Il y a à peu près deux mois j'avais déjà posté un message sur le forum pour mon voyage au Maroc en Avril 2014, par contre je n'avais pas encore le billet d'avion ni une bonne idée de mon itinéraire.
Départ : 5 Avril
Retour : 25 Avril
Donc oui je pars finalement 3 semaines et non pas juste deux ( je trouvais que c'était pas suffisant).
J'ai le billet déjà acheté ; Montréal - Casablanca pour aller-retour.
J'hésite vraiment entre le nord et le sud :( à chaque fois je suis perdue quand je tente de faire mon itinéraire.... je n'arrive pas à choisir trop de belles villes de choses à faire...
Je voulais avoir votre avis, si vous avez déjà été là ou si vous habitez là.... si vous trouvez cet itinéraire réaliste ou bien je suis complètement insensée :D
Donc voilà :
Arrivée à Casablanca -> Marrakech ( env. 2-3 jours) -> Essaouira (2-3jours aussi ) -> Ouarzazate (env.1 jour ) -> Tinghir et les environs ( gorges de Dades / Todra 2 jours env. ) - > Merzouga désert excursion ( 2-3 jours) -> Errachidia ( ne pas vraiment rester là) -> Fes & Chefchaouen ( 2 - 3 jours) -> Meknes & Volubilis (2 jours) -> Retour à Casa rester env 1 jour
Avez-vous des suggestions à me faire ? Pensez-vous que cet itinéraire est réaliste pour le temps (20 jours) surtout que je compte prendre des bus & taxi pour certains endroits? Si jamais je dois absolument choisir..... vous me recommandez d'enlever quoi? Sachant que je tiens absolument à aller dans le désert, à voir Essaouira & Marrakech et aussi Chefchaouen qui m'intrigue beaucoup, et aussi Tinghir.. ce sont mes incontournables....

Voici donc mon sentiment....
De Casa, je descendrais directement sur Essaouira pour une nuit, c'est très mignon, mais on en fait vite le tour, c'est petit!
Ensuite Marrakech pour 2 ou 3 nuits.
Puis Aït Benhaddou pour une nuit en allant en direction de Ouarzazate.
En repartant, passez à Ouarzazate et continuez jusqu'à Thinéghir , y passez une nuit ou 2, pour voir la palmeraie et les gorges de Todgha.
Regagnez Merzouga avant 17h si on va en bivouac.Une nuit c'est bien, à mon avis.Mais, on peut faire une nuit dans le désert de sable et une autre nuit dans le désert noir, chez les nomades.
Errachidia, pas grand chose à voir
Puis Fes pour 2 nuits.
Chefchaouen pour une nuit ou 2, tout dépendra chaque fois de l'heure à laquelle vous arriverez dans chaque ville pour avoir le temps de voir un peu avant de repartir et ne pas passer toutes ses journées dans les transports.
Enfin Meknes et Volubilis en 2 jours.
Et il doit vous rester 2 ou 3 jours pour éventuellement prolonger une étape ou on se sent bien.
Prenez en compte le fait que les trajets sont longs, voire très longs. Un trajet "bouffe" souvent une journée. Quelques exemples (trajets en bus) :
Casa-Essaouira : 7h
Marrakech-Ouarzazate :4h30
Ouarzazate-Tineghir : 3h
Tineghir-Merzouga : 4h30
Fes-Errachidia : 8h
De fait, rester une seule nuit dans un endroit, ça veut dire passer un bout d'après-midi (voire soirée) et un bout de matinée. on passe son temps au lit et en transports...
Prévoyez de rester 2 nuits pour vraiment profiter du lieu. Du coup, c'est plus juste d'envisager un circuit en fixant où on passe ses nuits, et non ses jours.
Il faut aussi savoir que certains endroits ne sont pas très bien desservis. Par exemple, seul un bus/jour va jusqu'au village de Merzouga (arrivée vers 21h). si vous souhaitez profiter de l'incontournable coucher de soleil, il faut prévoir de rester 2 ou 3 nuits ; ou de venir avec un autre bus jusqu'au Erfoud ou Rissani, puis de compléter avec des taxis collectifs, donc en mode aléatoire en terme de temps (un taxi collectif ne part que quand il est complet, ou du moins quand les 6 places sont payées).
Préférez le bus, pour apprécier les paysages, très beaux et très divers.
Préférez le taxi collectif pour allez vite... (frissons assurés, parfois !). Un tout petit peu plus cher que le bus.
Perso, j'apprécie les transports en commun, ils font partie du voyage et favorisent (à mon sens) la découverte d'un pays et d'une culture, au rythme local !
Circuit :
Je rejoins Soju : pas la peine de vous arrêter à Ouarzazate. Mais il serait dommage de rater AitBenhaddou.
Errachidia : arrêt seulement si un changement de transport en commun vous y oblige.
Tineghir : j'aime beaucoup aussi !
Il vaut mieux se poser en quelques endroits, plutôt que courir d'un lieu à l'autre. A vouloir tout voir, on prend le temps de ne rien vivre...
N1 (nuit 1) casa
N2 et 3 Marrakech
N4 et 5 Ait Benhaddou
N6-7-8 : Tineghir, avec une journée dans les gorges du Todgha (le Dades, c'est bien avant, c'est loin)
N9-10-11 : Merzouga
1e nuit en auberge, journée au village, 2e nuit en bivouac, journée avec visite à Khamlia. Si c'est un jeudi ou un dimanche, un tour au souk de Rissani vaut le coup (miam la pizza de Rissani !)
N12-13-14 : Fes
N15-16 : Chefchaouen
N17-N18 : Casa.
Il reste 2 nuits-un jour (encore que ça dépend de vos horaires d'avion) pour un coup de coeur (pas envie de partir !), un bon tuyau (une fête dans un village), une invitation, ou juste envie d'arrêter de courir après les transports en commun ! jour pour ça, ce n'est pas négligeable !
Vous pouvez aussi remplacer l'arrêt à Tineghir par un arrêt à Kelaa M'Gouna, avec visites des gorges du Dades.
L'ensemble vous permet de voir : grandes villes (Marrakech, Fes, Casa), petites villes (Tineghir ou Kella Mgouna, Chefchaouen), zones désertiques (Ait Benhaddou), montagne (gorges du Dades ou du Todgha).
Je n'ai pas mis Essaouira dans le circuit, parce que cette étape est un gros détour d'une journée, au départ de Casa. Mais peut-être préférez-vous laisser tomber la journée 'coup de coeur' ou une journée à Casa, pour privilégier le détour sur Essaouira ? Il est vrai qu'Essaouira est une jolie petite ville côtière.

