Il y a un ferry qui va de Barcelone à Tanger. Nous venons de l'essayer.
Sur ce trajet il y a deux ferries : un par Acciona et un par Grandi Navi Veloci
Celui qui est testé en dessous est celui d'Acciona. Nous prendrons le GNV une autre fois pour comparer. Les prix sont à peu près les mêmes, le GNV est un peu plus cher et plus rapide de six heures. Pour notre projet courant, il ne passait pas le "bon" jour et cela nous aurait trop raccourci notre séjour.
A notre prochain convoyage nous descendrons sans doute par le Acciona pour remonter par le GNV (qui lui repart à une date qui nous va mieux de Tanger)
Données objectives :
Prix :
155 euros avec deux passagers en période "promo" (180 euros avec l'assurance annulation et le frais de CB)
255 euros avec deux passagers hors période "promo" (probablement 280 avec annulation et CB)
Passager complémentaire : 71 euros.
Ces prix correspondent à un aller Barcelone Tanger et ne comprennent pas le retour
Durée : 32 heures
Celui qui a été pris partait à 12 h (heure francaise) et arrivait le lendemain à 20h (heure marocaine)
Commentaires :
En période promo, il faut comparer avec les 800 kilomètres de plus pour aller à Algeciras... A cette période, le bateau à Algeciras (vers Ceuta, mais parfois aussi vers Tanger) revient entre 70 et 100 euros avec les passagers. Mais les 800 kilomètres coutent au bas mot 80 euros.. donc égalité.
Cette considération sur les kilomètres vaut pour a peu près partout en France. Pour aller à Barcelone, il suffit de rattraper soit la 4 voies gratuites de Limoges, soit l'autoroute gratuite Clermont - Montpellier. La distance en Nord Sud est tellement grande que le petit décalage vers l'est n'est pas significatif si on arrive du Nord de la Loire. Pour le coin de Bordeaux, c'est valable aussi.
Hors période promo, le bateau est un peu plus cher à Algeciras (100 - 120).. Ce n'est pas aussi valable économiquement, mais il faut comparer finement.
Le prix du passage d'un passager (supplémentaire dans la voiture, en plus des deux premiers forfaitaires) est 70 euros. A Algeciras il est de 35 euros environ. Donc si vous êtes plus de six dans la voiture, économiquement, Algeciras doit être plus valable. Sauf si vous vous arrêtez dormir dans des hôtels : La nuit est comprise sur le bateau. Si vous roulez, il faudra dormir quelque part et deux nuits d'hotel, même en Espagne, c'est tout de suite 50 euros
Mon avis:
Le port de Barcelone un peu compliqué pour s'y retrouver, une prochaine fois je saurai ou aller du premier coup. Sinon prévoir une bonne demi heure de marge entre l'arrivée "théorique" à Barcelone et l'arrivée "pratique" au port.
Le bateau que nous avons pris est sans fauteuil et la cabine est comprise dans le prix, donc bonne surprise. Sauf pour Camille au départ qui avait un billet "simple", mais en soirée quand elle a demandé a la réception où il était mieux de dormir on lui a donné une place restante. Elle était avec des françaises, c'était très bien pour elle.
C'est cabine fille et cabine homme, j'étais avec des marocaines d'Espagne. Trés sympas... mais avec des bébés ! J'ai bien dormi mais j'ai apprécié les boules Quies. Etienne était avec un français avec qui j'avais discuté.
Pour Camille j'ai payé 71 euros, le passage simple, on pouvait peut être faire mieux. Etienne (12 ans) était sur le forfait avec la voiture. Or j'ai cru voir que les moins de treize ans ne payaient que 40 euros... J'aurais du prendre Camille dans le forfait avec la voiture et Etienne en séparé. Cela ne me servira à rien au retour : Etienne a son anniversaire de ses treize ans pendant qu'on est au Maroc !
Je le referai car c'est plus reposant. Il faut payer les repas mais les prix sont raisonnables: 7,80 le repas standard, il y a des bons sandwich dans les 3,50 et on peut aussi apporter son manger

