Recherchons des bénévoles pour à partir de Avril 2009 Notre association GAYATRI loi 1901 (depuis 2004) indépendante politiquement et confessionnellement basée en Dordogne intervient dans le nord de l’Inde dans la ville de Derha Dun, dans un grand bidonville. Nous accompagnons les populations de ce bidonville (8000 hab.)dans leurs démarche de projets, mais ne nous substituons pas à eux, les demandes venant d’eux l’éducation de leurs enfants étant leur priorité, nous avons ouvert depuis le début de l’année une école où viennent tous les jours 28 enfants. Ces enfants ne connaissant que la misère la plus absolue n’étaient pas sociabilisés. Aujourd’hui, ils étudient, sont nourris et soignés si besoin est. Notre but est d’amener ces enfants jusqu'à leur entrée dans la vie active, de les épauler jusqu’au bout, en envisageant pour eux de bonnes études ou une bonne formation. Nous fonctionnons grâce à un système de parrainage. Nous avons 2 enseignantes Indiennes, une éducatrice spécialisée bénévole qui nous aide durant ses congés et un responsable de projet bénévole indien qui est travailleur social et travaille dans les bidonvilles depuis 12 ans. Toute notre équipe est elle-même issue des bidonvilles et connaît bien ces populations. Il y a beaucoup de problèmes liés à la misère, santé, malnutrition, non-sociabilisation, analphabétisation .Certains enfants sont confrontés aux problèmes de drogue, de prostitution et du travail des enfants. Nos missions de bénévolat concernent en priorité les enfants de l’école :Apprentissage de l’anglais, notions de français, activités ludiques, artistiques, sportives, culturelles, extra scolaires, santé, hygiène.
Suivant les compétences de chacun des bénévoles il peut aussi y avoir des interventions auprès du public adulte dans des domaines variés, alphabétisation, santé, hygiène, formation environnement, social, culturel, le tout basé sur une volonté d'échanges et valorisation des savoirs et compétences de chacun. Des microprojets seront dans l’avenir mis en place l'objectif étant que ces populations puisent se débrouiller seuls ensuite et s’autogérer.La durée des missions est établie en fonction des disponibilités des bénévoles et la mission elle-même, est étudiée en fonction des compétences de chacun.Bénévolat signifie que les frais du billet d’avionde d’hébergement et de nourriture sur place sont à la charge du bénévole. Sur place, les bénévoles sont aidés dans leur mission par notre équipe indienne. S’ils le désirent, ils sont aidés également pour toutes les démarches en dehors de leur mission. Il y a de nombreux guest houses (hôtels) à Derhadun ou la possibilité suivant disponibilité de louer « la maison de passage ». Les bénévoles sont au plus près de la population, en immersion totale dans la vie et la culture indienne, avec peu ou pas de contacts avec des Européens, mais ne seront jamais laissés dans l’embarras. La région est très agréable, dans les premiers contreforts de l’Himalaya.

My name is Valerie and I live in France. I’m a street artist—I perform street shows that blend circus and clowning. I also work as a clown in hospitals and retirement homes in France.
I’m planning to spend two months in Morocco from January 19, 2027, to March 13, 2027. I’ll be traveling in a truck, so I’ll be mobile.
I’d love to offer my time as a volunteer to perform a show that’s suitable for all audiences (kids and adults) in village squares. I’d also like to visit hospitals and orphanages as a clown.
My route will start in Nador, then head down to Merzouga, before making my way to the coast either above or below Agadir. Toward the end of my trip, I’ll return to Zagora and Merzouga before leaving from either Nador or Tangier.
I already have contacts in Merzouga and Zagora. Next, I’d like to head toward the coast above or below Agadir, and I’m looking for contacts (associations, orphanages, hospitals) in that area or along my route.

I’m a volunteer leader at a youth center (MJC), and we’ve been deeply moved by everything happening in Madagascar—extreme poverty, endangered animals, deforestation, and so on. Plus, one of our teens has a Malagasy friend, so our group wants to travel there next year.
Throughout this year, they’ve planned fundraisers to collect donations (sheets, dish towels, schoolbooks, hygiene products, etc.) and funds to cover their trip and stay.
They’re really motivated and generous—they already volunteer in schools and senior centers, and they’re always welcomed warmly.
But so far, they haven’t found any organizations in Madagascar willing to host them for two weeks (orphanages, schools, animal protection parks, etc.).
Does anyone know of any contacts, please?

We currently have 2 wheelchairs that we would like to give to our partner, the Benin Handisport Federation. If you're traveling to Benin, alone or with someone, we could give you one of these 2 wheelchairs (or both). Out of the 40 kg of luggage you're allowed, a wheelchair will only take up less than half. Our partner can pick it up at Cotonou Airport...

Hello, we’d like to travel as a family to Madagascar (2 parents, 2 kids aged 10 and 12). A first trip over 15 years ago completely amazed and moved me with its beauty, kindness, and life experiences—but also its poverty and hardship. That’s why I think it’s possible to introduce our kids to this island while also doing something useful through volunteering. The window is short—15 days in March 2020—which means avoiding the north and east of the island due to cyclones and focusing on the south instead. Some ecovolunteering projects exist online, but the cost is sometimes prohibitive, and kids are rarely accepted. Do you have any ideas or contacts? Thanks in advance!
