Est-ce que l’un d’entre vous a déjà effectué cette analyse dans un laboratoire agréé par l’uni Européenne (pour un chien ou un chat, peu importe) ?

🙂 Je ne comprends pas bien votre question. Le test antirabique prouve que votre animal chien ou chat a été vacciné contre la rage et qu'il a développé suffisamment d'anticorps pour résister a une éventuelle contamination je vois mal en quoi il pourrait exister un agrément européen d'une mesure scientifique si cette mesure a été réalisée par un laboratoire agréé qu'il soit français espagnol ou autre !
Par exemple, sur le passeport de notre chien sont notées les dates de vaccination antirabique ( tous les ans ) et le résultat de l'analyse antirabique : une fois pour toutes car si l'animal a développé suffisamment d'anticorps à la suite de la première vaccination, les injections suivantes à la date voulue relancent le processus.
Nous voyageons avec notre chien en Europe et hors Europe ( Maroc notamment ) et n'avons jamais été confronté à un problème d'agrément ni du test ni de la marque des vaccins.

J’ai oublié de préciser que je me trouve actuellement au Brésil 😉
Effectivement le titrage antirabique est là pour prouver en gros que le vaccin a bien fonctionné, et il reste valable si la vaccination reste à jour - dans mon cas, c’est un petit chat tout jeunot, il n’a donc été vacciné qu’une seule fois, d’où la nécessité du test.
Cependant, devant votre réponse, je m’interroge: est-ce que n’importe quel labo européen peut réaliser ce test ? Il me semblait que non (sinon pourquoi faire une liste des laboratoires agréés ?) : https://ec.europa.eu/food/animals/pet-movement/approved-labs_en
Pour notre précédent chien, nous avions fait faire le prélèvement sanguin par un vétérinaire à Agadir, qui avait envoyé l'échantillon sanguin en France à Toulouse je crois. Mais le coût du transport de l'échantillon sanguin ( urgent et réfrigéré ) avait été cher il me semble me souvenir de 100 euros.
Ce qui m'étonne un peu c'est qu'il n'y ait pas au Brésil de labo capable de faire l'analyse car il me semble qui si le taux d'anticorps anti rabique est correct c'est bon. Pour ce qui est du Maroc, il n'y a pas de laboratoire vétérinaire au Maroc disposant du matériel pour faire le titrage donc chaque fois les échantillons sont envoyés en France..... les chiens et chats errants + le coût excessif de l'analyse sont sans doute la raison pour laquelle il y a un problème récurent de rage au Maroc.

C’est super bizarre, il y a 3 labos “agrées” au brésil, mais apparemment, ils envoient les prises de sang... au Texas !?! Ça me parait étrange car le labo que j’ai contacté (et qui m’a mise en relation avec les vétérinaires de la ville où je suis avec lesquels ils travaillent) ne m’a jamais parlé de ça...
Et les vétérinaires demandent à peu près 350€ pour l’ensemble du processus, et un délai de 3 mois, c’est de la folie ! 😕
J’en ai trouvé un qui prétend pouvoir me le faire pour moins cher et plus rapidement, mais je ne suis pas sûre qu’il s’agisse de la bonne procédure (il était un peu speed et je ne suis pas certaine qu’il ait bien saisi la nécessité de passer par un laboratoire agréé)...
Est-ce que par hasard vous auriez la possibilité de me montrer à quoi ressemble le titrage antirabique afin que je le montre au veto ici ? (Desolee, je vous harcèle... 🙂 )
Impossible d'envoyer un scan en MP or, il y a les coordonnées de notre chien et je ne voudrais pas qu'en envoyant ce document publiquement il soit détourné et serve frauduleusement à n'importe qui.

Si j'ai bien compris, il y a 2 vérifications :
- vérifier que la vaccination est faite dans le respect des exigences sanitaires (les démarches prend un mois)
- vérifier que l'effet de la vaccination est positive (3 mois nécessaires).
Ce délai n'est pas administratif ni logistique, mais biologique.
Ce qui est bizarre, c’est que d’autres ont pu avoir leurs résultats en moins d’un mois... La vaccination est effective après 21 jours, d’où le délai de 21 jours pour effectuer le prélèvement, que je comprends parfaitement.
Le délai de 3 mois avant le départ, ok aussi, pourquoi pas.
Mais le délai de 3 mois entre le prélèvement et les résultats en revanche n’a aucun sens : d’autres ont eu les leurs en moins d’un mois, voir en une semaine ! C’est là que je bloque niveau compréhension...

