Voila, je vous sollicite car avec des amis nous avons reservé une villa a Javea (Costa Blanca) en Espagne. J'aimerais savoir si notre choix est bon, si c'est une belle ville, avec de belles plages, si il fait chaud etc ... Sachant que nos activités visées se nomment bronzette et baignade! Nous souhaiterions egalement connaitre les bons coins/plans (restos, sorties etc...). Bref un retour d'experience en somme.
J'ai egalement 2 questions un petit peu plus technique. J'aimerais savoir dans un 1er temps si il existe des boucheries/epiceries qui vendent de la viande hallal. J'aimerais egalement connaitre le temps de trajet et le budget necessaire pour un aller-retour en voiture depuis Paris.

Pour répondre à tes questions, Javéa est très jolie mais personnelllement j'ai préfére Dénia où j'ai passé d'excéllentes vacances en été 2005. Dénia se trouve juste au dessus de Javéa à environ 8km si je me rapelle bien. Plein de restos sympas.
En ce qui concerne le budget cela dépend de la voiture que tu as et de sa cosommation.
Pour ma part j'ai une clio diesel qui consomme à peine 5L/100km il me faut environ 210€ car en ce moment le gazoil est à 1, 40€ le litre pour faire 3000km (distance A/R Paris/javéa) sans compter les km faits pour se balader. Il faut compter environ 190€ de péage A/R car tu feras pratiquement tout ton parcours sur autoroutes.

Je reviens donc de Javea, c'etait super (bien que revenu avec une otite mdr) ! Comme il n'y a pas beaucoup de renseignements sur cette endroit magnifique, je vais brievement vous donner quelques infos.
Pour ce qui est du trajet aller, nous en avons eu pour un petit peu moins cher que prevu. Au depart de Paris, avec une Opel Corsa diesel, nous en avons eu pour environ 120€ d'essence et 70€ de peage. Avec 90% d'autoroute, sauf a Andorre, que nous souhaitions contempler (magnifique au passage). Par contre si comme moi vous voulez donner un coup d'oeil par la bas, prennez vos precautions niveau essence, on a faillit tomber en panne, tournant pdt pres d'1h pour trouver une station essence.
Le trajet retour, 100€ d'essence environ (prevoyez de faire un plein avant de rentrer en France, mais pas juste a la frontiere, les stations sont BLINDEES). Effectivement l'essence est beaucoup moins cher, 1.26€/l pour du diesel, et le sans plomb est encore moins cher !! (1, 21/l si mes souvenirs sont bons). Pour le peage, le meme montant, naturellement.
Donc si on fait le calcul, a 4, on en a eu pour 90€ chacun grosso modo. Ah oui j'oubliais, 17h de route pour notre part, avec pauses regulieres. Faites attention aux bouchons, ca peut vite devenir l'enfer.
Maintenant passons au sejour en lui meme. Nous avons (pachas oblige ^^); loué une villa dans le quartier privé de "Montgo". Le cout ? 1300€ la semaine, 325€ chacuns. L'emplacement de la villa est sensationnelle. Vous montez sur environ 1-2 km dans la montagne et la ... stupeur !! En arrivant devant la piscine privée, une vue ... phenomenale. Il n'y a pas de superlatif assez fort pour decrire cela. Vous rentrez dans le piscine, vous regardez devant vous, et la vous voyez toute la region sur une centaine de kilometres. Une vue ... c'est indescriptible. Vous tournez la tete de l'autre coté, et la, une falaise sublime a quoi, une petite centaine de metre. Bref, un coin fabuleux. La villa etait propre, quelques palmiers, une douche exterieure (prendre sa douche en regardant la vallée c'est ... pfouuu), une tres grande terrasse ... Le bonheur !!
La ville ... Une grande plage a 6-7 km (el arenal), avec une petite vingtaine de restos, lounge, bars en bordure. Super le soir en somme. Effectivement il y a pas mal de vendeurs ambulants avec des stands. Pour resumer, tatouages, bijoux avc gravure de votre choix, tissus, caricatures etc etc ... Tout est tres bon marché. Perso j'ai fait une caricature superbe pour 15€. Le mec est vraiment tres fort, assez impressionant meme. Il vous la fais dans le decor de votre choix, avec un style de votre choix. Moi il m'a fais en footballeur avec un cocktail a la main. Pour les bijoux gravés, comptez entre 8 et 20€. Pour ce qui est de la plage, tres propre, l'eau tres bonne, quelques poiscailles mdr, ZERO meduses de vues. Comme autre plage, efin c'est plutot une crique, Granadella, c'est tres beau, mais je n'y suis allé qu'une fois, j'pourrais pas vous faire un rapport super detaillé.
A savoir, beaucoup de supermarchés dans le centre (Dia, Lidl, Supermercado etc ...), un marché, un mcdo. Il ya aussi une belle et longue allée avec des cyber-cafés, des tabacs, des petits bars moins touristiques, les journaux francais du jour etc ... A ajouter, il faisait tres beau, tres chaud, attention aux coups de soleils. Niveau touristes, beaucoup d'Allemands, pas mal de Francais, et pas mal d'Espagnols venant d'autres regions. Denia a 10km, Benidorm a 40km et Valence a 100km pour l'info.
Je pense avoir fait un bon topo, j'espere avoir eclairé certaines lanternes. Si vous allez la bas ou qu'un voyage dans ce coin vous interesse, je peux repondre a vos questions de par ma PETITE experience la bas.