Pour la sécurité, si vous voyagez un couple avec fille et garçon et que vous voulez économiser :
Prenez le billet avec la conductrice et la fille sur le forfait. Elles auront automatiquement une cabine et seront probablement dans la même. Le conducteur et le(s) garçons(s) essaieront de s'installer quelque part, ou auront une cabine si il reste des places
Mettez des sandwichs dans les sacs.. Mais çà vaut à peine le coup (et coût)
A noter : Si vous êtes 4 il y a possibilité de prendre une cabine pour 4 moyennant un supplément. Cela, on a pas essayé, donc pas de prix et d'avis.

ce n'est pas dur mais comme j'étais juste en temps j'ai un peu stressé, je ne m'attendais pas a un port qui semble en plein ville.
Depuis j'ai regardé une carte il n'y a pas a se tromper
Sur l'autoroute (j'arrivais par Narbonne), j'ai suivi les panneaux "puerto" sans trop savoir ou j'allais réellement !
Et quand je suis arrivée a ce qui me semblait être l'entrée du puerto (c'était la sortie 17 ou 18), un gars genre policier, ne parlant pas un mot de français mais un peu anglais m'a fait comprendre que pour moi c'était pas là (j'en ai déduit après que je devais être a l'entrée pour le transport de marchandise)
Il fallait que je reprendre le "rondo littoral" (le périf de bord de mer que je venais te quitter me semble t'il) jusqu'a la sortie 21 (bon comme c'est un genre périf il y avait juste un bouchon pour accident, mais c'était pas très long)
Et la sortie 21 c'est un immense rond point avec en face ce qu'il appelle le world trade center

Je suis entrée sur ce grand rond point là ou il y a le point blanc.
l'embarquement c'est à gauche,
le batiment à droite de l'étiquette "a besos rondo littoral" juste au bord de l'eau, c'est les guichets acciona balearias (c'est écrit en gros dessus, visible du rond point) ,
c'est là qu'il faut retirer les billets.
L'avenue le long est a 2*2 voies donc si on est pas dans le bon sens (parce qu'on s'est garé pour aller aux renseignements), il faut refaire le tour du rond point pour entrer par le bon portail a l'embarquement.
C'est pas dur, mais le premier coup le temps de comprendre !!

Je viens de decouvrir votre réponse , elle va me faciliter grandement l'arrivée chez ACCIONNA . Pour infos nous sommes 4(parents + enfants 16 et 17 ans)en cabine interieue avec cabinet de toilette et douche , les repas au self + notre land rover , aller /retour 1350 euros .comparatif : Sète/Tanger A/R meme éléments presque 2000euros ! Quand on voit la comanav ;le service et l'etat du batiment je suis "étonné".

Je vais souvent au Maroc. Je vous donne mon opinion en résumé.
Douane :
- France ou Espagne RAS
- Maroc en amélioration mais corvée pour les formalités à accomplir pendant le trajet concernant l'entrée des véhicule au Maroc. Seulement 2 douaniers pour le navire et aucune organisation, les gens en arrivent à en venir aux mains. Les compagnies maritimes devraient organiser les files d'attente, cela fait quand même partie de leur rôle ceci tant pour Comanav que pour GNV; jusqu'à 3 heures d'attente!!!
Sète : facilité d'accès mais 2 bateaux moyenâgeux, chers et sales, l'ambiance est par contre accueillante il est honteux qu'à notre époque la France n'ait pas de ligne correcte avec le Maroc. (Plutôt que d'offrir pour leur prestige un TGV aux marocains on ferait mieux de leur donner 2 ou 3 bateaux)
Il y a un trafic énorme et beaucoup de gens qui habitent dans l'ouest de la France seraient heureux de gagner quelques centaines de kilomètres.
Barcelone : GNV accès au port moins facile, bateau ambiance usine (c'est un ferry..) mais propre et meilleur marché. Possibilité d'avoir une cabine seul. Acciona; je ne connais pas encore, semble plus cher que GNV.
Les tarifs "plein pot" de Acciona sont environ 10% plus chers que ceux de GNV
Par contre, ponctuellement sur les promos, ils peuvent être franchement moins chers ! Il faut regarder aussi quand est le changement haute saison / basse saison, le tarif ne baisse (ou monte ) pas exactement en même temps pour les deux compagnies. En résumé, il faut comparer à chaque fois
Le choix entre Acciona et GNV, pour nous, s'est fait pour des questions de dates de départ et retour. La prochaine fois, on essaiera le GNV (si les tarifs sont proches...)