J'ai cru comprendre que c'est le même délai. L'exigence de faire ce titrage 3 mois avant de partir, c'est justement pour respecter le délai "biologique" nécessaire pour obtenir le résultat.
Je n'ai jamais entendu dire que parfois, ce délai "biologique" de 3 mois n'est pas attendu.
Peut-être est-ce dans le cas d'une vérification de la réelle mise à jour d'un carnet de santé ? ou autre ?
Mais peut-être ai-je mal saisi le comment du pourquoi !
Pour notre chien précédant nous avons fait effectuer le titrage au Maroc. Nous avons reçu les résultats dans un délais acceptable par e.mail ( je ne me souviens plus combien de jours exactement ) et nous sommes rentrés en France, via l'Espagne sans problème et bien sur sans attendre trois mois !

Non, ce ne sont pas les vétos qui décrètent le délai des 3 mois ; c'est l'une des "formalités sanitaires requises" inscrites les textes législatifs français (voir douanes.gouv.fr).

Si tu trouves un labo qui te dit "oui oui, dans 1 mois, ce sera fait !", et que ça prend 2 mois, ou plus (ce qui est tout-à-fait légal et possible), c'est le bazar pour ton retour en France...

On voit mal pourquoi un labo garderait un échantillon sanguin au frais ( mais je suppose pas que ) pendant 3 mois avant de le mettre dans un analyseur automatique qui fait le job en 3 minutes.
Par ailleurs je ne sais pas quelle est ton expérience ni même si tu en as une mais pour notre chien précédant le résultat de l'analyse n'a pas mis trois mois pour nous parvenir par e.mail au Maroc. Et pour notre chien actuel, nous avons fait faire le titrage en 2017 et nous avons reçu le résultat en très peu de jours., à la suite de quoi , ous sommes partis et revenus du Maroc sans le moindre problème.

Quand on devait quitter Sénégal avec notre chien qu'on avait emmené avec nous, on avait appris qu'il fallait ce titrage antirabique pour le retour en France... On était aussi un peu short dans le timing...comme il n'y a pas de labo à Dakar faisant le titrage antirabique, il fallait donc le faire expédier dans un labo en France...le véto l'avait donc expédié à un labo en France en courrier DHL en leur notifiant la date de voyage du chien pour donc un retour rapide du titrage , et on avait reçu le résultat en moins de 10 jours, ouf, juste à temps pour le départ . Un coût supplémentaire mais c'était la seule solution la plus rapide qu'il restait.
Au départ (Air France) , les papiers du chien furent contrôlés, mais à l'arrivée à Paris aucun contrôle par contre.

Plusieurs retours m’indiquent que les contrôles se font à l’aéroport de départ, mais question technique (que je me prépare psychologiquement et que je prévienne éventuellement mes parents qui doivent venir me chercher à l’aéroport s’ils peuvent prendre leur temps) : à l’arrivée, j’imagine qu’on doit tout de même déclarer qu’on importe une bestiole non ?
Si oui, ça prend du temps ?

Pour ma part, il arrive parfois mais c'est rare que lorsque nous rentrons en Espagne venant du Maroc on nous demande les papiers du chien ( passeport fourni en France par le vétérinaire ou l'éleveur ) et le fameux certificat dont je t'ai envoyé un scan. C'est tout en deux minutes c'est fait.
Mais nous nous voyageons en Camping car. J'imagine qu'on ne doit pas pouvoir embarquer dans un avion si on n'est pas en règle.
Par contre, il faut vraiment être en règle car en cas de contrôle si on ne l'est pas, il mettent l'animal en quarantaine et j'imagine d'ici les conditions !

Oui, par voie terrestre c’est plus simple ! On voyage en van aménagé et on a trouvé le poilu au Chili, la seule fois où on nous a demandé des trucs, c’était pour quitter ce pays (mais il faut dire que les chiliens sont des maniques de l’agro sanitaire). Pérou, Bolivie, Brésil, il a tout fait sans souci !
En revanche, pour l’avion, je crois qu’il y a de gros, gros contrôles, et effectivement, la quarantaine, hors de question ! En plus du fait que ça doit être horrible pour eux et très cher pour nous, mon chat a refusé de s’alimenter pendant toute la durée de mon absence LA fois où je l’ai « abandonné » même pas 48h chez des connaissances... Je n’ose même pas imaginer s’il passe une semaine ou plus en quarantaine !
🙂 Oui les chiliens sont un peu "ticous" comme on dit dans le midi ! Fruits et légumes même pas la peine d'imaginer et une fois ils nous ont fait jeter du miel !
🙂 A Salta, nous avons rencontré des jeunes qui avaient un chat "de garde" dans leur van . Hors du camping car ce chat était adorable et très sociable mais dans sa maison il était terrible si ses maîtres n'étaient pas à proximité ! prêt à sauter au nez de tout intrus. Beaucoup plus dissuasif qu'un chien je trouve 🙂

