Le choix d'hôtel à Vegas est tellement vaste et subjectif que je ne me risquerais pas à un conseil 🤪. Un seul : si c'est le 1ere fois là-bas, alors lâchez vous et ne restez pas dans le genre "motel bien caché-pas cher" ! Visez directement un casino.
Quant au prix, aux US et à Vegas, la chambre coute pratiquement la même chose si on est 1 ou 2 ou 4 occupants ! donc avec ton budget de 200$ par chambre/nuit tu vas trouver qq chose de bien si ce n'est pas pendant le week end !!
Parmi les mieux situés du Strip : le Venetian, le Paris, le Mirage, le Bellagio, le Caesar Palace sont dans le "upper level". Un peu moins cher, il y aurait le Planet Hollywood (ex Aladdin), le Treasure Island, le Flamingo.
Plus au sud, donc un peu excentré : le Newyork-NYC, le MGM, l'Excalibur, le Luxor et le dernier au sud le Mandalay.
Pour réserver ou choisir, les sites directs des hotels ont TOUS un calendrier avec les disponibilités et le prix de chaque jour ! T'as plus qu'a choisir !!
Ne perds pas de vue que tu seras débité de la 1ere nuit au stade de la réservation avec ta Visa (ou autre), le reste payable sur place !
Voilà ! A toi de jouer !!!!

On a essayé : Planet Hollywood et on a pas trop aimé (immense et trop de néon). Mais la suite était luxueuse et l'hotel bien situé pour visiter le strip
South spa hotel au sud de LAS qui etait très bien (comme le planet hollywood) et pas cher en semaine et qui se prête bien à une visite de downtown et fremont street animée par des concerts car de toute façon tu dois prendre la voiture (on a préféré cette formule et le vieux centre avec les casinos historiques que le strip)
dans tous les cas on était passé par le site i4vegas qui offre des promos pas mal si tu prends ca assez tot
ca dépend des centrales de resa, en général c'est indiqué sur le bon de commande (débité immédiatement ou à l'arrivée). A 90% ta CB est débitée et tu donnes ton nom en arrivant.
Perso, au bout de 3 hôtels et pour les 7 restant je ne sortait plus le voucher mais je l'avais sous la main au cas où...

Le choix d'hotel est énorme à Las Vegas. C'est, et de très loin, la plus grande concentration de chambres d'hotel au monde.
Et plus qu'ailleurs, en cette période troublée, les affaires vont mal pour les hoteliers (qui souvent bradent les prix), donc bien pour les voyageurs. Surtout si c'est en semaine.
Quel hotel choisir à LV ?
Si c'est l'unique fois que tu vas à LV (ou au moins la 1ère fois, avec l'intention d'en avoir plein la vue), il faut aller dans un casino (ils font tous hotel) luxueux.
Et tant qu'à faire, en choisir un éblouissant. J'hésiterais donc entre le Bellagio ou le Venetian, assez récents et très beaux. Le Bellagio plus classique et plus chic, le Venetian un peu cucu avec un coté Disneyland (eau des canaux bleu émeraude 🤪), mais très bien fait dans son genre.
En un peu dépassé maintenant, j'aime bien aussi le Caesar Palace.
Mais cela fait longtemps que je ne fréquente plus ce genre d'hotel, et que je n' "investis" plus un sous dans les casinos.
Je ne séjourne plus maintenant qu'1 ou 2 jours à LV quand j'y passe, uniquement comme base de départ (ou de retour, - ou de récupération- ) à l'occasion d'une virée dans l'Ouest, compte tenu du qualité/prix extrèmement favorable du logement dans cette ville.
Je recherche donc un hotel plus calme (moins chic), où la partie hotellerie (et piscine) n'est pas polluée par la partie casino.
Je choisis donc sur Flamengo Rd (à 5' à pied du strip, du Paris, du Bellagio et 10' du Venetian). J'ai bien aimé un Quality inn, aujourd'hui détruit. A la place il y a un Clarion (2-3 *), tranquille, mais un peu plus cher.
Mais mon préféré (3 séjours récents) est le Tuscany Suites & Casino, proche du précédent. Petite piscine sympa, ombragée et peu fréquentée, chambres très grandes (un excellent 3*) avec kitchinette, partie casino complètement séparée (et invisible si on ne la recherche pas). Et on peut toujours aller admirer les jets d'eau du Bellagio le soir, pour digérer.
En Aout 2007, j'y ai payé 40€ ttc/nuit. En Juin dernier 48€ttc/n. Et pour Aout prochain : 30€ ttc/nuit !
Pour les résa à LV, si tu ne vas pas dans un hotel de chaine, le mieux et de réserver avant le départ par une agence en ligne telle que voyagesncf, ou mieux, hotelclub.fr.
En prix HT vers le 22-25/8/2009, le Bellagio est actuellement à 112€, le Luxor à 42€, et le Tuscany à 28 €/ nuit.
(quand on pense qu'un Formule1 en France coute 40€ !).

