Je suis aller aujourd'hui en moto au cirque de Jaffar.
Comme c'est toujours la galère pour avoir des infos, voici des nouvelles fraiches.
Je précise que je suis en moto, un gros trail très lourd. J'étais en plus tout seul sans GPS, juste avec mon smartphone et maps me avec la carte du maroc en local. Très pratique car de très nombreuses pistes y sont répertoriées.
Tout d'abord j'ai fait une tentative par les gorges de Jaffar. La phase d'approche est tranquille et très belle.
Par contre la descente dans les gorges est bien raide et j'ai failli tomber 2 fois car les deux roues dérapaient parfois.
J'enquille dans les gorges et la très grosse galère. A cause probablement des grosses pluies de cette année, il n'y a quasiment pas de piste. Faut rouler directement dans la caillasse de l'oued mais tout est mou, meuble et ça s'enfonce de partout. J'arrive quand même à faire un peu plus d'1 km dans les gorges mais seul, et sans réseau plus 3 chutes évitées de peu me font renoncer. A deux motos j'aurais continué mais pas seul.
Donc demi tour pour reprendre la route direction Tounfite en récupérant la P7323 via des pistes visibles sur mapsme jusqu'au croisement qui rejoint la P7318. A droite direction Tounfite, à gauche le cirque de Jaffar. Je prends donc à gauche. La piste est petite mais sèche et pas caillouteuse donc en prenant son temps ça passe nickel jusqu'au cirque. La descente en bas du cirque est en lacets et un peu plus technique mais la aussi ça passe bien. Arrivé en bas il faut traverser l'oued. Je peste contre ma moto si lourde qui ne donne pas droit à l'erreur mais ça passe.
Ensuite on rejoint la piste qui mène à Midelt, toujours la P7318 et la ça devient un vrai boulevard.
Conclusion : Le cirque est parfaitement accessible de Midelt via la P7318 par tout ce qui roule.
En provenance de Tounfite, un 4x4 tout simple type duster convient.
Pour enquiller dans les gorges, la c'est une autre histoire, un vrai 4x4 est indispensable. En moto je pense que ça doit passer même avec un gros trail à condition d'être plusieurs et d'aimer transpirer.
Et pour terminer c'est très beau.
Et tant qu'à faire, de Midelt, il faut aussi absolument voir les mines de plomb abandonnées dans les gorges de Ahouli. Magnifique et accessible en voiture de tourisme.MK

Avant les travaux il y avait beaucoup de dévers🤪
et un rocher à contourné dans le 1er quart en haut.

Car il y en a plusieurs. Et une montée, c'est aussi une descente...
Sur ce je n'ai pas croisé ce gros cailloux.
Ca roule bien partout même si certains endroit se fond au pas. Après je parle pour une moto, pour voiture je ne sais pas.
Je pense que la liaison Midelt jusqu'au col est désormais une route inchallah, donc probablement goudronnée un jour.
Après je ne vais pas m'en plaindre.
Quand on habite ici, les pistes, ça va bien 5 minutes mais au bout d'un moment ça saoule.
Alors premièrement le rocher n'est plus la. Après sur le haut il y a encore quelque gros cailloux sur la piste mais rien de bien méchant. Vu l'hiver et le printemps pluvieux, ces nouveaux cailloux sont surement très récents.
Ensuite la piste de Midelt au cirque de Jaffar est maintenant plutôt une route non goudronnée.

je serais au Maroc à partir de la deuxième quinzaine de sept pour une boucle Tanger, Fès (par Ain-Aicha), Midelt (par la 503). J'envisage d'aller aux gorges d'Aouli (apparemment route sans problème) et le cirque de Jaffar.
Concernant Jaffar, la piste est "praticable pour tout ce qui roule" ?!?!? As tu + d'info ?
La piste paraît effectivement praticable... sur certaines photos, mais sur d'autres !?!?!?
A savoir que je serais sur une Harley Road glide (+ de 450kgs) avec une passagère.
J'ai l'habitude de rouler en bécane. Je rentre d'un trip de l'Alaska à la Patagonie avec la Dalton et un peu de la 40 sur la fin. Mais j'étais en solo sur Sportser modifié en trail rien à voir.
Qu'en penses tu ? Je ne souhaite pas me faire une galère (ni rien prouver à qui que ce soit), mais découvrir quelques endroits "encore accessible sans une foule de touristes"....
Ensuite Marrakech (chez des amis), peut être Agadir et retour par Casa, Rabat Tanger par les grands axes.

