je pense passer 15 jours en corse pendant les vacances d'été 2013. J'ai établi un itinéraire et j'aurai voulu quelques conseils touristique pour compléter mon tour de corse en 15 jours.
Je voyage avec mon épouse en moto et nous dormons dans les différents camping.
Je suis attentif à tous renseignements et vous en remercie d'avance.
Nous sommes impatient de partir cette été.

1ère journée :
L'ILE ROUSSE – ST FLORENT *Distance au environ de 46 KMS
Débarquement à l'Ile Rousse
Visite en matinée de la ville de St FLORENT
Après midi direction St FLORENT par la côte par N197/1197 puis D81
( Arrêts en route à la plage d'OSTRICONI puis diverses pauses suivant paysage en traversant le DESERT DES AGRIATES.
Arrivée à ST FLORENT au camping ( Repas à ST Florent )
2ème journée :
Journée complète à St FLORENT ( Visites diverses de la ville)
(Pour notre compte journée complète à la plage si possible à celle du LOTU avec son eau turquoise )
Question :Je voudrais savoir un chemin praticable pour me rapprocher le plus possible de cette plage ?
3ème journée :
St FLORENT – MACINAGGIO en longeant la côte *Distance au environ de 86 KMS
via NONZA -CANARI – PINO – MUTE – port de CENTURI – BARCAGGIO ( Pointe de l'île )- MACINAGGIO
Arrivée à Macinaggio en fin de journée au camping.
( Arrêts divers et repas en route suivant paysage et ville, plage de NONZA au passage)
4ème journée :
Journée complète à MACINAGGIO
( Promenade + plage + un peu de repos cela ne fera pas de mal aux fesses !!!! )
5ème journée :
MACINAGGIO – CORTE * Distance au environ de 104 KMS suivant itinéraire.
Via BASTIA – PONTE-LECCIA – CORTE
Question : Plusieurs routes s'offrent à nous, pourriez vous nous indiquer SVP la plus belle ?
Les visites en chemin ?
Visite en matinée de la ville de BASTIA puis arrêts et repas en route suivant paysage.
Arrivée au camping de CORTE en fin de journée.
6ème journée :
Journée complète à CORTE.
Visite le matin de la citadelle puis déjeuner à CORTE
Après midi, ballade sur la route de la vallée de la RESTONICA jusqu'aux bergeries puis un peu de marche pour voir les différents lacs au dessus.
7ème journée :
CORTE – PORTO-VECCHIO *Distance au environ de 174 kms
Via GHISONI – AULLENE – ZONZA – PORTO-VECCHIO
( Arrêts et visites et repas au fil de la route ) je crois qu'il y a quelques cascades au col d'Illarata.
Question : Pourriez-vous nous dire SVP ce qu'il faut voir et visiter en suivant cette route.
Arrivée fin de soirée au camping près de PORTO-VECCHIO.
8ème journée :
Journée autour de PORTO-VECCHIO avec le choix des nombreuses plages : Plage de CARATAGGIO – SANTA GIULIA ou RONDINARA
La fin de soirée et début de nuit repas et visite de BONIFACIO.
9ème journée :
PORTO-VECCHIO – ABBARTELLO * Distance au environ de 104 Kms
via BONIFACIO – SARTENE – PROPRIANO – ABBARTELLO
Visite le matin en route de la ville de BONIFACIO + falaises et sans doute les îles LAVEZI
Déjeuner à BONIFACIO
Arrêt en route à la plage de ROCCAPINA
Puis camping de ABBARTELLO en fin de journée
10ème journée :
Journée autour de PROPRIANO
Plage en matinée et déjeuner à PROPRIANO
Après midi petite boucle des villages de montagne ( OLMETTO – CASALABRIVA – PETRETO-BICCHISANO puis retour par le haut D757.
Retour camping en soirée.