Pour ma part nous étions resté deux nuits sur Vegas. L'Hotel Tropicana avait largement fait l'affaire ! Ok il peut paraître un peu désuet, mais il reste sur le strip, est abordable (85 dollars la nuit, pour une chambre king size bed avec miroirs au plafond 😉), la piscine est immense et une belle vue sur les autres hotels.
Un conseil aussi, souvent à Vegas il ne sert à rien de reserver a l'avance une chambre, en arrivant irectement sur place on peut largement negocier, vue l'ampleur de l'offre ! Souvent cest moins cher ! Mais après à vous de voir si vous voulez etre tranquillle dans la tete !

Bonjour ! On trouve plein d'infos super intéressantes sur ce forum !! Mon ami et moi partons aux USA samedi 30 mai et nous avons aussi prévu de faire une étape Las Vegas, je te donnerai mes impressions sur l'hôtel que nous aurons choisi à notre retour ! 😉 mais visiblement le Bellagio semble remporter l'unanimité d'après ce que j'ai pu lire... Quitte à aller dans une ville où tout est démesuré, autant en profiter (même si c'est cher 😕), on ne le fera peut etre qu'une fois dans notre vie !!
Le Bellagio est magnifique et beaucoup de films y font référence (Ocean Eleven par exemple).
En effet ne pas hesiter à mettre 100 Euros de plus et prendre une Lake View Room sinon l'attrait du Bellagio perd un peu.
Vous aurez à partir de 17h le spectacle des fontaines et ce jusque minuit. Le son sera retransmis dans votre chambre sur une chaine speciale de la télé.
De retour depuis un mois nous voudrions y retourner.
Vous allez apprécier, vos souvenirs seront inoubliables.

Vous finissez par me donner envie de loger au Bellagio... pourtant, quand j'y suis allée, cela a beau être un palace, je n'ai pas retrouvé ce côté mythique et surrané que je recherche dans les palaces, comme c'est par exemple le cas sur la Côte d'Azur. Trop aseptisé, trop récent (à mon goût, évidemment).
Mais comme je le disais, vous finissez par me donner envie d'y loger ! Pour l'instant, nous avons réservé au Flamingo, avec vue sur le strip et sur les fontaines. Pas un palace comme le Bellagio, mais bien situé, et avec un côté mythique et kitsch, "vieux" Las Vegas, qui me tente.

Par contre, petite question (bête ???) tous les hôtels ont l'air d'avoir leur côté ludique (l'aquarium du Mandala Bay, la déco égyptienne du luxor, les jets d'eau du bellagio ...) mais on peut rentrer gratuitement "visiter" ces hôtels ou peut on aller visiter même si on ne dort pas à cet endroit car tout donne envie d'être vu ?!!
Et je lis dans le lonely planet qu'il y a un truc terrible à faire dans la stratosphere tower : un ascenseur qui monte a toute allure pour retomber en chute libre ... quelqu'un a testé ??