20 jours c'est pas mal pour faire le circuit dont tu rêves mais comme il est écrit ci-dessus, on passe beaucoup de temps dans les transports. Il faut compter une moyenne de 50km/h, particulièrement en bus, à toi de faire les calculs...
Une alternative serait de louer une voiture afin de ne pas être tributaire des horaires et d'apprécier la liberté qu'offre cette autonomie.
De Casa j'irais direct sur Marrakech pour y passer 3 ou 4 nuits. De là je ferais une excursion d'une journée à Essaouira. Tu as des bus qui partent tôt le matin et rentrent tard le soir (attention chez Supratours il faut réserver la veille). Cela suffit pour faire le tour de cette petite ville, jolie, certes, mais qui en déçoit plus d'un bénéficiant d'une très belle réputation aujourd'hui un peu galvaudée... Enfin, ce n'est que mon avis... Mais quand les vendeurs de frites et de crêpes ont remplacé les petits restaus traditionnels et que les artisans ont laissé la place aux marchands de souvenirs made in China... Bof... Mais la ville reste belle malgré tout et son port attachant.
Pas d'accord avec mes camarades sur l'idée d'exclure Ouarzazate. La ville en elle même ne casse pas des briques mais tu peux dormir à 30kms, dans la palmeraie de Skoura. Le coin est très beau et tu es à peu près à mi-chemin entre Marrakech et Merzouga.
Quand tu remonteras de Merzouga tu peux t’arrêter et te poser un peu dans la superbe palmeraie de Zouala, 20 kms avant Errachiddia. C'est un endroit que j'affectionne particulièrement car il reste encore préservé de la masse touristique. Il en est de même pour Errachiddia dont le souk est sympa, vivant et typique. Une halte déjeuner n'est pas à exclure.
Fes & Chefchaouen ( 2 - 3 jours)

Malgré les 200 bornes qui séparent ces 2 villes tu as au moins 4h de route !
Tu pourrais grouper Fes/Meknes. Rester au moins 4 nuits à Fès et prendre le bus (30mn) pour aller passer une journée à Meknès ou/et volubilis. Tu perdras moins de temps que de changer d'hôtel...
Puis direction Chaouen et retour sur Casa (4h de route)

