pour les effets secondaires du Lariam, on peut les trouver à longueur de post ça va de " ça fait un peu tourner la tête " à " 5 ans après en avoir pris j'ai toujours des crises de folie "
En ce qui concerne le Malarone, on lit souvent qu'il n'est pas neutre, c'est vague et je me demande concrétement, sur VOUS qu'est ce que ça a fait, le Malarone ??
Enfin sinon c'est comme d'autre chose "on " dit beaucoup de choses mais concrétement a part le prix ça n'a pas l'air mal ce Malarone ...
D'après le médecin spécialisé que j'ai consulté lors de ma vaccination fièvre jaune, c'est le mieux supporté des anti-paludiques "forts".
A mon avis, pas d'inquiètudes à avoir sauf si tu es un "Jean-Claude Dus" à qui tous les malheurs arrivent...
on a qu'une seule vie, alors autant bien la remplir.

Après une expérience malheureuse avec la savarine nous avons opté l'année suivante pour la malarone... nous étions 6, 5 ont eu des problèmes intestinaux gênants tout au long du traitement, gênants au point de vouloir arrêter le traitement...cette année nous repartons au même endroit et le débat (comme le prouve de nombreux post sur ce forum) est à nouveau ouvert en sachant que nous excluons le lariam et la savarine, alors doxy et écran total ou malarone avec méga couverture gastrique en accompagnement? a suivre...
c'est vrai aucun medicament n'est anodin mais pour moi aucun effet de la malaronne. par contre une copine rentre du mozambique. la bas elle a rencontrer une journaliste qui croyait ne pouvoir ce passer d'anti palud en se couvrant, resultat: hopital et bonne crise de palud!!!! comme on le voit ecrit partout au senegal; le palud tue!

Désolée pour les détails mais tant pis : flatulences nauséabondes et nombreuses, ballonements permanents et dhiarrées ...cela a commencé quelques jours après le traitement et perduré quelques jours après l'arrêt. Au début nous avons pensé que c'était lié à la nourriture, changement climatique bref les soucis classiques mais la durée des symptomes, le fait que nous soyons 5 à subir cela nous dirigé vers les effets secondaires de la malarone...il a été très pénible d'aller jusqu'au bout du traitement (reprendre le boulot dans ces conditions est assez inconfortable!)....si nous gardons l'option malarone pour cette année (nous hésitons vraiment sur le type d'anti paludéen à chosir) je verrai avec mon médecin pour essayer d'amoindrir ces soucis avec des médicaments adaptés en complément...

Oh que oui on intercalait un comprimé entre deux bons petits plats, certains ont choisi le petit dej, d'autres le dej et nous le diner mais le résultat a été le même!! Je commence à me renseigner sur la doxy mais mon médecin n'avait pas l'air branché par ça donc malgré tout si nous devons choisir entre lariam, savarine ou malarone cela restera malarone j'allais dire en serrant les dents mais ce sera plutôt les fesses!

Je confirme, ma toubib qui est en général super bonne ne connaissait pas non plus le Doxypalu mais quand elle a regardé ce que c'était elle a fait la grimace ... A priori il n'y a guère le choix qu'entre le Lariam et le Malarone.
la savarine n'est pas active pour les zone de type 3, le lariam a beaucoup plusd'effets secondaires que la malarone tant qu'a la doxicycline, ma belles soeur (qui est toubib) m'a carement dit que c'etait de la folie!
oui efectivement il sagit d'une faute de frappe (je ne suis pas tres douee avec un ordinateur) quoi qu'il en soit il ne faut pas rigole avec le palud. une crise est plutot impressionnante et on en guerit pas, au plus on soigne les crises.
le traitement preventif n'est pas sur a cent pour cent mais plus que rien du tout.
il m'est souvent arrive de me faire piquer par des moustiques au traver des vetements.
je confirme. Moi aussi j'ai eu des soucis gastriques, y compris apres le retour de voyage. C'etait essentiellement un mal de ventre constant. PAs de diarhée, mais c est quand même tres désagreable.
Et puis depuis qq jours (je suis rentré depuis 7 jours et je viens tout juste d'arréter le traitement), j'ai des éruption cutanées étranges sur le visage.

Malarone ou pas ?
Pour moi c'est terminé ni savarine ni malarone, je me suis retrouvée chez le médecin locale à Madurai le mois dernier.
Levres enflées, demangeaisons sur tout le corps je devenais folle au début je pensais que les lits etaient infectés de punaises je trouvais cela bizarre puisque j'avais pris un drap house qui me servait d'enveloppe.
Le médecin locale de Madurai nous a fait arreter le traitement et je ne suis pas la seule une amie canadienne se trouve actuellement à Bangalore elle s'est retrouvé à l'hopital.
Donc avant de prendre poser bien la question au médecin au sujet des réactions

Je rentre tout juste d'Afrique du Sud. Nous étions 3 à prendre de la malarone. Mes amis RAS, par contre moi, j'en ai "chier" !!! Mal au ventre tous les matins (bas du ventre), perte d'appétit, bouche sèche, forte fatigue.... Je prenais la malarone le soir et les effets secondaires/indésirables avaient lieux surtout le matin, en fin d'après midi je me sentais mieux.
Apres concertation téléphonique avec mon médecin j'ai décidé d'arreter le traitement, en effet nous avons passé 3 jours dans le Kruger et pas l'ombre d'un moustique => beaucoup de vent....j'étais couvert complétement pour éviter tout risque de piqure !
Bref, voila la malarone est certainement un des meilleurs produit actuellement sur le marché, mais comme pour tous les médocs ca ne convient pas à tout le monde ! je vais maintenant devoir tester les autres molécules, car je comptais partir au vietnam l'année prochaine.

A moins d'envisager des treks dans le fin fond du TDC du Viet Nam, ne t'empoisonne pas avec des medicaments, meme si le risque 0 n'existe pas, la probabilite d'etre contamine ne vaut pas le prix des medicaments ni les risques pour la sante.
Maintenant, chacun est libre de faire selon ses idees, ceci n'est que mon opinion.

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

I have several chronic conditions (including asthma and related ones), and I’m planning to travel for a year across different countries.
Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...

The suspected origin is contamination in Namibia by jackals.
The contagion seems to be spreading.
Preventive vaccination (of the animals) is being considered.

It’s the bite that transmits the disease.
There are so-called "furious" forms with aggression, but also forms without aggression.