Oui, c'est vrai, ce n'est pas vraiment classique. Mais c'est justement parce que j'ai vu d'autres clips sur Youtube, notamment sur Mission Impossible, et... impossible de déterminer s'il s'agissait d'un montage ou de la vraie musique ! J'aurais dû dire "musique lente", par opposition à "rythmée".
Mais sympa de savoir que les spectacles sont différents à chaque fois en tout cas. L'idée fait son chemin !

On va faire "Les Ch'tis débarquent à Las Vegas" !! (Comines c'est pas très loin ...). C'est vrai que le prix du Bellagio demande quand même une petite réflexion... Après avoir regardé les clips du ballet des jets d'eau sur youtube, on n'a plus qu'une envie c'est d'y être !! Mais à presque 160 €la nuit ça réduit sérieusement le budget pour la suite (a revoir a la hausse ??). Nous partons du 30 mai au 17 juin arrivée a SF. On a deja réservé la voiture et en gros on s'est prévu entre 1500 et 1800 dollars (sachant qu'on va en gros faire SF 3 jours avec logement chez la famille, Yosemite, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Los Angeles ; on voudrait faire le survol du grand canyon, faire les studios Universal a LA ). Pour économiser on va tenter le camping dans les parcs et se remettre le dos en place dans un lit confortable a Las Vegas ! Ca vous parait juste comme budget ?? après y a la nourriture ms ça ça devrait aller ...
Sinon quelqu'un sait où avoir des codes de réduction pour les hotels a Las Vegas ??(ça ferait des économies supplémentaires)
Je ne peux pas vraiment vous aider pour le budget, je ne prévois rien d'extravagant - mais toujours confortable - et j'avoue que je n'ai pas calculé au dollar près. D'autant que nous avons la chance d'avoir des nuits gratuites à certains endroits, ce qui fait baisser la note. Je compte une moyenne de 100/120 dollars la nuit en ce qui nous concerne.
Pour l'instant, j'ai réservé au Flamingo à 100 dollars TTC. 77 EUR. Pile la moitié du Bellagio. Avec vue sur le strip et les fontaines du Bellagio, et situation très centrale aussi.
Pour les réductions, j'ai remarqué que les prix sur earlyvegas (entre autres) sont exactement les mêmes que sur le site même des hôtels. Les sites comme earlyvegas ne font que rassembler les offres promotionnelles des différents sites (ce qui est pas mal !) mais n'apportent rien de plus on dirait. Par ailleurs, j'ai remarqué qu'il y a moins de choix de chambres.
Bref, je vous conseillerais de déterminer dans quel coin vous voulez loger. Si c'est en plein strip, alors regardez sur les sites du Bellagio (!), Planet Hollywood, Flamingo, Caesar Palace, Paris, Mirage.

Ah mais sans ironie aucune, le Bellagio n'est pas pour moi un fantasme. J'y suis déjà allée (sans y loger), et j'ai expliqué ci-dessus ce que j'y ai ressenti. Le Caesar Palace était un fantasme pour moi. Réalisé, par contre. 🙂
Je me doute bien que le Flamingo est plus populaire, mais je voyage avec un enfant, qui sera sans doute plus épaté par le côté kitsch/MTV du Flamingo que par l'idée du luxe et du bon goût que se font les Américains. Par ailleurs, les chambres avec vue sur le strip sont rénovées et très sympas semble-t-il. Puis c'est quand même une légende ! J'irai au Bellagio dans... 30 ans 😛
Par contre, aller au Bellagio rien que pour faire laver mes chaussettes, ça, ce serait de la décadence. (j'aime 😎)

Nous rentrons des Etats Unis et bien sur nous avons fait un detour par Las Vegas. Nous avions choisi le Luxor. Rien a redire. Tout a était parfait.
Nous allons à Vegas deux nuits en septembre. 137 euros pour deux par nuit au Bellagio. Il faut aussi essayer d'y aller la semaine, les prix étant plus bas que le week end...
Vue sur le lac je ne sais pas. Je pense, enfin c'est ce que l'agence m'a dit...
Ne pas hésiter non plus à demander si il est possible d'avoir un "upgrade" lorsque vous prenez possession de votre voiture, chambre etc...
La magie des Etats Unis c'est de gagner des sous tout en étant sympa. Donc sil il reste des suites dans un hotel en fin de journée par exemple, il se feront souvent un plaisir de vous les louer en échange d'un petit supplément. Mais le supplément est vraiment limité comparé à celui qui aurait été payé en louant directement cette suite. Même chose pour les voitures. Ne pas hésiter à demander combien coûte un upgrade. Souvent ils le proposent eux mêmes.. A vous de négocier...