11ème journée :
ABBARTELLO – PORTO-OTA * Distance au environ de 139 Kms
via SERRADI FERRO – ACQUA DORIA – PORTIGLIOLO – AJACCIO – CARGESE – PIANA – PORTO
Petit déjeuner en route à AJACCIO et visite de la ville
Remonter sur PORTO avec visite rapide de CARGESE et arrêt obligatoire aux calanches de PIANA.
Arrivée au camping de PORTO en fin de journée
12ème journée :
Journée complète à PORTO pour dernier bronzage avant fin des vacances et un peu de repos
(Ballades à pied et sans bruit le long des côtes !!!!!)
13ème journée :
PORTO-CALVI * Distance au alentour de 80 Kms
via PARTINELLO – OSANI – L'ARGENTELLA – MANSU – CALVI
Arrêts et pause suivant paysage au cours de la route
Arrivée au camping en fin d 'après midi

14ème Journée :
Journée complète à CALVI et les alentours
Visite de la ville et de citadelle en matinée + phare de la PUNTA REVELLATA

15eme journée :
CALVI – L'ILE ROUSSE * Distance 24 Kms
Embarquement sur le bateau et retour au ''bercail''

St Florent le lodo ou la saleccia y'a une piste pour y aller, je sais pas si en moto ça vaut le coup...sinon y'a le bateau environ 13€/pers aller retour, qui vous dépose directement au lodo et vous pouvez aller à pied en 45min a saleccia, par la cote, c'est une promenade agréable qui vaut le coup.
Le tour du cap en une journée pour atterrir à Macinaggio c'est faisable mais dommage. Toute la route y'a une vue splendide! A chaque virage!!!! Et à chaque village!!! y'a des plages superbes aussi! Pas de sable blanc comme à st florent mais uniques!
Si vous allez à Barcaggio en chemin ça vous fait un détour rien que pour descendre à la plage du bout du cap ça prend quasi 20 min (40 aller retour) car c'est une petite route de montagne donc on roule doucement! On peut rencontrer des chèvres et des vaches sur la route ou d'autres voitures ;) Alors après ça on profite un peu de la plage...ça fait long la journée.
Éventuellement aller directement à macinaggio et le lendemain, attaquer le sentier douanier qui fait le tour de la pointe, si vous êtes courageux, aller jusqu'à la plage de barcaggio, si vous vous arrêtez avant, à la tour santa maria, ça vaut le coup aussi!
Pour aller à corte, j'aime bien passer par Piedicroce et m’arrêter juste avant à la source d'orezza! C'est petit, juste un filet d'eau ferrugineuse qui jaillit du sol et un petit magasin avec eau et produits dérivés..mais c'est perdu dans le maquis, et c'est corse!!! ;)
Je laisse les autres répondre pour le sud!
Vous allez vous régaler quoi qu'il arrive!! Mais roulez doucement! Surtout en été, tellement de voitures et de bus! Profitez du paysage...

C'est très sympa de discuter avec une personne qui connait bien l'ile de Beauté.
Je comprends qui y a de superbes paysages à chaque virage et je pense que moi aussi je serai tenté de m'arréter de partout car je suis vraiment fan de ces paysages.
Mais voila en 15 jours il faudra parfois tourner la poignée.
J'ai pu voir le sentier qui mène à la plage du lodo mais avec une grosse moto + bagages il faut que la piste soit parfaite.
Je vais prendre l'option de la marche à pied.

