J'ai 20 ans et mon rêve depuis toujours est de partir faire de l'humanitaire. Mon projet d'avenir était d'intégrer une ONG en tant que bénévole et d'y faire carrière, c'est pourquoi j'ai orienté mes études dans la logistique. Malheureusement je me suis fourré le doigt dans l’œil bien profond car les ONG demandent de nos jours beaucoup trop de qualification...
J'ai lâché cette quête il y a deux ans mais aujourd'hui les événements de la vie mon amené à reprendre mon projet.
J'ai un BAC logistique, ne parle que Français et à peu près bien l'Espagnol, pas un rond (comme tout jeune qui se respect), une motivation et une détermination en béton et pour finir j'ai pas peur de l'aventure, au contraire ! Qu'est-ce qui s'offre à moi avec ces bagages ? Le top serait de trouver une petite association et d'être loger chez l'habitant...
J'aimerais votre aide car en fouinant sur le net on tombe vraiment sur tout et n'importe quoi, j'ai l'impression de ne pas avancer dans mes recherches...
Fais un service volontaire européen (sve) ou un service civique, mais de ne pas parler au moins l'anglais est un énorme handicap. Tu devrais peut-être commencer par là.

Je lis ton message et m'interroge; Que signifie pour toi "faire de l'humanitaire" ? Certes les ONG ayant pignon sur rue ont besoin de compétences précises car se déplacer et agir dans des pays en grande difficulté ne s'improvise pas.
En revanche, si ta motivation est le partage, l'échange, l'écoute, tu peux trouver à côté de chez toi beaucoup d'occasions de porter un regard humain sur certains de nos semblables qui ont souvent perdu leur dignité et par là leur rendre, ce qui est déjà énorme. Et là pas besoin d'un bac + 10. Le sourire, la sincérité de ta démarche et la sympathie qui se noue au fil des jours remplacent tous les diplômes. Regardes bien autour de toi : des jeunes paumés, des vieux isolés, des malades sans espoir, des étrangers rejetés, des familles en difficulté, des gosses à accompagner sur le plan scolaire...il y a de quoi faire sans traverser la planète.
Une première expérience de ce genre peut déboucher ensuite sur un projet de plus d'envergure.

I’m a volunteer leader at a youth center (MJC), and we’ve been deeply moved by everything happening in Madagascar—extreme poverty, endangered animals, deforestation, and so on. Plus, one of our teens has a Malagasy friend, so our group wants to travel there next year.
Throughout this year, they’ve planned fundraisers to collect donations (sheets, dish towels, schoolbooks, hygiene products, etc.) and funds to cover their trip and stay.
They’re really motivated and generous—they already volunteer in schools and senior centers, and they’re always welcomed warmly.
But so far, they haven’t found any organizations in Madagascar willing to host them for two weeks (orphanages, schools, animal protection parks, etc.).
Does anyone know of any contacts, please?

After 8 months of volunteering in Tanzania at a center for street children, I’d like to go back for a year in the same kind of role—this time in Burkina. We currently have 2 wheelchairs that we would like to give to our partner, the Benin Handisport Federation. If you're traveling to Benin, alone or with someone, we could give you one of these 2 wheelchairs (or both). Out of the 40 kg of luggage you're allowed, a wheelchair will only take up less than half. Our partner can pick it up at Cotonou Airport...

Hello, we’d like to travel as a family to Madagascar (2 parents, 2 kids aged 10 and 12). A first trip over 15 years ago completely amazed and moved me with its beauty, kindness, and life experiences—but also its poverty and hardship. That’s why I think it’s possible to introduce our kids to this island while also doing something useful through volunteering. The window is short—15 days in March 2020—which means avoiding the north and east of the island due to cyclones and focusing on the south instead. Some ecovolunteering projects exist online, but the cost is sometimes prohibitive, and kids are rarely accepted. Do you have any ideas or contacts? Thanks in advance!
