je pars pour la Norvège en Août 2009 pour 10 jours et je suis à préparer, petit à petit, mon itinéraire..
J'ai décidé de faire le triangle : ' Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim'
Je pense bien me procurer un train pass pour voyager entre les principaux points. Toutefois, je me suis rendue compte que le réseau n'offrait pas de liaisons pour mon trajet entre Bergen et Trondheim..
Ainsi, je me demandais si quelqu'un connaissait une solution pour que je puisse me rendre du Naeroyfjord à Balestrand ???
Y a t'il un bus qui fait ce trajet ou un ferry ?
Si oui, avez vous une idée des prix demandés pour ces trajets?

Je souhaite aussi partir en Norvège 10 jours en juin 2010, et faire Oslo-Bergen et les fjords.
Je pensais aller en train d'Oslo à Bergen. Après je ne sais s'il est préférable de louer une voiture, ou sil'option bus/ferry est facile à gérer sans perdre trop de temps?

Le trajet Bergen – Trondheim est gérable en bus + ferry. En voiture, à mon avis ça coûte beaucoup plus cher. J’ai fait ce trajet en 5-6 jours au mois d’août 2008 et ça s’était très bien enchaîné.
Après avoir visité Bergen, j’ai pris le train direction Flam mais je me suis arrêtée à Myrdal pour faire une petite rando en descendant sur Flam. Je suis donc descendue à pied jusqu’à Blomheller (environ 2h) un petit village où j’ai récupéré le fameux train qui descendait jusqu’à Flam (10EUR pour moins de 10min de train…). Ce n’était que de la descente et c’était largement faisable, même avec un gros sac de rando sur le dos. Depuis Flam, j’ai fait une croisière sur le Naerofjord. Ensuite, j’ai repris un bateau pour rejoindre Laerdal où j’ai passé la nuit et où j’ai eu le temps de faire une petite balade. De Laerdal, j’ai directement pris un bus pour aller au Geirangerfjord. Au départ, j’avais envisagé faire une excursion sur le glacier mais le temps ne l’a malheureusement pas permis. Ceci dit, la route était magnifique. Pour ce trajet, j’ai pris 2 bus + un ferry et passé la journée dans les transports. Je me suis un peu posée à Geiranger où j’ai pu faire une petite rando (pour ça, mieux vaut te renseigner directement sur place à l’office de tourisme). Ensuite, J’ai repris un bus direction Molde en passant par la route des Trolls. J’ai passé la nuit puis le lendemain matin, j’ai pris un train direction Trondheim puis par la suite les Lofoten.
Pour se déplacer dans les fjords, c’était au jour le jour ! Je me renseignais directement sur place et j’organisais les étapes et les journées en fonction des horaires des bus.
J’avais fait beaucoup de recherches avant de partir mais tout s’est vraiment décidé sur place car les informations sur les bus sont difficiles à avoir. Ce qui m’a aussi bien aidée, c’est d’avoir discuté dans le train avec une norvégienne entre Bergen et Myrdal. C’est un peu grâce à elle que j’ai fait ces étapes.
Par contre, je ne me souviens pas très bien des prix des traversées et puis ça a peut-être changé.
Si vous avez des questions, n’hésitez pas.
Alors mon voyage en Norvège s'est assez bien déroulé..mis à part le temps pluvieux que nous avons eue pendant environ les 3/4 de notre voyage...!
Bon, finalement le trajet que nous avons fait a été Oslo Bergen Stavanger....En train..car nous avions la passe EURAIL...!
Ce que nous ne savions pas, toutefois, était que nous devions réserver nos places à l'avance...pour des frais de 50krs supplémentaires..donc environ 6-7 euros...!
Et assez à l'avance..car souvent, les trains étaient pleins..!!!
Le trajet olso-bergen en vaux vraiment la peine..les paysages sont tout simplement magnifique!!..
Si tu veux ensuite te diriger vers stavanger, je te conseille le ferry..qui est environ 30euros...! autrement, si tu décide de prendre le train, tu devras repasser par Oslo....donc , c'est assez long...!!...
Sinon, il y a plusieurs choix si tu veux te rendre vers le nord à partir de Bergen...Tu peux prendre le ferry aussi et t'arrêter à différents endroits...une fois rendue à Trondheim, tu pourras reprendre le train pour revenir à Oslo..je crois que c'est le meilleur choix..mais pour les prix, je ne sais pas...
De toute façon, rendue à Bergen, tu peux te rendre à l'office de tourisme où tu trouveras toutes les infos nécessaires...et toutes les options qui s'offriront à toi !!...
Quoi qu'il en soit, passe de très belles vacances..!