Qq conseils...Pour aller à la plage de l'Ostriconi, c'est une piste d'une bonne dizaine de km. En été, tu vas bouffer de la poussière. C'est faisable à moto comme en quad ou en 4x4 mais parfois pas commode ! D'Ile-Rousse à St Florent, tu vas passer par Casta, une bonne route sympa.
Pour aller à la plage de Lotu : à pied par le sentier des douaniers, assez long est sans trop d'ombre. Si non prendre le bateau-taxi qui part de St Florent et amène à cette plage (le mieux est le "Popeye", aller-retour en fin de journée.
Cap Corse : tu as des plages bien plus belles que celle de Nonza : roule dès petit matin jusque Centuri (joli port, achètes de quoi pique niquer) puis, en passant par le Moulin Matei, remonte vers Tollare ou Barcaggio (bonnes routes) et bon bain ! Redescendre vers Macinaggio.
Macinaggio : une belle balade pédestre vers la tour Santa Maria (prendre de l'eau, fait chaud) par le sentier des douaniers : à moto, tu peux rouler qq km avant de marcher.
Aller à Corte : soit par la nationale 193 (tb route) ; soit en passant par la Castaniccia (petite routes) : Folelli->Piedicrocce->¨Ponte Leccia->Corte. Je te conseille par la nationale. Là, une petite visite de la ville. Et le lendemain :
La Restonica et le lac de Melo en une journée cool (et lac de Capitello plus haut si vous avez la forme).
Aller à Po-Vo : la route est assez sinueuse et plein de choses à voir. Arrêt dans un village pour déjeuner (Cozzano, Zicavo et les charcuteries). Deux solutions à partir de Zonza : soit par Bavella, soit par la forêt de l'Ospedale (sachant que Bavella est un incontournable comme Bonifacio).
Sud Porto-Vecchio et Bonifacio : partir de bon matin pour faire la sortie en mer. Soit uniquement les falaises, soit une bonne journée aux îles Lavezzi (avec pique nique sur l'île + de l'eau + chapeaux : pas d'ombre sur cette île !) Mais faire au moins la petite sortie, c'est très joli !
Je te conseille d'aller à une des plages en fin de journée, au retour de Bonifacio (si vous en avez pas encore marre du soleil) : moins de monde ! Attention : Bonifacio pratique des prix pour riches : préférer un petit troquet vers le bout du port (vers l'embarcadère Sardaigne) !
9ème jour : Si vous n'avez pas eu le temps de visiter Bonifacio, c'est sympa pour la vieille ville et le cimetière. La route vers Sartene est très bonne.
Propriano : c'est bien de faire un peu de montagne ! Vers Propriano : Aller à Campomoro et petite rando-baignade sur le sentier très joli !
Remontée ver Porto : Ajaccio est une grande ville, bof. Et les Sanguinaires seront de la merdouille quand vous aurez vu le reste (avant et après). Allez direct vers Porto, faites en sorte de voir les calanches au coucher du soleil.
Selon vos envie, faire la sortie en mer vers la Girolata à partir de Porto !).
Porto-Calvi : soit par la côte mais c'est un peu monotone après ce que vous aurez fait (*), soit par Evisa, Calacuccia, Ponte-Leccia, Ile Rousse, Calvi. Des amis motards l'ont fait et c'est magnifique. Au lieu de rester à Porto, faire ça, dormir vers Ponte Leccia et le jour 13 redescendre vers Ile Rousse...
(*) ... Ou alors faire comme vous avez dit (par la côte de Porto à Calvi mais tirer jusque Ile Rousse?) Rien de super à Calvi.
Dernier jour : comme vous êtes à Ile Rousse, vous balader vers les villages de Balagne : plein de petits villages, des vues superbes et reposantes.

La 9 ème journée me paraît complètement impossible.
Impossible de faire le même jour la visite de Bonifacio, l'escalier du Roi, et les îles Lavezzi.
Et en plus la plage de Rocca.
Aux alentours de Propriano vous pouvez visiter Sartène, Santa Luccia de Tallano et son moulin à huile, c'est là aussi qu'on vous expliquera comment les vaches tombent sur les voitures 🙂
Pour la 11ème journée, juste un ordre d'idée, si vous passez uniquement par la côte et vous vous régalez les yeux (parce qu'il y a de quoi) le trajet peut prendre 4 heures, d'Abbartello à Ajaccio..
Et si vous passez par là, ne manquez pas de descendre dans la baie de Cupabia.
Pour la 12 ème journée, si vous n'avez pas profité de la baie de Cupabia, vous allez regretter amèrement d'avoir choisi Porto pour votre journée farniente et bronzage. Plage vraiment pas terrible et pas grand chose à voir là, hormis les calanques, et sauf si vous consacrez cette journée à une sortie en mer pour la réserve de Scandola.

