voilà plusieurs heures que j'ai décortiqué de bonnes idées sur la Bretagne.
Cependant, il me reste certains points: arrivant à Nantes, je repars après 1 semaine de 7j. Est-ce suffisant pour découvrir une bonne partie de la bretagne du Sud et du finnistère (Brest)?
Est-ce suffisant pour faire 1 ou 2 îles proche du Morbihan et/ou Finnistère ou mon temps étant restreint dois-je me limiter à rester sur le continent? si je ne devais en voir qu'une, laquelle me recommandez-vous (sur un jour aller-retour, max 2 si ça en vaut plus que la peine, mais au détriment d'un autre endroit en Bretagne vu mon manque de temps!)
étant là bas, du 8 au 15 juillet, j'ai vu qu'il y avait Brest2008 et sans doute le tour de france... j'aimerai réserver, mais que faut-il mieux:
prendre un pied-à-terre entre Vannes et Brest et y rester pendant ce laps ou faire du saute-étape en fonction de notre visite?
Pensez-vous qu'avec ces événements, il soit aisé de réserver au fure et à mesure (au risque de devoir faire du camping (PS: je n'aime pas le camping!)) ou vaut-il mieux tout réserver d'avance. En gros je ne recherche pas trop les hôtels, surtout le gîte d'hôte, B&B, chambre chez l'ahbitant ou toute chose dans le mm genre!
dans le cas de devoir tout réserver d'avance, et en cas de pluie pendant toute la semaine, y a-t-il suffisament d'activité en plein air ou en ville qui ne nous tremperaient pas jusqu'aux os? car en gros c'est pour cela que j'hésite à tout réserver d'avance, car cela ne me laissera plus de place à l'improvisation. Genre aller au Puy du fou s'il pleut ou ailleur comme le Mont-st-michel qui sont en effet mieux par beau temps, mais ne nécessite pas des alcalmies comme le demande les marche en plein air au milieu de la nature ou la visite de paysage 🙂
PS: nous avons une voiture (sauf si on m'empêche de la louer sur place)
étant originaire de bretagne,
je te conseillerais de voir le golf du morbihan (Vannes) sur 3 jours, carnac, erdeven et passer ou moins une journée dans le golf et pourquoi pas sur l'ile aux moines.
c'est une très belle région mais attention il y a du monde!!! le climat est souvent plus agréable que dans le finistère.
pour changer de paysage, je vous conseil la baie de morlaix, (mon lieu d'origine) carantec, plougasnou, roscoff, c'est magnifique!!! l'avantage c'est que vous allez avoir moins de monde qu'à Vannes et vous resterez proche de Brest (60 km) si vous souhaitez aller voir les bateaux!!
je pense qu'il serait bien d'avoir deux logements préreservés du coté de vannes et un autre du coté de morlaix.
si vous souhaitez avoir des bonnes adresses de gite je peux me renseigner.
question climat, c'est moins agréable c'est sur, mais vous trouverez toujours des activités.

Le véritable voyage de découverte, ne consiste pas à découvrir de nouveaux paysages mais à avoir de nouveaux yeux;
pour une île proche du morbihan, je conseille l'île d'houat! elle est magnifique, y passer une journée y est suffisant et très agréable, on peut y circuler à pied ou à vélo (pas de voiture, ce qui est génial!!). l'eau y est d'un bleu.. mais attention pour s'y baigner mieux vaut prendre un shorty parcqu'elle est vraiment pas chaude, même en plein mois d'août!!
l'île au moines, je dis bof bof... pour s'y baigner c'est pas super, et il y a plus de monde
si vous voulez éviter la côte, le centre bretagne et ses forêts (forêt de brocéliande c'est chouette aussi)
en fait, la plage et la mer, ce n'est pas trop ce qu'on recherche à priori! enfin pas pour se baigner ^^
disons que les paysages côtiers sont magnifiques et c'est cela qui nous intéresse, donc la baignade dans les eaux froides de l'atlnatique nord, très peu pour nous, lol 😛