Nous allons avec ma copine à Javea la première semaine de septembre. Peux tu nous dire si il y a un marché (fruits et légumes, fringues...) et si oui quand et où (Javea, Denia...). Peux tu nous renseigner sur les resto et boite de nuit, bar peux tu nous dire les tarifs pratiquer (prix d'une entrée en boite par exemple et d'un resto...) et si tu connais des bonnes adresses.
Ton message me fait plaisir car effectivement on ne trouve pas beaucoup d'info sur la toile concernant Javea, et j'avais quasi aucune indication avant de partir. D'ou ce compte rendu. J'espere avoir été objectif car je ne suis pas un grand voyageur, je debute on va dire ^^, et je ne peux donc pas comparer en terme de qualité par rapport a d'autres destinations.
Pour repondre a ta premiere question, oui je crois avoir apercu le marché a Javea, le seul jour ou je suis sorti avant midi ^^. Apres je ne l'ai pas frequenté mais j'en ai entendu du bien. Il se situe pas tres loind du "centre", la ou tu verras le mcdo, lidl ou le supermarché Dia. A Javea de toute maniere, t'es obligé de le voir ca. En fait si tu viens la plage, et bien tu passes ces supermarché en remontant et il doit etre entre 500m et 1km ENVIRON. Quand ? je crois que c'est 4 ou 5 fois par semaine. Le matin bien entendu.
Pour les boites de nuits, n'etant pas le but de mon voyage je n'y suis pas allé. Maintenant je sais qu'il y en a une ou deux dans la ville et qu'ils peuvent te l'(les)indiquer a l'office du tourisme. Sinon sur la "digue" tu as 3-4 bar-lounge interessants, dont 2 tres "designs" que je frequentait et dont j'ai perdu les noms. Pour les prix des boissons et glaces dans ceux-ci, c'est a peu pres les meme qu'en France. Par contre pour en revenir a la "digue", t'a pas mal de restos en tout genre et la les prix sont assez moderés pour un endroit touristique. Je sais que j'ai consommé beaucoup de pizza, qu'elle me coutait environ 7-8€, et que j'avais plus faim pdt un moment. Pour les boites, tu as Benidorm a 35-40km, et la t'en a une grosse quinzaine et si j'ai bien saisi ca coute 3 fois rien l'entrée.
Si tu veux faire la "foire", Benidorm est plus approprié. Javea c'est festif aussi, mais il y a pas mal de familles. Et 90% des jeunes a la periode ou j'etais avaient entre 15 et 18 ans. J'ai bien dis a la periode ou j'y etais et la majorité, pas tous. Apres je ne me suis pas attardé sur ca non plus.

Lol c'est bizarre je suis parti avec 3 potes qui mangaient hallal aussi. Bon il y avait 1 boucherie hallal mais je ne me souviens pas ou, c'est pres de l'office de tourisme je crois!! Dans un rayon d'une centaine de metres pas plus. C'etait dans une rue adjacente.. Nous sommes restés une semaine donc on a pas vraiment cherché... Mais c'est sur il y en avait une a cet endroit.

Personnelement j'etais dans un coin ou il y avait beaucoup de villas et l'ambiance était vraiment très calme. Hormis dans une villa un peu plus bas ou il y avait de l'ambiance, mais j'en étais assez loin donc je ne sais aps si ils ont eu des soucis ou pas. Après Javea, niveau hebergement c'est assez vaste donc il y a peut être des coins ou c'est plus animé. Par contre la ville j'ai trouvé ça plus "familliale" que "festif".
Si tu souhaite faire la fete avec tes potes, aller en boite etc... Tu as Benidorm qui est mondialement connu pour ça à environ 30 minutes.
Voilà quelques jours déjà que je cherche des informations sur cette région de la costa blanca, et ce sans véritables succès.
Je pars samedi prochain pour une durée de 15 jours en famille à calpe, dans une villa avec piscine.

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.
I’m also guessing that paying to access Wengen or Mürren only makes sense if we’re staying there for a few days, right?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.
This route means renting a car in Finland and dropping it off in Norway. My initial searches are showing rental rates that are... astronomical—about three times the price compared to returning it at the starting point.

I’m sharing my draft itinerary with you because I just booked our flight tickets, and I feel like it’s quite late in the season. So, I’d like to be sure about my stops before reserving the hotels. I’ll be traveling alone with my two adult children. We want to prioritize outdoor walks, avoid too many indoor visits (both for budget and preference), and not spend too much time on the road.
D1: Arrival at 9 AM in Malaga, day in Malaga and overnight stay
D2: Head straight to Nerja (1-hour drive) and spend the night there
D3: Head straight to Granada (1.5-hour drive), spend the day and night there
D4: Granada. Visit the Alhambra (Nasrid Palaces tour at 5 PM) and spend the night
D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night
D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda
D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there
D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...

My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland in September 2026.
We’ll be flying from Montreal to London, where we’ll spend three nights.
After that, we’ll head to Dublin for a few days and take trains to visit the main attractions.
Our ideal plan would be to choose hotels near train stations and take tours to the interesting spots.
Would 8 days in Ireland be enough for this kind of trip?
