Pour une fois, je n'ecris pas dans le but de poser des questions, mais pour donner des infos utiles aux voyageurs qui comme moi, pourraient avoir besoin de recevoir le vaccin contre la FIEVRE JAUNE, avant de partir en Amerique du sud.

En voyage depuis 8 mois, je n'avais pas prevu d'aller en Amerique du sud, mais la tentation etait simplement trop grande! Ainsi, je me retrouve a avoir besoin du vaccin, sinon je ne pourrais pas retourner au Mexique pour prendre mon vol retour en Europe, et d'un point de vue securite, c'est mieux aussi, si on planfie d'aller en Amazonie!
Donc je devais faire le vaccin Vendredi, a un institut qu'un docteur conseille par l'ambassade Americaine et Allemande, m'avait donne.
Cela dit, mauvaise surprise, c'etait ferme car le 02/11/07 est ferie au Mexique!
Donc je me suis retourver a faire une 15aine d'hopitaux dansl a ville de Mexico, en me faisant "trimballer" et renvoyer d'un endroit a l'autre pendant 5 heures...mais sans grand succe concret.
Aujourd'hui, contre toute esperance, j'ai tout de meme reussit a recevoir ce vaccin, ce qui me facilite la tache et me permet de commencer directement en mode vacance arrive a Quito!
A Mexico, il y a peu d'endroits qui font ce vaccin, car il est peu courant au Mexique.
Je vais donc vous donner 3 adresses ou vous pouvez le faire, ainsi que quelques conseils :

C'est pas pratique, et ils ont env. les memehoraires que les autres!
Conseils :
* Emener du cash et le PASSEPORT!
* Demandez bien un certificat tamponne, signe, avec nom, prenon et N° de Passeport (eventuellement antidate de 10 jours pour le Bresil, sinon pas possible de prendre le vol! Je l'ai demande par precaution...aucun probleme)
* J'ai du pas mal insister pour qu'ils me delivre un carte de vaccination duement remplie...donc si vous etes malins, vous avez votre carnet de vaccination avec vous et vous pouvez leurs faire remplir...c'est le mieux.
C'est bien d'avoir le vaccin, mais il faut aussi dans certains cas pouvoir le prouver, et la le certificat est necessaire.

Je pars debut fevrier 2010 pour le Mexique avec ds l'idee de descendre jusqu a Buenos Aires en 7 mois.
Je me suis donc renseigne sur les vaccins, en France oui c 56 euros mais en lisant mon guide (footprint) je lis qu on peut se faire vacciner a Mexico pour un prix bien plus avantageux.
Me conseille tu de me faire vacciner en France ou d'economiser 30 euros en le faisant a Mexico?

en ce aui me concerne et sachant a l'avance que je veux ce vaccin, je le ferais tranquillement a l'avance a la maison, sans avoir a me soucier de la qualité, de l'hygiene, a me batrre pour avoir un rv, des infos...de plus que certaines personnes se sentent fatiguées, auquel cas c plus sympas d'etre chez soit et de pouvoir demarrer en forme et sans avoir a commencer par c formalités...
Pour l'economie, ce sera entre 10 et 30 eur, peut etre... a toi de voir, mais avec le infos q g donné, si tu ne tombe pas en plein jour férié, ca ne devrait pas etre un probleme a gerer ca sur place. Tout de meme; il vaut mieux parler espagnol.
En voyage, g toujours eu une seringue prete a utilisation, en cas d'urgence dans des situation sanitaires laissant a desirer...jamais eu besoin, heureusement, mais si tu va faire un vaccin, tu peut egalement prevoir d'en avoir une a portee de main, au cas ou.
Bon courrage pour ton voyage. je pars moi meme pour un remontee des andes en janvier au depart de usuhaia jusau'à santiago de chile, puis apres je descendrais de bogota a La paz en Bolivie, pour un retour au depart de Buenos Aires courant janvier...c peut parraitre beaucoup, mais je ne resterais aue dans les zones de hautes montagne a certains endroits...

Disons que le vaccin contre la fièvre jaune n'est pas trés courant au mexique.
Si tu tiens à le faire la bas plutot qu'en France avant de partir (beaucoup plus simple et même si env. 2 fois plus chère, les 20 30, -Eur economisé sont du temps, des nerfs en moins, l'hygiène ne pose pas de soucis en France tout comme le fait de se entir mal ou grougy qq jours...), je ciblerais une clique américaine...elles ne manquent pas dans ce coin trés primé par les touristes américains. Tu trouveras surement des adresses en regardant sur internet, sur le site web de l'ambassade américaine ou sur des guide de voyage.

En fait je suis au Canada depuis + d'un an (et ici le vaccin fièvre jaune est hors de prix: $115 minimum le vaccin, sans compter les $50 de consultation a chaque fois!!!) et je ne repasse pas par la France avant mon voyage, donc j'ai pensé que l'option de se faire vacciner a Cancun (ma première destination avant de descendre en Amérique Centrale) était pas mal car, comme tu le dis, américanisée, donc opportunité de trouver des cliniques OK.
Reste a trouver les bonnes adresses c'est pour cela que je lisais le forum, mais si personne n'a de bon plan en particulier, je verrai ça sur place!

Ce post est vieux de six ans mais il vient de bien me servir! J'avais besoin de faire mon vaccin contre la fièvre jaune à Mexico City. J'ai suivi les conseils posté, et j'ai trouvé le bon plan, en lieu et place du Centro Salud de la Colonia Tacubaya (le premier sur la liste).
Le staff est super sympa et très prévenant si vous ne parlez pas bien espagnol comme moi, le vaccin est celui d'Aventis, cela ne vous coute que 159 pesos (oui, vous avez bien lu, moins de dix euros ...), l'hopital est ultra propre, on vous délivre un certificat (ce n'est pas le carnet jaune de vaccination par contre mais une feuille A4 officielle), et je n'ai attendu en tout et pour tout que une heure et demie!
Par contre, il ne font ni la tiphoide, ni l'hépathite A, il faut aller ailleurs. Ils m'ont donné les numéros de téléphones suivants (non testés):

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