Je pense que pour la journée à BONIFACIO il faudra sans doute que nous fassions l'impasse sur une visite si la journée est trop chargée.
J'ai peur que parfois je sois trop optimiste, mais je voudrais faire le maximum. Sinon il me faudra revenir une 3ème fois.
Pour ce qui est de porto, je me souviens vaguement de la plage et ville et je me rappelle que la plage c'est du galet.
J'ai marqué cette étape pour partager les temps de route et trouver des campings.
Il n'y à pas beaucoup de KMS mais les temps de conduite sont multipliés à cause des virages et sans doute du monde.
L'avantage , c'est que cela se fera en moto.

Comme j'ai pu le faire aux autres personne, je vous remercie pour tous ces conseils et renseignements.🙂
Sur certaines étapes, il va peut être falloir être obliger de faire quelques "sacrifices" et passer rapidement ou pas sur certaines visites.
La farniente et la baignade passent dans un 2ème temps et je préfère en avoir pleins les yeux.
Pour la plage du lotu/loto je me suis encore indécis sur le moyen de transport.
Par le chemin en moto cela me parait risqué et par l'intermédiaire d'un 4*4 au départ du relai c'est un peu chère 20€ par personne.😠
Je pense prendre l'option du bateau même si c'est à peu près le même prix le moyen de transport est plus sympa.
Je vais prendre tous les avis pour mes visites en cours de route et j'établirai un dernier ROAD-BOOK quelques jours avant de partir.

Plage de Lotu : tu peux bien sûr y aller avec une moto mais il te faut une moto de cross. Y'en a qui le font à vtt ou à cheval. Mais classiquement, c'est à pied à partir de la plage au sud de St Florent (sentier des douaniers) ou avec la navette à partir du port de cette mm ville.

Ce sera une très belle journée ! Avec un sacré dodo le soir.
Entre Ghisoni et Ghisonaccia, le défilé de l'Inzecca ! Vous allez faire pratiquement que de la montagne sauf entre Ghisonaccia et Solenzara : 30 km de plat (c'est là que vous pourrez faire un détour de 500 m pour venir boire un coup chez moi). Route étroite entre Vivario et Ghisonaccia-St Antoine. Le reste est assez large ; je sais que les motards se régalent de Porto-Vecchio à l'Ospedale (sens montée). Du monde à Bavella mais no pb avec moto pour se garer.

New to the forum, but not so new to Asia 😄
I’m Nico, from Switzerland, currently based in Bangkok. I love taking my motorcycle out to get lost in the mountains and small villages of Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and more. I’ve been roaming around this area for a good fifteen years now, racking up quite a few kilometers—especially in northern Vietnam.
This time, I finally decided to tackle the Mae Hong Son Loop, clockwise. I’d been to Pai several times before, but oddly enough, I’d never done the full loop.
So, I’ll try to give you a little recap here, day by day, with the roads, stops, places worth checking out… and those that didn’t quite blow my mind 😅
I also filmed the trip, so I’ll post the corresponding video at the end of each day if that’s okay. If it’s not allowed here, just let me know, and I’ll remove them without any issue.
DAY 1 — Chiang Mai → Doi Inthanon → Mae Chaem → Khun Yuam
I left Chiang Mai after renting a Honda ADV 160 from Pop Motorbike. Not exactly an Africa Twin, but for what I had planned, it was more than enough.
Quick hotel note: I stayed at the Lanna Thaphae Hotel before leaving. Around 30 € per night, super well-located, and probably one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. A crucial detail for any motorcycle road trip, obviously.
The plan for the day was pretty straightforward:
Head toward Doi Inthanon… and see what happens.
Flawless Swiss organization.
First stop along the way at Wachirathan Waterfall. A really nice waterfall, very easy to access, but don’t expect to channel your inner Indiana Jones—it’s crowded, touristy, and swimming isn’t allowed. Still, it’s a pretty stop along the way.
Next, up to Doi Inthanon.
The road climbs steeply, and my little 160cc started to realize that carrying my 80 kg to Thailand’s highest point probably wasn’t part of its youthful dreams. I was maxing out at 34 km/h in some spots.
But it made it. Good little bike.
The summit is nice—the forest is beautiful, and it’s cool—but I have to admit, it didn’t completely wow me. Glad I went, but not necessarily the highlight of the day for me.
Because then comes Route 1192.
And that’s *much* more my thing: small mountain roads, beautiful scenery, hardly any traffic… the kind of road where I usually start taking way too many unnecessary detours just because a little side road “looks fun.”
Stopped in Mae Chaem for a bite to eat, then headed to Khun Yuam to finish the day.
A little over 200 km in total.
Khun Yuam is… quiet.
*Very* quiet. 😅
A cute little market, a couple of cafés/restaurants, and zero chance of ending up in a club until 4 AM. But after a day on the bike, it was perfect.
Stayed at the Mit Khun Yuam Hotel, around 20 € for a small but very decent room.
All in all, a solid first day and a pretty relaxed start to the loop. Part of this leg is mostly about getting out of Chiang Mai and really diving into the mountains, in my opinion.
Because for me, the really interesting stuff starts over the next two days…
And a few slightly questionable route decisions will also make an appearance 😅

