Le moment de l'année :
Est-ce mieux au printemps (mai) ou alors plutôt à l'automne ( septembre ou octobre )
L'itinéraire :
Il a t'il des places à ne pas manquer ? J'aimerais doser les attraits touristiques et les petits coins plus perdus ... Je vise pour le moment la côte d'Azur, la Provence, les Pyrénés pour ensuite traverser au niveau de l'Espagne ... Vous me suggéreriez quoi comme gestion de temps ? Deux semaines en France et 2 semaines en Espagne?
Est-ce que d'après- vous c'est trop pour seulement 1 mois? Car le but n'est pas de faire un tour express de tout ...
Pour ma part, j'aime bien l'ambiance des villes, la plage et le soleil ... mon copain de son côté est plus nature, montagne et campagne ... Y a t'il moyen de marier les 2 ???
Hébergement :
Est-il réaliste de croire que nous pourrions logez un peu partout dans les auberges jeunesses? Nécessaire de réserver à l'avance?? Loger chez les habitants, est-ce que c'est un moyen utilisé?
Transport:
Le train est-il encore le meilleur moyen pour voyager? Nous aimerions voyager et pouvoir sortir des sentiers battus ... la location d'une voiture pour quelques jours c'est très dispendieux?

Je ne vais pouvoir répondre qu'à quelques unes de tes questions ...
S'agissant de la meilleure période, tout dépend si vous aimez ou non la chaleur (toute proportion gardée, la canicule c'est en été !!!) et la plage. Si c'est le cas, il vaut mieux que vs partiez au printemps et ds le sud est de la France. Sinon, le tps est tout de même bien agréable en automne (septembre surtout) mes les risques d'intempéries sont plus importants.
S'agissant d'un endroit susceptible de concilier tes envies et celles de ton copain, vous trouverez votre bonheur au Pays Basque (sud ouest de la france ET nord ouest espagnol) qui conjugue océan et montagne. En plus, en dehors des "grandes" villes (Biarritz, Bayonne, Anglet, Saint Jean de Luz) il y à tout un tas de petit village très sympa, les gens sont plutôt ouvert, on y fait bien la fête et on y mange très bien.
Question auberge de jeunesse, je dirai que la France est plutôt à la trainne....

Le moment de l'année :
Pour la saison sachez que dans le Sud Est de la France la quasi totalité des massifs forestier sont fermé au public du 15 juin à début septembre pour cause de feux de forêt. De plus avec la chaleur qui règne à cette période la balade n'est vraiment pas agréable et les plages sont bondée. A partir de septembre la chasse est ouverte dans ces massifs ce qui signifie que la promenade est autorisé, mais nos amis les chasseurs ne sont pas toujours disposés à partager leur terrain de jeu😠. Enfin en septembre il tombe la plus grande parti des précipitations annuelle dans cette région. Il y a de fort risques d'inondations.
Je vous conseillerai donc de venir au mois de mai jusqu'à mi-juin. L'avant saison est généralement douce, les prix n'ont pas encore été revu à la hausse et les routes ne sont pas encombrées. Vous pouvez vous promener dans les massifs et il fais bon se baigner.
L'itinéraire :
Pour la gestion du temps je pense que le parcours que vous envisager et trop grand. Si vous voulez connaître et profiter des lieux que vous allez visiter. Je crois qu'un moi suffira pour une région maximum.
Il y a moyen de concilier la mer, la ville, la campagne et la montagne.
Je vais ci-dessous vous indiquer un itinéraire en Provence c'est un coin que je connaît assez bien car j'y travail, j'y habite et je m'y promène.
Tout d'abord je commencerai par les alentours de Marseille.(prévoir 15 jours.)

