Si ce n'était que Saint-Pétersbourg, ça ne serait vraiment rien et en GROSSE QUANTITE!!!

Il y a effectivement beaucoup de moustiques en Russie, beaucoup plus dans les campagnes que dans les villes. Mais il y aussi des répulsifs efficaces que l'on trouve facilement dans le commerce.
Un peu hors sujet, la blague d'un russe me mettant en garde contre la taille des moustiques sibériens capables de casser les vitres d'un voiture ! 😏
Je ne sais pas si c'est dû à la saison, mais 3 semaines en septembre, deux à Piter et une à Moscou, aucun moustique. Une amie m'avait mise en garde, mais rien du tout. Peut-être est-ce différent en plein été.
Même dans les parcs, rien. Pourtant dès qu'un moustique est là c'est pour ma pomme !

Je ne sais pas les espèces.
Mais c'est général en Russie Centrale et du Nord, comme en Scandinavie, ou encore au Canada. C'est dû évidemment au dégel d'avril/mai qui libère des masses colossales d'eau dans les sols et décuple l'éclosion des moustiques.
A Saint-Petersbourg c'est variable selon les quartiers. Jeudi et vendredi dernier j'étais hébergé dans un appartement sur l'avenue Ligovski juste après la gallerie commerciale en-dessous de la gare de Moscou, ce qui n'est pas un coin sur un canal ou près d'étangs, mais j'ai eu droit à mon lot de piqûres la première nuit. La deuxième je me suis arrosé de répulsif.. Les anti-moustiques électriques sont courant dans les appartements et hôtels, penser à les brancher dans les prises, et vérifier que la dose de produit ou la plaquette sont bons
La saison c'est de maintenant à mi-aout.
Plus on va dans le nord et plus il y a de moustiques et autres petits insectes.

si tu n'as pas de problèmes de peau, asperges-toi avec un des anti-insectes les plus puissants qui soit. Il y énormément de pipeau commercial dans cette niche para-pharmaceutique. Pour sûr, les sprays au DEET à très haute teneur fonctionnent assez bien. Genre OFF niveau 9 de Johnson. La concentration de DEET la plus poussée qui existe. Acheter sur place ou, si c'est sur le chemin, en Finlande. Certains pays interdisent la vente de très hautes concentration de DEET.
Question insectes, les moustiques urbains ça va encore, par contre pour les promenades en forêt (sauf taïgas sub-arctiques), penser aux tiques, qui posent de sérieux problèmes si la piqûre n'est pas détectée.

effectivement, les moustiques envahissent la ville en été. Je ne sais pas de quelle espèce il s'agit exactement, mais ce sont de petits moustiques très rapides. C'est peut être une impression, mais ils me paraissent plus agiles que les moustiques que j'ai vus à Paris. Esantirulo propose une solution très détaillée, à laquelle je n'ai rien à ajouter, si ce n'est confirmer qu'à l'intérieur, nous sommes effectivement très nombreux à utiliser des répulsifs électriques qui fonctionnent avec des plaquettes. Si vous ne voulez prendre aucun risque, il faut changer les plaquettes une fois par jour.

On en trouve facilement dans les para-pharmacie.

Ils ne me font qu'un petit bouton.
En revanche, le moustique méditerranéen beaucoup plus petit me fait des inflammation, des boursoufflures de 10 cm de diamètre très douloureuses qui virent au noir et ils faut une pommade antibiotique à la cortisone pour en venir à bout. En fait, pour être exact, ce que j'appelle le moustique méditerranéen n'en n'est pas vraiment un d'un point de vue entomologiste. C'est ce qu'on appelle des simulies. Mais elles ont un effet dévastateur chez moi.
J'ai entendu qu'il y en aurait des nuées en Sibérie .....mais fin mai à Saint-Petersbourg, je n'en ai pas vu un seul, ni dans les petites villes où je suis allée ....j'ai peut-être eu de la chance , mais je ne me ferait pas trop de soucis .
Si tu crains les piqûres , le mieux c'est le répulsif . Je te conseille un répulsif qui chasse aussi les tiques ( il n'y en a pas que dans les forêts , aussi dans les parcs et dans les campagnes )

les 17 et 18 mai j'étais à Saint-Pétersbourg. J'en ai profité pour m'acheter des objectifs photo soviétiques pour mes caméras "Salut" et "Kiev-6s", via Avito (avito.ru). Entre autres, dans un magasin de seconde main rue Krylenko, métro Dybenko, je trouvais un Mir-26 parfait à 3000 roubles, dont voici la quittance indiquant la date et l'adresse:
ce jour là, j'ai été piqué par mes premiers moustiques de l'année et j'ai branché l'anti-moustiques dans la chambre où je logeais, à 500 mètres de la gare de Moscou. (je n'ai pas d'allergie et les piqûres me laissent indifférent, mais comme mon type de transpiration attire les moustiques, sans répulsif je suis couvert de morsures, ce qui n'est pas esthétique, le temps que ça cicatrise).

Si tu crains les piqûres , le mieux c'est le répulsif .
avec la violence de réaction allergique qu'elle décrit, il FAUT absolument qu'elle consulte un spécialiste et s'imbibe de répulsif, or parmi les répulsifs il y a beaucoup de bluff marketing.

Je suis aussi allergique aux piqures donc ca devait etre un veritable enfer pour moi MAIS dans les pharmacies (аптека), il y a multitude de cremes et de spray pour se proteger qui sont efficaces. Il faut suivre les temps d applications et recouvrir chaque espace de peau et meme en Siberie on peut y survivre
Sinon, toujours se couvrir avec des vetements clairs, les moustiques sont attires par la chaleur. Le noir est donc a proscrire. Ca parait rien comme ca, mais face aux nuees ca change beaucoup

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.

Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