I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?
Beyond the official recommendations, I’m really looking for your firsthand experiences.

I just realized I’ve been registered on VoyageForum since... March 28, 2012 😊. Yet, I’ve barely participated until now.
August 1, 2026, will mark a somewhat special milestone: 5 years on the road.
We left Switzerland on August 1, 2021 with a simple idea: let chance decide our direction. We placed a bottle of wine on a world map, spun it... and it chose our first destination.
A year later, when we arrived in Morocco, we faced a new choice: continue toward Africa or head to Asia. This time, a tarot card game made the decision. Since then, we’ve tried to keep this journey as open to the unexpected as possible.
Today, that adds up to about 120,000 km, 46 countries, and over 1,800 days on the road—mostly by motorcycle, but also by sailboat, train, bus, hitchhiking, or on foot when adventure calls.
Our guiding thread isn’t just the motorcycle, but service exchanges. Instead of simply passing through countries, we try to stop regularly to lend a hand to the people we meet. So far, that’s about 600 days of volunteering.
Over the years, we’ve:
renovated a house in Croatia
made earth bricks in the Moroccan desert
helped sail a boat through the Greek islands
looked after houses, dogs, horses, a camel... and lots of other animals
worked at a street art festival in Morocco
created videos for local associations and projects
worked the grape harvest on the Tibetan plateau
been accredited as "media" for the World Nomad Games in Central Asia
Some of the moments that have stuck with us the most include six months in China, a night spent on the Great Wall, the Pamir Highway, the Silk Road, three months in Taiwan, and the incredible encounters in the mountains of Central Asia.
We travel on Falkor, our lucky dragon—a 2014 BMW F800GS that’s been with us since the start and is starting to have some great stories of its own.
While we share our adventure on Instagram, Polarsteps, and YouTube, that’s not why we’re here. The forum’s rules about promotion are clear, and I totally get them. If I’m finally taking the time to write, it’s mostly because after five years on the road, I thought our experience might be useful to other travelers.

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.

I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

I’m planning a sidecar trip to South America for 4 or 5 months at the end of this year.
I’m looking for info on shipping my vehicle by sea—possibly to Uruguay or another destination, as I haven’t finalized anything yet.
How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?
Where can I get vehicle insurance?
Lastly, if any bikers want to join us (my partner and me), we’re open to that possibility too.

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

I’m Paul, 37, and I’ve already done a bit of riding in Morocco.
For now, I’m solo, riding a 1998 SUZUKI DR 650 with some basic gear to keep things smooth. I’ll have a tent so we can do a few nights under the stars.

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.
Could you share your experiences or advice?
