesburg to Botswana (even though the initial layover time was sufficient for the connection). Upon arrival at Johannesburg Airport, a Turkish Airlines agent greeted us, booked us a room near the airport, and rebooked us on the same flight for the following day, 2 September. On 2 September, after numerous difficulties checking in at the Airlink counter in Johannesburg, we finally reached our final destination with a 24-hour delay. We lost our first day of vacation in Botswana, including the activities that were planned for that day. On 11 September, during our return trip and almost certainly due to the rescheduling of the outbound flight, the Airlink check-in counter in Maun did not recognize our tickets issued by Turkish Airlines. After many searches and phone calls, we had to buy new tickets for the Maun/Johannesburg flight 4Z301. This cost us 9,306 Botswana pula (643 €). Upon arrival in Johannesburg, the Turkish Airlines check-in counter again had trouble identifying us for flight TK43 from Johannesburg to Istanbul. It’s clear that the root of our check-in problems stemmed from the renumbering of our tickets when the Turkish Airlines representative rebooked us on the Airlink (4Z)300 flight for 2 September. During this process, all subsequent flight tickets must have been canceled. Since our return, I’ve requested the following from Turkish Airlines: · Compensation under the European Regulation EC 261/2004 of 11 February 2004 for flight delays, amounting to 600 € per passenger. We meet all the conditions: departure from a Franco/Swiss airport, arrival at the final destination more than 4 hours late, and a distance greater than 3,500 kilometers. Turkish Airlines has not provided evidence that they did everything possible to avoid this delay. · Reimbursement for the Airlink Maun/Johannesburg tickets on 11 September, which we had to pay again to Airlink even though we had already paid for them through our agent, Option Way. Turkish Airlines refuses compensation on the grounds that they complied with all regulations. Turkish Airlines and Airlink are passing the buck when it comes to reimbursing the tickets we paid for twice. For Turkish Airlines, claims can only be made through their website, and each time a different agent responds. I’ve contacted our insurance, legal protection, the travel ombudsman... without success. Currently, the case is with a lawyer working for "Air Indemnité," but I have little hope. Obviously, I won’t be flying with Turkish Airlines again—they seem to have a habit of not respecting schedules or customer satisfaction. A good lesson for planning very long layovers.

Hi there,
Does anyone know of an agency that specializes in flight delay compensation with a reasonable commission? The ones I’ve come across online charge 27-30%.
Thanks

Hi there,
I’m looking at tickets for Thailand, and China Southern has some great prices. When I check reviews on TripAdvisor, though, there are some really bad ones—but as usual, people only leave reviews when they’re unhappy. So I’d love to hear how this airline generally is?

Hi there,
I need to book my tickets to Marrakech for 2025. For those who’ve already flown with Royal Air Maroc, do you know if I should include the accent on my last name? I’m also unsure whether I should include my second first name (it’s not a compound first name).
Before making a mistake, I’d rather ask around.
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
I’d like to book a flight ticket with Virgin Australia to go to Tasmania.
At checkout, I enter my bank card details, but they keep telling me my card number "is too short." What should I do? The number is correct.
Thanks for your help

I just had to bring back another unforgettable souvenir besides my simple hotel hassle for Thanksgiving in Page, Arizona!
So, I decided to head back last Wednesday on "the" flight that was going to have a problem leaving Phoenix! 😉
Just to remind you, last year I had a flight delay issue due to a Lufthansa strike.
This year, I decided to go even bigger! ... So, we board British Airways flight BA0288 out of Phoenix. Everything goes well until takeoff. The plane takes off, we're in the air for about 30 minutes, and then they announce that the plane is turning back to land in Phoenix due to an issue with one of the engines...
I’d later find out from videos that the engine in question was simply spewing flames... Terrifying! 🤪
So, back to Phoenix airport—I’ll spare you the details—flight canceled. At 3 AM, British Airways staff finally manage to find me a new flight (the same one the next day, by the way). So, after 5 endless hours of waiting, I know I’m leaving 24 hours later, on December 7th at 8:40 PM.
I ask them to book me a hotel room, since that was the condition for agreeing to leave 24 hours after my original flight.
The British Airways staff tell me all the hotels are fully booked and that basically, I’m on my own.
So, just to clarify... *All* the hotels in Phoenix. I did a quick search—about 62,000 rooms fully booked in Phoenix! Wow! 😛
Thanks, British! So, stuck on foot in an airport at 3 AM, with zero desire to drop $100 on a taxi to find a hotel, and the same the next day to get back—especially since I can’t trust them to book a room, and I doubt they’d reimburse me easily afterward... I end up more or less forced to sleep in the airport...
I’ll spare you even more details—no meal the next day, not even a drink... Just a bottle of water and a sandwich the first night (I should’ve taken more if I’d known...).
The next day, British Airways staff finally show up around 4:30 PM, fresh, well-rested, and showered... Meanwhile, I’d been struggling like a homeless person in that damn airport, sleeping on the floor, filthy...
I ask to see the manager, explain my misadventure after an emergency landing, and remind them that the least they could do was help me get a hotel room.
The manager—super cold and borderline rude... All she can say is:
"We’ve done everything we can for you. Have a good flight, sir!"
So, I wanted to give British Airways a little shout-out.
Of course, since then, British Airways hasn’t responded to messages or even tags on social media...
Now, I just have to deal with the compensation claims, which are well-deserved this time...
To be continued...