Et depuis quand la France OFFRE au Maroc un TGV ????
La vérité c'est que le Maroc PAYE une prestation réalisée par la France... ( certes, avec des " facilités de payement..)
Que je sache, si c'est BOUYGUES France qui a réalisé la mosquée Hassan II de Casa, ce n'est pas la France qui a financé !
Quant a DONNER " 2 ou 3 bateaux "...faut pas rêver non plus.
Des bateaux, il y en a. Il suffit d'assurer leur entretien pour éviter les problèmes récurrents de pannes qui surviennent régulièrement sur les lignes de la Comanav ou Comarit...
Lorsqu'on affiche une volonté ambitieuse de développement touristique ( ..10 millions de touristes en 2010...) on met en place la logistique nécessaire plutôt que trafiquer les chiffres pour atteindre les objectifs.
1 - Bien que résidant à Montpellier durant mes séjours en France, ( et donc à 30 kms de Sète ) je ne prends plus les traversées Sète/Tanger des Comanav et Comarit ( trop cher, trop hasardeux car nombreuses pannes - voir ici : http://voyageforum.com/v.f?post=3565472; et pas trop propre ) mais je préfère aller à Barcelone ( 350 kms ) et prendre Acciona ou GNV ...

3 - Je viens de prendre mon billet retour pour fin septembre chez GNV :
Coût : 246 euros pour 1 personne + 1 voiture tourisme + 1 cabine individuelle avec

C'est le Service économique Régional de l’Ambassade de France au Maroc ( qui fait partie du réseau international de la Direction Générale du Trésor et de la Politique Economique du Ministère des Finances ) qui est chargé de ces opérations.
Je ne sais s'il y a un " vice-consul " de France à Essaouira mais , en tout état de cause, Essaouira dépend du Consulat de Marrakech qui, seul, a pouvoir de décision.

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.

I’ve found some great deals on flights to two destinations: Menorca in the Balearic Islands and Alghero in Sardinia.
The flights would take us from Bordeaux to Menorca on the evening of 9/07 and return to Bordeaux in the evening on 13/07.
Or to Alghero very early on 10/07 (departure at 6 AM) and return in the mid-afternoon on 13/07.
We love beautiful landscapes, the sea, snorkeling, walks (hiking), and the charm of villages.
We want to spend some quality time as a couple without our kids and mix discovery with relaxation.
I can’t make up my mind. The transport costs are roughly the same when you factor in parking for Sardinia since the early departure means no public transport from home.
We’ve never been to Menorca, Sardinia, or Italy at all. I’ve been to Majorca, though.
Menorca would be 4 nights and 4 days, while Alghero would be 3 nights and 2.5 days.
Also, what itinerary would you recommend for Alghero and Menorca?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:
Day 1: Brussels-Munich
Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.
This route means renting a car in Finland and dropping it off in Norway. My initial searches are showing rental rates that are... astronomical—about three times the price compared to returning it at the starting point.
I’m guessing I’m not the only one wanting to visit both countries. Are there any great tips to drastically reduce the cost of renting a car?

I’m sharing my draft itinerary with you because I just booked our flight tickets, and I feel like it’s quite late in the season. So, I’d like to be sure about my stops before reserving the hotels. I’ll be traveling alone with my two adult children. We want to prioritize outdoor walks, avoid too many indoor visits (both for budget and preference), and not spend too much time on the road.
D1: Arrival at 9 AM in Malaga, day in Malaga and overnight stay
D2: Head straight to Nerja (1-hour drive) and spend the night there
D3: Head straight to Granada (1.5-hour drive), spend the day and night there
D4: Granada. Visit the Alhambra (Nasrid Palaces tour at 5 PM) and spend the night
D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night
D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda
D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there
D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...

My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland in September 2026.
We’ll be flying from Montreal to London, where we’ll spend three nights.
After that, we’ll head to Dublin for a few days and take trains to visit the main attractions.
Our ideal plan would be to choose hotels near train stations and take tours to the interesting spots.
Would 8 days in Ireland be enough for this kind of trip?
We’re a group of 4 heading out at the end of June for 11 days.

We’ll be renting a regular car, not a 4x4.