alors voici le programme que j'ai retenu. tout d'abord Morlaix est connu et surtout l'ile de Batz. Cependant, comme je n'ai qu'une semaine, je pensais m'axer cette fois ci sur le sud de la Bretagne et revenir une autre fois pr y faire le Nord!
Donc au mieux, je pensais faire l'ouest de Brest du côté nord!
voici mon programme: arrivé le 7 juillet: juste dodo!
8: location de la voiture, Chateaubrianc, Rennes, déplacement vers Le Faou (entre Brest et Quimper où j'ai pris logement pour 4 nuits. C'est nul part, ms placé au centre de tout et qu'il fasse beau ou mauvais je peux improviser entre aller dans la terre, nord ou sud, ville ou campagne! bref, ça me laisse le choix en fonction de la météo). Rennes est-ce une étape incontounrable? ou devrais-je directement aller dans le Finnistère passer la demi-journée?
9-10: cap du Raz, péninsule de Crozon et si j'ai du temps (justement aller à Renne ou non?) peut-être aller à l'ouest de Brest
11: Brest2008, 1x tout les 4 ans. même si mon voyage n'était pas ds ce but, ça tombe bien... je ne pouvais pas manquer ça, même si les bâteau c'est pas trop mon truc, ça peut être sympa pour un chuiche de voir des bâteau (Suisse championne de l'America's Cup! Hop Alinghi). De plus, comme c'est vendredi, j'espère qu'il y aura moins de monde qu'en week-end ou le 14 juillet ferié pr les français!
12: déplacement et visite sur le passage de Quimper, lorient, Vannes et toutes les coins sympa du litorale sud (d'ailleur lesquels dois-je m'arrêter qui vaut le coup d'oeil?). Arrêt à qques parts par encore défini, si vs avez des hébergement à recommander (max70€, ms de préférence un B&B sympa plutôt qu'un hôtel atypique)
13: Carnac + péninsule de Quibéron
14: Golf du Morbihan et îles
15: retour vers Nantes avec au passage marais salant vers St-Nazaire, parc naturel de la Brière OU me conseillez-vous de rester + longtemps ds le Morbihan (sachant que je dois rendre la voiture à 20h à Nantes, ms à peine 1h20 de voiture entre ces 2 villes)
16: visite de Nantes et départ à l'aéroport le soir
Bref, j'ai posé les grandes lignes, mais pr qques détails, si qqn avait des conseils sur le temps que mettent certains sites à être visité, un hébergement vers Vannes sympa, si Rennes est incontournable, ... je me rend compte que j'ai pas énormément de temps pr certains sites, ms bon on peut pas tout faire non plus et je limite déjà pas mal en ne faisant pas le centre et ses forêts et le nord!
C'est surtout pr les ptits coins mentionné, si vs avez de bonne balade à faire et cbien de temps pr quel ville cela prend-il à visiter.

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

Just giving you the quick context: A group of friends and I are planning a trip to South Korea (Seoul/Busan) at the end of June/July next year. It falls right in the middle of the monsoon season, but we don’t really have other availability options.😕
I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴

Hello, We’re heading to Finnish Lapland near Rovaniemi as a family at the end of February with two kids (8 and 14 years old). We’ve got direct flights with Luxairstours. The itinerary is already set, but I’m wondering if anyone has traveled with Luxair before and knows exactly what kind of clothes they provide on the second day? The agency just told me it’s a heavy-duty cold-weather suit. I’m thinking we should get Sorel Caribou boots, maybe second-hand. Here’s what I’ve already planned:
- Thermolactyl leggings and tights from Damart for the whole family as a base layer.
- A first layer of Damart socks + Nordic Stocks socks in 70% merino wool for all four of us.
- Loose fleece layers, including some Polartec.
- Ski pants for hikes.
- For my son and me, a The North Face Himalayan down parka with a hood.
- A ski parka for my husband and my 14-year-old daughter (she *really* wants a Roxy one—I hope it’ll be warm enough).
- For myself, for the flight and the first day at Santa’s village, I’ve packed The North Face winter hiking pants, a long-sleeve merino wool top from Decathlon (thin), a fleece, and my big parka.
I’m wondering if I should just pack fleece joggers or sweatpants for the kids and my husband, at least for the first and last days, to be comfortable on the plane?
I’m also planning to buy balaclavas and neck warmers in addition to our beanies, as well as mittens for all of us. I really need advice because I have no idea—I’ve never been skiing! Also, for a 4-night, 5-day trip, should I pack a second set of base layers, like from Odlo?
Of course, I’ll be leaving cotton clothes out of the suitcase.
As you can tell, I’m someone who gets cold easily—especially my feet, hands, and ears—so that’s my biggest worry. I *don’t* want to be cold, even at -20°C during dog sledding, snowmobiling, or aurora hunting when we might be standing still. We won’t be in the city, and the kids will likely spend most of their time outside, as they usually do.