De Cassis à Marseille par les calanques.(prévoir 1 journée.)(à pied )
Marseille (Monuments, ports, calanques, plages, Château d'if, ville).(prévoir 1 semaine)( bus métro, bateau et à pied),
La côte bleu ( de Marseille à Martigues par la côte) Carry, Sausset les pins, Carro, Martigues. (prévoir 2 jours) (en voiture).
L'étang de BERRE (Istres Miramas)(prévoir 1 journée) ( en voiture).
Aix-en-Provence (centre ville) ( prévoir 1 journée) (à pied).
Le massif de la Sainte-victoire ou vous promènerez dans la les toiles de Cézanne.(1journée) (voiture + à pied).( N'oubliez pas la visite de l'atelier de Paul Cézanne).1/2 journée. Ensuite direction le lubéron. (prévoir 7 jours).
Tous les villages du sud lubéron de Vitrolles en Provence(84) à lourmarin(84) (prévoir ½ journée par villages.)( voiture + à pied)pour ce baigner l'étang de la bonde.
La combe d'Apt (route de Lourmarin à Apt) avec visite de Lacoste Bonnieux et de Buoux (prévoir 1 journée) (voiture + à pied).
Apt si possible un samedi matin car joli marché provençale(prévoir 1 journée) (à pied).
Rustrel (Colorado provençale, les ocres) ( prévoir 1 journée) ( voiture + à pied). Direction Mont Ventoux (Prévoir 1 journée) (en voiture + à pied).
Pour continuer la vallée du Toulourenc(Nord du Ventoux) (Prévoir 2à 3 jours)(en voiture.)
Montbrun les bains, Château d'aulan, Reillanette, Savoillans, Brantes, Saint léger du ventoux, Veaux (possibilité de se baigner dans le Toulourenc à ST léger et Veaux).(penser a voir l'église de pierrelongue)
Vaison la romaine (prévoir 1 journée)(à pied).

Avignon intra-muros (cité des papes) (prévoir 2 jours)(à pied). Voilà pour un mois dans une partie de la Provence.

Je ne peu pas vous aider mais je pense qu'il faut prévoir un budget conséquent.

Transport:
Je vous ai précisé les mode de transport entre () mais il est possible de faire une partie du trajet en bus ou en train. Pour la vallée du Toulourenc je pense que le stop marche bien.
Le circuit fait un peu plus de 350 km.
A Marseille vous avez un aéroport internationale. Une gare TGV.
Vous pouvez rejoindre Paris ou Marseille par TGV d'Avignon.

mai me semble le meilleur mois car il fait en principe beau, peu de pluie, les gens sympas car pas fatigués par la saison touristique et pas encore gavés, les prix encore raisonnables, pas trop de monde et les journées sont plus longues mais à cette periode pas de baignade sauf à aimer l'eau fraiche (15/17 degres celsius). votre periple semble realiste sachant que vous ne pourrez pas approfondir, mais vous allez pouvoir visiter un max de choses . en partant de Nice vous pourrez visiter la cote d'azur, l'arriere pays, la provence, la camargue puis direct vers perpignan en longeant la cote . de là traversée des pyrenees d'est en ouest en passant d'un cote à l'autre de la frontiere entre france et espagne. cote espagnol, visite de l'aragon, du pays basque et redescente sur madrid en passant par salamanque et tolede. vous aurez manqué quelques trucs mais bon il faut faire des choix. cela doit representer en voiture 4 à 5000 kms et retour à partir de madrid. si vous souhaitez profiter de la mer il faut envisager de le faire dans l'autre sens pour arriver fin mai, debut juin sur la cote d'azur et la baignade possible. en france ou espagne tu profiteras à la fois de la ville, de la campagne, du soleil, du bon vin et ton copain des filles ! pour le logement : auberge de jeunesse c'est difficile, chambre d'hotes chez l'habitant de 40 à .150 € par nuit, petit dej inclus. avec le guide du routard, tu dois pouvoir trouver de petits hotels à partir de 30/35 € par nuit en france et parfois moins en espagne. le moyen de transport : avec les routes europeennes et le peu de dessertes ferroviaires l'ideal est la voiture et encore mieux la moto ! par contre il est difficile de louer à un prix raisonnable en france.