I’m a teacher in Creuse, working in a ULIS program (which welcomes children aged 6 to 12 with disabilities into a mainstream school). This year, I’m starting a school journal project that will involve the kids in many different topics. A big part of the journal will focus on opening up to the world, diversity, travel, countries, culture...
I’m launching a call to invite as many of you as possible to send us a little postcard (from France or anywhere in the world!) to take us on a journey and help us discover new places, countries, and horizons—much more fun and exciting than a regular geography textbook! One section of our journal could be called "We received mail from " and would be an opportunity to research that location and share what we learn with our readers (a super enriching activity in class).
The project starts in September 2025 but has no real end date, as this journal and world discovery initiative will span several school years (the kids stay in my ULIS program for multiple years). Postcards can be sent anytime—throughout the year, across seasons, even during holidays! (The kids will find them when they return.)
I hope this idea appeals to as many of you as possible and that you’ll spread the word to your fellow traveler friends. Make us dream, take us on a journey!!!

I just discovered a great show on Arte.
It's called "7 en route": seven young European journalists travel around Europe in a fully converted bus, making reports on every city they visit. It's amazing! 🙂
Yesterday, for example, they were in Rome, Italy, and the reports included things like the world's smallest restaurant—a super romantic spot for two. There was also a report on the king of paparazzi in Italy.
They have to pick topics that let us discover the little quirks of each country. And at the end of each episode, we get to see the finished report.
It's such a great show, mixing journalism, travel, and discovery—basically, a must-watch!

After a quarter without dragging my slippers around here, even though I’d loudly declared I had no interest left in this site, here I am again!
My imagination never stays fallow for long. Just enough time for my inner land to rest. It gets overgrown with fresh nettles, the kind you can pick without getting stung. Then, it’s time to till the fragrant earth and let the story grow.
I hesitated over where to set this story.
Maybe the Highlands, maybe the Hebrides, maybe the Orkney Islands, maybe the Shetland Islands. All of Scotland is myth—easy to embroider.
But in the end, no. I’d almost be too afraid to bare my soul.
The story will take place at home. Simple, practical.

This morning, I was up well before dawn, feeling a bit grumpy, but nothing a bowl of coffee won’t fix. I love my bowl, and no one dares take it. It’s porcelain, edged with intertwined blue flowers. On the bottom, it says "Revol." The factory has existed long before the Revolution. It was my great-grandmother’s bowl. She drank roasted barley from it during the war, then her Leroux chicory.
Last year, a little guy dropped it. My bowl broke into three pieces. A black anger vibrated deep inside me. The little boy was so upset, on the verge of tears. How could I scold him!
I picked up the three pieces and took Little Boy in my arms. His hair smelled of the light, sweet sweat of toddlers. A gentle hug that healed—his budding sorrow and my anger—everything vanished, and time carried on.
Today, my bowl is even prettier. Man fixed it using the traditional kintsugi technique, except he didn’t use gold powder or lacquer but superglue, and he delicately painted the cracks with woad blue. And my bowl is even more beautiful now.
I’m lingering, I can tell—it’s just that a story wraps itself in life, and life can’t be told in the snap of a finger. Life is long. Like in architecture, you start with a rough sketch, called a "sous-cul" (the initial pencil drawing), then you make a tracing, which is the work itself, the one you later carefully roll up in a wooden tube.
Life is like that: you erase, you start over, you use the nub of the pencil until it’s tiny, but you keep going—dreaming, loving.

