Hello, I went on a safari from Arusha 20 years ago organized by a local agency called Sirocco, I think. It was fabulous (8 tourists, 2 4x4 vehicles, 1 driver, 1 guide, and a cook). I’d love to find those same safari conditions again (immersion in simple conditions within the Serengeti, notably), but I’m struggling to find that kind of offer (lodges, tent camps, etc.). Do you have any contacts? Thanks

Hi,

Have you tried Corto Safaris (https://cortosafaris.com/)? I climbed Kilimanjaro with them—flawless organization. The owner is French.

Hi Cédric,

We just got back from Tanzania 48 hours ago. 8-day safari with Sumbi Extra Miles. We visited 5 parks as a family: Arusha, Manyara, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, and Tarangire.

A lot has probably changed in 20 years. We had a top-notch 4x4 with a small USB charging console for phones and cameras. We did a walking safari in Arusha with a ranger. We slept 3 nights in tents in the Serengeti (including 2 at the "House of Nature," full immersion with night escorts if needed and all the right nature sounds :) and 1 night at Sangwayve MBuyu in the south of Tarangire (a more upscale tent). Everything runs on solar power for energy.

The trip was perfectly planned by Juma and his team. Everything went as promised. A 100% local agency that really understands the expectations of Europeans—and French travelers in particular. We especially appreciated their professionalism and commitment to quality, plus the little extras to make things special. We had Hamisi as our French-speaking guide, who also trains guides during the low season. His kindness, experience, and expertise made this trip exceptional.

We did pretty much the same visits and stays with the French-speaking agency Sérengeti Big Cats Safari based in Arusha (guide Godson) during the "events" (Oct 28 - Nov 8, 25). The agency handled our safety really well, and we were able to complete the entire 12-day program. The walking safari with the Ranger was impressive. The tents in Tarangire and the Serengeti were very comfortable and eco-friendly. Disappointed by Lake Manyara Park, which didn’t offer much—the lake’s expansion has more or less driven away some animals, including the pink flamingos we found in Ngorongoro. For the rest, we saw the same highlights described by Moms70.