Pour ma part, je pense qu'il fait bon en Mai peut-etre deja chaud en Espagne, mais c'est encore jouable comme il a ete dit plus haut le temps en Septembre connait plus d'intemperies quant à Octobre je crois qu'il vaut mieux eviter!
Les itineraires qui t'ont été donné plus hauts sont biens, pour ma part, je pense que si tu fais la cote d'azur la provence, tu ne pourras pas faire les pyrenées et le nord de l'Espagne en 1 mois ca me parait court dans ce cas il faudrait mieux aller faire un tour dans les Alpes et pourquoi quelques sauts en Italie.
Je te conseille vraiment la Provence, Apt et ses alentours sont splendides

si vous voulez aller en Espagne aussi le mieux est de visiter les pyrennees orientales qui allient aussi mer et montagne, ne pas louper Collioure et de filer ensuite vers l'Espagne, de ce cote la, je trouve l'espagne plus sympa que cote pays basque, en plus l'Andorre est pas loin... et puis Barcelone est une ville tres sympa que je trouve plus sympa a visiter que San Sebastian en fait c'est pas vraiment comparable....

habitant l'extrème sud de la france, ( pour visualiser, il faut que tu prenne une carte de france et d'espagne devant toi) je te conseillerai de descendre en tgv Paris - Perpignan ( la frontière espagnole n'est pas loin) de là, tu peux faire un saut dans le massif du CANIGOU si tu aimes marcher .La cote sableuse n'est qu'a une encablure . Sur la ligne de chemin de fer qui t'amènera à Barcelone tu peuxt t'arréter à collioure et banyuls voir les vignobles héroiques de montagne qui se jettent dans la méditerrané, (en septembre c'est les vendanges)
en effet le pays catalan est un concentré de tout se qui peut plaire, montagne, piémont, plage de sable fin, côte rocheuse, facilité d'accés en train auberges de jeunesse, gites d'étapes, de plus on est à 2 heures de Barcelone ville cosmoplite par excellence ou il faut passer quelques jours (logement pas facile)
pour la période, septembre l'eau est chaude en méditerrané, il peut pleuvoir ; en mai toute la montagne est en fleur mais la mer est fraiche ( mais il y a des baigneurs quand même)

Oui, le Canigou est un très beau coin. Et en virant un peu plus à l'ouest, c'est l'Ariège, très sauvage !!! Les pyrénées c'est super facile et super agréable à faire en stop. Je vous le recommande !!!

salut! pour la période idéale moi je pense mai, juin et pour les passages obligatoires sur la Costa Brava en espagne, si vous arrivez par la corniche à partir de Perpignan-Collioure, ne ratez pas Cadaquès joli petit village de pêcheurs, Tossa de mar pour la vue de sa citadelle et son petit hotel "cap d'or " juste au pied si adorable...

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.
I’m also guessing that paying to access Wengen or Mürren only makes sense if we’re staying there for a few days, right?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:
Day 1: Brussels-Munich
Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.
This route means renting a car in Finland and dropping it off in Norway. My initial searches are showing rental rates that are... astronomical—about three times the price compared to returning it at the starting point.
I’m guessing I’m not the only one wanting to visit both countries. Are there any great tips to drastically reduce the cost of renting a car?

I’m sharing my draft itinerary with you because I just booked our flight tickets, and I feel like it’s quite late in the season. So, I’d like to be sure about my stops before reserving the hotels. I’ll be traveling alone with my two adult children. We want to prioritize outdoor walks, avoid too many indoor visits (both for budget and preference), and not spend too much time on the road.
D1: Arrival at 9 AM in Malaga, day in Malaga and overnight stay
D2: Head straight to Nerja (1-hour drive) and spend the night there
D3: Head straight to Granada (1.5-hour drive), spend the day and night there
D4: Granada. Visit the Alhambra (Nasrid Palaces tour at 5 PM) and spend the night
D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night
D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda
D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there
D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...

My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland in September 2026.
We’ll be flying from Montreal to London, where we’ll spend three nights.
After that, we’ll head to Dublin for a few days and take trains to visit the main attractions.
Our ideal plan would be to choose hotels near train stations and take tours to the interesting spots.
Would 8 days in Ireland be enough for this kind of trip?