Le truc c'est d'avoir un mari qui dort plus souvent au Marriott et à l'Hilton qu'à la maison... d'où points de fidélité... d'où nuits d'hôtel gratuites pour les vacances ! 🙂

Souhaitant réserver directement sur le site des hôtels à Vegas, je n'ai pas la possibilité de demander directement 2 chambres. Or nous sommes une famille de 6 ....
Réserver une chambre, l'une après l'autre en croisant les doigts pour qu'elles ne soient pas à 200 m l'une de l'autre et attendre le check in pour demander 2 chambres côte à côte ???
Passer un coup de fil est sans doute la solution mais mon anglais n'est pas top, et quid des codes promo et des tarifs internet ?
Sur tous les sites que j'ai utilisés, on pouvait réserver 2 chambres...

Attention il est en plein centre de FREMONT STREET, pas du STRIP !! en plein centre du strip et en général pas trop cher : l'Imperial Palace, voir sur le site de Harrah's, les hot deals qui permettent de comparer les prix des chambres dans tous les hotels du groupe harrah's, sur une seule fenêtre, plus pratique!!

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏
Do you have any tips for a fun and doable itinerary over about 20–25 days with kids, without rushing?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

I had planned a trip to Colorado in 2021 but canceled due to COVID, so with time passing and my eldest’s high school graduation approaching fast, I figured it was now or never!

We’ll be alternating between house swaps, motels, and campgrounds. I’ve booked all the accommodations (except the campground at Bryce since sunset bookings open only 14 days in advance) and the first activities, as well as the most touristy ones.
I’m currently putting together my day-by-day roadbook and having some trouble planning certain days, like in LA or Las Vegas. Choosing hikes isn’t easy either—it’s tough to decide!

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?
I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.
I’d love to take a road trip and visit Nova Scotia. I’d appreciate some info on the best cities to see and the most interesting spots. The trip should last about 10 to 15 days, staying in hotels or motels. Thanks in advance!

Is it pretty easy to navigate Detroit Airport to catch the connecting flight to Grand Rapids (domestic flight)? There are several of them who speak English well.

We’d like to walk to Eagle Falls and then Eagle Lake. I’ve spotted two parking lots that seem close to each other and give access to the trailhead. Where and how do we pay for entry to Emerald Bay State Park and Inspiration Point?
**Viewpoints on the East Side:**
Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?

I'm shocked by the price of the Upper Antelope Canyon tour—$175 for less than an hour… You might say, "if you can’t afford it…" But the real question is whether it’s really worth it, because $350 for two makes me feel like I’m getting ripped off. I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!

We just finished 9 days in the American West and wanted to share our experience because we had an amazing time.
I know some of you might ask, why use an agency? Honestly, we didn’t really feel like doing all the driving and planning, especially since we didn’t know the area at all. And since our English isn’t great, having French-speaking guides was a big comfort.
We found Emmanuelle and Isabelle, and wow, they were fantastic. It was just the two of us with them, so it was a truly VIP, ultra-personalized experience. They treated us like royalty from start to finish. These two live in Las Vegas and know the region like the back of their hand. The service was really personalized. They adapted to our pace and preferences, and we could stop whenever we wanted to take photos. It’s the luxury of being in a small private group—you’re not just a number on a big bus.
In short, we really felt like we were traveling with friends rather than professional guides. Everything’s included in the price (hotel pickup, meals, park entries, etc.), so the value for money is fair.
We loved it so much that we’re already planning to come back next year to explore other areas with them. I think we’ve caught the American West bug—it’s all we can think about, and we can’t wait to return.