Trois semaines d'affilée au Maroc c'est très bien et permet une bonne visite des lieux. De plus, avril est une période intéressante car pas trop chaude et pas trop froide. Journées assez longues malgré tout et encore de belles couleurs à cause de l'inclinaison du soleil (ou de la terre!?) Passer à Aït Benhaddou en fin d'ap.-midi pour les couleurs....
Tu as déjà reçu pas mal de commentaires adaptés.....pour de longs péridples, j'adopte plustot la location de voiture qui permet de s'arrêter quand on veut où on veut ..et changer d'avis si on ne se sent pas pbien quelque part. Et comme il y a des hébergements partout (et à tous les prix) celà permet souvent d'économiser un peu sur les logements en ville (à tous les prix aussi mais il faut chercher plus).
Sinon, je ne resterais pas 4 jours au même endroit.....2-3 jours (1-2 nuits) sont souvent suffisants, pour voir le coucher du soleil sur les dunes p. ex. ou visiter Marrakech !
Fès peut prendre un peu plus de temps pour bien visiter....mais le mieux est d'acheter un bon guide avant et étudier tout ce qu'il y a à voir.....ou que tu veux voir....et préparer des visites le plus possible à l'avance.
Après il y a des choses + ou - intéressantes....comme le jardin Majorelle de Marrakech ou le bassin de la Menara - loin et moyen comme intérêt- sur les photos on voit déjà presque tout !) que j'ai vus une fois, mais ne me semblent pas incontournables si on a peu de temps...contrairement à la merdersa Ben Youssef...bijou d'architecture et d'histoire....ce qui permet de laisser tomber la Médersa de Fès....p. ex. mais tout est question de goût et de point de vue.
A Marrakech le bus touristique (à deux étages) est pratique car on peut descendre et monter quand- et où on veut. Acheter le billet vers midi p. ex. et on peut l'utiliser encore jusqu'au lendemain midi.

Then, when I mentioned I wanted to stay for two or three weeks—maybe even a month—explaining that my trip wouldn’t be strictly touristy but more of a pilgrimage to the places of my childhood, and that it would likely be a very emotional journey, I expected a positive and warm reaction to my approach. Instead, I suddenly stopped getting replies from the three or four people I’d contacted. So now I’m wondering about the reception former Pieds-Noirs can expect...

I’d like to do a route that’s a bit different from my first stay, which was more focused on cities and culture (Tunis, Sousse, Kairouan, El Jem).
I’ll be getting around by public transport.
I’d like to head south toward Tozeur, and I saw that you can take a *louage* from Monastir to Sbeitla (2h30). I imagine it’s not too complicated to get to Tozeur from there afterward? The issue is the return trip to Monastir and safety in Sbeitla.
If this route seems too complicated, I might opt for Djerba instead, which looks simpler.

Day 9-10: Rabat (I’ve heard mixed things... some good, some bad)
After that, I have the choice of heading back to Tangier for my return flight... or going down to Agadir (also a possible return flight) and extending my trip by 5 days :)
From what I can tell, everything is well connected by bus (CTM) or train (ONCF).
Another question: Is the vibe in Moroccan youth hostels for meeting people the same as what you’d find in Western Europe?

(though there are fraudulent sites out there). On the official site, they ask for legitimate info
(name, nationality, etc.). What made me go "hmm" was the request for both an email address

I aimed for an excursion to the Chigaga desert from M’Hamid because it seems less touristy and allows for a more compact loop. Is that a good idea? Is the drive to M’Hamid maybe too tedious?

A lot of people find it important to stick to their budget when traveling—not to skimp, but to visit as many places as possible since traveling is their hobby.
In this post, I want to share some tips for those coming to Morocco who want their trip to be budget-friendly.
1. Prebook everything: hotels or riads, car rentals, or tours. If you book these in advance, it’ll make your life easier. You won’t have to deal with hagglers or people trying to overcharge you for services that are available online for free. Use platforms like Booking, Expedia, carsrental.ma, Airbnb, and other booking services to get this done properly.
2. Exchange your money to Moroccan dirhams as soon as you land. 1 € is always a little over 10 dirhams, but many people get charged as if it were exactly 10 dirhams per euro.
3. When visiting an old site or the old medina, avoid talking to vendors and shop owners—they’re really good at getting your attention and making you overpay for things.
4. Ask your tour guide to buy things for you. Yes, they do get a commission, but you’ll probably pay way more if you buy something yourself that they can get cheaply.
5. Walk everywhere. You don’t need a taxi for every little trip. Pick a good location and walk—most Moroccan cities are safe during normal hours.
6. Buy your food, drinks, etc., from supermarkets at normal prices. They can’t overcharge you since they scan every product.

I’m planning my next trip outside Europe for next year, but unfortunately, I don’t have a choice with the dates—it’s late June to early July. Last year, I went to Japan for three weeks, and it was constantly 36-37°C with over 90% humidity. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t impossible either.
For Egypt, I know it’s a period to avoid if possible, but I’m thinking that by the sea, it might be manageable. Otherwise, I’ll consider another destination.
Day 1: Arrival in Hurghada in the evening
Day 2, 3, 4: Hurghada
Day 5: Hurghada, then drive to Luxor in the early afternoon
Day 6: Luxor
Day 7: Luxor, then drive back to Hurghada in the late afternoon

For the Hurghada trip, either rent a car or—easier—a private car/van.
Is it worth adding an extra day in Luxor?

We’re planning a trip to Morocco in September-October in our Fiat camper van, which isn’t a 4x4 but has already handled quite a bit of rough travel. While reading up on southern Morocco, we’ve been drawn to the Aguinane oasis but I’m having trouble locating it on the map. Is it possible to get there without a 4x4?