Je n'arrive pas à voir la route 503 mais si j'ai bien compris, tu vas faire Tanger Fès par Tetouan, puis la N16 qui longe la méditérranée (superbe route et paysages), Kétama (champs de cannabis à perte de vue) Taounate, Fès.
C'est une très bonne première étape mais grosse journée à prévoir.
De Fès à Midelt le mieux est de passer par Ifrane, Azrou puis la N13 jusqu'à Midelt.
Il y a 2 / 3 bricoles à voir en chemin. La journée peux se terminer directement par les gorges de Aouli et les mines de plomb, très beau et sauvage à la tombée du jour.
Avec ta bécane, la piste de midelt à Jaffar est praticable mais une fois au col qui domine le cirque, je ne pense pas que la descente dans le cirque soit recommandable car la piste n'est plus du tout la même, surtout à la fin.
Compter 2 bonnes heures mini l'aller retour Midelt à Jaffar.
Ces deux sites sont peut visités. Aouli est surtout connu par les Marocains, Jaffar par les 4x4 et trails donc peu de monde.
Après par ou veux tu aller à Marrakech et en combien de temps ?

Je serai dans le coin (Midelt) mais en 4x4 le 26 septembre avec l'intention d'aller jusqu'à la fin du possible dans le cirque de Jaffar. La dernière fois il a fallu "jardiner" avant de renoncer.
Aouli pour les 4x4 a été un cul de sac. Retour sur Mibladen et Midelt.

il m'est difficile de prévoir la date à laquelle je serais du côté de Midelt...
La saison d'été n'est pas encore terminé pour moi. Je pense être (au mieux) au Maroc (Tanger) vers le 15/20 sept. Ensuite, le parcours se fera au gré des rencontres en respectant certains endroits que je souhaite découvrir (dont Jaffar, les gorges de d'Aouli, Dades, Erfoud entre autres...). De toute façon, je serais limité par la moto (Harley) qui n'est pas prévu pour de la piste.

Les gorges d'Aoulis sont très belles et peu touristique , dommage pour les habitants du coin , nous avons des amis a Mibladen , il y a aussi la piste Aouli / zeida mais en HD ca doit etre difficile .

Je roule en gros trail, est elle roulante ou au contraire cassante ?
Et combien de temps environ pour faire la boucle ?
la piste passe au barrage , mais il ne te laisse pas forcement passer , j'au du continuer la piste jusque un peu plus haut que Zeida vers la fin de piste il y a des travaux pour faire ne route , de mémoire pas de grande difficulté , quelques endroit avec du sable mais c'est dur en dessus , de Mibladen a zeida deux heures en roulant tranquille .
Pour info ma katoche fait 230 kg avec le plein .

Le cirque de Jaffar n'est pas très loin de Midelt.
Deux solutions :
- Par les gorges, on oublie de suite avec une routière. Moi même en gros trail et seul, j'ai fais demi-tour par précaution.
- Par la piste qui part du centre de Midelt. Faisable, c'est une piste très large et plutôt roulante jusqu'au col qui domine le cirque. Après la première partie de la descente est correcte mais la seconde devient à mon avis trop délicate en routière et surtout en duo. Ca passe largement en duo en trail mais pas en routière. PAr cette piste je dirai environ une heure pour aller au col.
Sinon il y a aussi d'autres possibilités à privilégier en roulant sur du bitume et dans des paysages tout aussi beau si on est en routière.
Déjà, indispensable, les gorges d'Aouli au départ de Midelt.
Si vous croisez du côté de Fès vous pouvez faire signe par MP.

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.
I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?
Beyond the official recommendations, I’m really looking for your firsthand experiences.

Why not explore the Peloponnese!
I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.
Do a loop.
What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?
Where can I get vehicle insurance?
Lastly, if any bikers want to join us (my partner and me), we’re open to that possibility too.

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.
Could you share your experiences or advice?

Next October we’re planning to ride the Ruta de la Plata by motorcycle—a historic Spanish route that runs from Gijón to Seville, also known as the N630.
Has anyone here already ridden it?
Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.

We’ve rented two Royal Enfield 450s.
This is our first motorcycle trip in Morocco. I got my license two years ago with the dream of taking this kind of trip, and here we are! ✌️😍
In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.
Here’s the idea:
Day 1 (departure at noon): Marrakech - Tizi n Test - Tafingoult (165 km - 4h15)
Day 2: Tafingoult - Amzarkou - Telouet (200 km - 4h34)
Day 3: Telouet - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Boumalne (200 km - 3h30) (+ Vallée des Roses maybe)
Day 4: Boumalne - Dades Gorges - Agoudal - Todra Gorges - Tinghir - Goulmima (291 km - 6h)
Day 5: Goulmima - Midelt - Cirque Jaffar - Agoudim (280 km - 4h45)
Day 6: Agoudim - Imilchil - Aghbala - El Ksiba (280 km - 4h45)
Day 7: El Ksiba - La Cathédrale - Zaouiat Ahansal (212 km - 4h20)
Day 8: Ahansal - Ouzoud Waterfalls via R 302 (188 km - 4h22)
Day 9: Ouzoud - Marrakech (160 km - 2h43)