Je ne suis pas allée à Stavanger donc je ne pourrai malheureusement pas t'aider. J'ai fait Bergen - Trondheim en passant par les fjords dont Geiranger et ensuite je suis allée sur les Lofoten. Comme je te disais, pour aller de Bergen à Trondheim, j'avais mis 5-6 jours. En comptant 4 jours en plus, tu auras le temps de plus en profiter. Ceci dit, si tu as le temps de le faire en train, à mon avis fais-le car il paraît que c'est la plus belle ligne d'Europe.
Au niveau des transports, je n'ai passé qu'une journée entière dans le bus. Le reste du temps, j'ai fait du ferry et quelques randos.
De mémoire, la journée de bus avait coûté aux alentours de 45-50€ et le ferry coûtait entre 15 et 25€ (pour piéton... si tu as la voiture, ça sera plus cher) en fonction de la traversée.
Pour le train, je n'avais pas réservé sauf le trajet Trondheim-Bodo pour avoir une couchette. Le trajet Oslo-Bergen, je l'ai fait en avion (vraiment pas cher avec Norwegian en t'y prenant à l'avance) pour une question de planning et de temps.
Bon alors, pour ce qui est de Stavanger, il y a plusieurs rando assez intéressantes à faire telles que celle qui mène au Preikestolen et celle du Kjeragb0lten ( la grosse roche prise entre deux rochers qu'on peut voir sur presque tous les dépliants..!)
Alors, je crois que ça vaut le détour..! la ville est super belle aussi...assez vieille...! c'est intéressant de se promener dans les petites rues très étroites..anciens villages de pêcheurs!...Aussi, il y a un terrain de camping très bien aménagé auquel on peut se rendre à pied si jamais c'était dans vos plans de partir avec sac à dos..! Ah..! mais si vous préférez vous concentrer sur les fjords, ..peut être que passer par Stavanger sera un peu irréaliste en 10 jours..!
Le train qui se rend à Bergen à partir d'Oslo est plein la plupart du temps...alors il est bon de réserver au moins 2 jours d'avance..surtout en période estivale..quand tous les étudiants sont en congés et qu'ils retournent chez eux!!...les réservations peuvent se faire directement à la station de train..et il y a des départs à presque tous les 4 ou 5 heures...! sauf la nuit où, habituellement, un seul train assure la liaison ..!!
Par contre, je ne me souviens pas très bien des tarifs, puisque j'avais une passe EUrail...je n'avais pas besoin de payer les train à toutes les fois!!....

Nous partons en effet en sac à dos, et on utilisera les "transport en commun".

A l'avance, ou directement sur place? Je préfèrerais réserver sur place au cas l'on souhaite rester un peu plus longtemps à un endroit, mais je ne sais pas si les hotels seront plein, et si l'on devra se rabattre sur ce qu'il y a de plus cher...

Pour les endroits les plus touristiques (Bergen, Flam/Myrdal), mieux vaut réserver, surtout si cela tombe un week-end car tu seras en concurrence avec les Norvégiens. En semaine, en juin, cela ne me parait pas nécessaire. Prends une option qui te laisse la possibilité d'annuler.
Tu as raison de ne pas bifurquer vers Stavanger qui est en cul de sac et est moins intéressante que la région des Fjords. Mieux vaut visite Alesund et/ou Molde.

Je n'y ai passé qu'une nuit mais c'était bien.
Ensuite, la semaine pendant laquelle j'ai remonté les fjords, j'ai fait du camping sauvage sauf un soir où je suis allée dans un "vrai" camping. Je n'ai même pas pensé aller à l'hôtel car je n'avais pas le budget pour. Du coup, c'était facile de planifier au jour le jour! Et puis la deuxième semaine j'étais dans le châlet sur les lofotens.

Il y a le ANKER HOTEL qui est utilisé par de nombreux forumers car il est à un prix raisonnable pour la capitale. J'avais lu des commentaires qui m'avaient un peu refroidie et j'avais sélectionné le Gjestehuset Lovisenberg, facilement accessible par le bus. C'est dans un des bâtiments d'un ensemble religieux luthérien, de beaux bâtiments avec école de puériculture et hôpital dans un grand parc (très calme donc). Pas de souci pour leur écrire en anglais.

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.

I’ve found some great deals on flights to two destinations: Menorca in the Balearic Islands and Alghero in Sardinia.
The flights would take us from Bordeaux to Menorca on the evening of 9/07 and return to Bordeaux in the evening on 13/07.
Or to Alghero very early on 10/07 (departure at 6 AM) and return in the mid-afternoon on 13/07.
We love beautiful landscapes, the sea, snorkeling, walks (hiking), and the charm of villages.
We want to spend some quality time as a couple without our kids and mix discovery with relaxation.
I can’t make up my mind. The transport costs are roughly the same when you factor in parking for Sardinia since the early departure means no public transport from home.
We’ve never been to Menorca, Sardinia, or Italy at all. I’ve been to Majorca, though.
Menorca would be 4 nights and 4 days, while Alghero would be 3 nights and 2.5 days.
Also, what itinerary would you recommend for Alghero and Menorca?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:

Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.
This route means renting a car in Finland and dropping it off in Norway. My initial searches are showing rental rates that are... astronomical—about three times the price compared to returning it at the starting point.

I’m sharing my draft itinerary with you because I just booked our flight tickets, and I feel like it’s quite late in the season. So, I’d like to be sure about my stops before reserving the hotels. I’ll be traveling alone with my two adult children. We want to prioritize outdoor walks, avoid too many indoor visits (both for budget and preference), and not spend too much time on the road.
D1: Arrival at 9 AM in Malaga, day in Malaga and overnight stay
D2: Head straight to Nerja (1-hour drive) and spend the night there
D3: Head straight to Granada (1.5-hour drive), spend the day and night there
D4: Granada. Visit the Alhambra (Nasrid Palaces tour at 5 PM) and spend the night
D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night
D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda
D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there
D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...

My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland in September 2026.
We’ll be flying from Montreal to London, where we’ll spend three nights.
After that, we’ll head to Dublin for a few days and take trains to visit the main attractions.
Our ideal plan would be to choose hotels near train stations and take tours to the interesting spots.
Would 8 days in Ireland be enough for this kind of trip?