On this forum, we talk a lot about trekking in the Himalayas, but I’d love to share another side of Nepal: its spiritual, cultural, and religious atmosphere, especially in Kathmandu.
Nepal, much like Tibet and Bhutan, is deeply connected to the Himalayas—the ultimate sacred mountain range. This small country exudes a calming vibe, shaped by a strong spiritual dimension. What I loved most was the unique sensory experience you get there. Walking around temples and tantric monasteries, a distinct scent fills the air—aromatic plants used for ritual fumigation. Locals mainly burn Himalayan juniper, cedar, sandalwood, and other local essences. This fragrant smoke is a way to purify the space and reach the deities, and you’re constantly enveloped in these aromas.
Another striking aspect is the sound. As soon as you step outside, you hear bells ringing in front of temples. People ring them three times before praying to announce their presence to the deities. Nepal is also the birthplace of singing bowls and sound meditation practices. In Kathmandu, you can easily find meditation sessions or "sound baths."
The spiritual dimension is everywhere: a Hindu sadhu practicing asceticism, a lama in deep red robes with his mala, turning a prayer wheel while murmuring "Om mani padme hum." Newar Buddhism, Tantrism, and Hinduism coexist harmoniously in daily life.

I only need it for checking routes, looking up addresses, train schedules, etc.—basically using Google Maps, TripAdvisor, and similar apps. No heavy downloads or major internet use. All hotels should provide free Wi-Fi for that, right?
Has anyone got any tips for me on this? What have you tried, and how much did it cost?

I wanted to share a really unpleasant experience from our last trip booked with Promoséjours and organized by FTI.
We booked an 8-day/7-night stay in Egypt, from June 8 to 15.
The flight initially scheduled was changed a week before departure to take off at 10 PM from Paris CDG.
In the end, it took off with a 1-hour delay and included an unmentioned stopover in Marsa Alam.
We landed in Hurghada at 4 AM and arrived at the hotel at 6 AM.
So, we spent our first night on the plane.
For the return trip, surprise—the flight was moved up. We left the hotel at 10:30 PM on Friday the 14th to take off at 2 AM and land at 7 AM at Paris CDG.
So, we spent our last night on the plane too.
After sending a complaint letter to Promoséjours / FTI, they replied that the first and last days can be dedicated to transport (which I already knew) and that no matter how many nights you book, you’re not guaranteed to spend them in the hotel—it could just as well be on the plane.
I’m really questioning this.
Isn’t there a law that protects customers in cases like this?
Because when I do the math, the first and part of the second day were spent on transport, same for the second-to-last and last day. And I paid for 7 nights for a stay that only lasted 5.
Anyway, I just want to say thanks to them—thanks to their two sleepless nights in transit, I’m coming back even more exhausted from a trip that was supposed to be restful!
I also want to warn anyone booking through this agency about visas for Egypt.
At booking, they told me the visa was included in the price, then they sent me an email saying I’d have to pay for it on-site at 25 €.
Once there, we were directed to a special line for FTI customers, and guess what? They charged us 30 €!
Basically, they’re great at making sure you *enjoy* your vacation—mostly by enjoying your wallet!
If anyone has dealt with this kind of situation and won their case, I’m all ears.

So I thought I’d get a Thai SIM card to use Google Maps for getting around cities, mostly.
Here’s my question: will this SIM affect my apps? Or will they work the same as with my Orange SIM?
Is there any setup I need to do, or can I just pop in the Thai SIM?
I’d also like to switch back to my Orange SIM now and then while I’m in Thailand—on the same phone. Will I need to reset the phone, or will it reconnect without any issues?

I’m reaching out to all travelers and globe-trotters on this forum. I’m a teacher in Creuse working in a ULIS program (which welcomes children aged 6 to 12 with disabilities into a mainstream school). This year, I’m launching a school journal project that will involve the kids in many different topics. A big part of this journal will focus on opening up to the world, embracing differences, travel, global cultures, and more.
I’m putting out a call to invite as many of you as possible to send us a postcard (from France or anywhere in the world)! The goal is to help us "travel" and discover new places, countries, and horizons in a way that’s much more fun and exciting than a geography textbook. One section of our journal could be called "We received a letter from ," where we’d research the location and share what we learn with our readers—a really enriching activity for the classroom.
The project starts in September 2025 but doesn’t have a strict end date, since this journal and world-discovery initiative will span several school years (the kids stay in the ULIS program for multiple years). Postcards can be sent anytime—throughout the year, across seasons, even during holidays! The kids will find them when they return.
I hope this idea appeals to as many of you as possible, and that you’ll spread the word to your fellow travelers. Help us dream and explore!

Hello. We’re a retired couple heading to Sri Lanka from January to March.
